If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. A small cabin sleeps 4 with 2 queen beds and room to stake a tent or park a camper. Sits on 6 acres with a creek bed under large trees and overlooks a meadow. Includes an outhouse, potable water, grill, picnic table and a "smokeless" fire pit. Dishes, utensils, firewood and bedding included. Come stay in MT City; only 5 miles from all historic Helena has to offer! 4 restaurants/bars within walking distance(.5 mi.). 3 large lakes w/in 10 miles with beaches, boating and sight seeing opportunities; the Missouri river within 15 miles for fishing, boating, paddle boarding, hiking and biking. Come relax! Sleeps 4 in beds. Additional guests allowed with permission and fee (tents and/or or campers).
While exploring Helena, we recommend the Walking Mall and the lower end of Last Chance Gulch for shopping and dining. You can also do a self guided tour of the Capitol building and then ride the tour train through Helena to get a quick history lesson. If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. If you'd like additional suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Jamie's land was perfect for our last camping trip of the season. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It is close enough to downtown to be convenient, yet feels like you are out in the country. Jamie was super helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in Helena.

We had an amazing five star stay at Untouchable Hip Camp. This is a must stay location located in a small community surrounded by breath taking views in every direction. Bald Eagles fishing the Missouri River competing with the daily fly fishermen. Nightly visits of a doe and her babies roam freely in this little neighborhood. The Hip Camp Host can answer any question about the area and was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t make the time to float the Missouri River, but we definitely will be back next year for a longer stay.

Absolutely the loveliest people to host you and even more beautiful spot in the south mountains! We could not believe how beautiful and accommodating it was! Highly recommend this for a camper who doesn’t need too many facilities! We have a travel trailer with solar so we stayed for 3 days and loved it. Our kids played all over the hills and we walked the trails with our dog. It was fantastic and so close to downtown too!

This property is a hidden gem . The space is private with flat spots in the sun or shade depending on your preference. We are not bikers but took advantage of the amazing trails for a hike just minutes down the road . Downtown Helena is minutes away and a great community to explore . Highly recommend this camp! Jamie was an awesome host!

Was a nice campground. Relatively level. Wide open spaces but there are no designated spots so you just park wherever.
Very quiet. Sign on 271 turnoff would be nice as it was a bit hard to find. I was there for the Old Salt festival and there was a shuttle going to and from the festival that dropped you right off at the festival grounds. I believe the drivers name was Martin. He was great and really worked long hours to accommodate the festival goers.
