It is a small campsite with a fire ring, 2 camp chairs and solar lighting. Do NOT rent this tent site if you need to be close to your car. This site is not on the creek. Creek access is down a trail to the left off the parking area. #3: "Not for the Faint of Heart" campsite is a 2-3 minute walk from the parking spot on an uneven, tight trail through the trees. It has a fire ring, two camp chairs, solar lighting, and a small portable grill. Do NOT rent this tent site unless you are ready to explore and do not need to be close to your car. Make sure you arrive before dark because although the trail is lit by solar lights even with headlamps it can be tricky to find your way through the trees. Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. The sunsets are typically spectacular while enjoying the views and solitude. Book for a time of full moon and with a clear sky a moonlight ski or walk is amazing. From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property. At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October). Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. Areas above the cabin are for non-motorized use only.

Fishing access to the Boulder River is a short drive from the RV Park. Access to off road recreation is approximately 2 miles going north or south. Helena Mt. the capital, is a 40-minute drive. Butte Mt. is about a 50-minute drive where you can see all the historic mining era. Boulder MT (RV Park) is halfway between Yellowstone NP and Glacier NP. Wildlife is abundant with mule deer and whitetails. Certain times of the year elk hang out in the hayfields which are adjacent to the park. Views of the mountains are very nice. Explore the Ghost town of Elkhorn 12 miles away. The Boulder Valley is an agricultural landscape, and with that comes Mosquitos. Please be prepared to handle them mostly June-July.

What a great spot!! After staying at the hot springs for two nights it was WONDERFUL to pull into Stacie’s spot! So quiet with room all around you. The views of both the Gallatin and Bridger mountains is to die for! I pulled up next to her rv (just parked there, no one in it), my 20’ 50 amp cord didn’t reach the outlet tho. She had a standard 120 I could have used but I had a 30 amp extension cord with. I rode my bike just a mile to the local steak joint and had an amazing burger AND desert! Pizza place is there also. I’d go back in a flash!

Title says it all. I stayed here in the cabin as a solo traveler. There is enough room for 3-4 people comfortably in the cabin. After several weeks of travel it was nice to have a table, chairs, and easy access to the very clean bathroom and shower area which was nice and warm, even when the temperatures started to drop. Having a little shop located on site was very convenient, and I was pleasantly surprised at how developed Ennis, MT is. Try the restaurant next door, the Continental Divide. It was fantastic. This spot was a perfect jumping off point for trips into Yellowstone and Tetons. Thank you for a great stay, I would absolutely come back in the future.

This was a great location for visiting friends in Bozeman. The directions to the site were good and the site was clean, level, completely fenced, and offered electricity and water. We travel with two golden retrievers and after checking with our host, they were allowed to roam freely on the large, fenced property. We are very satisfied RVers and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wild Horse.

I have such a great time at the V20 camp spot at Jammin Jackalope! I have stayed there several times (sometimes in a cabin) for concerts at Pine Creek Lodge. This is a relatively quiet spot after the show, more private than other spots. There is quite a bit of light coming from Pine Creek shining on this campsite which is probably good for security but might be a downside if you prefer complete darkness. Colter is super helpful and frequently goes out of his way to make sure your stay is optimal. Close to town, lots of river access in the area, hot springs, places to explore, etc. during the day before concert time!
