Our ranch is cozied up along the Blackfoot River and 9 miles away from Brown's lake, both of which are excellent sources of recreation. We are located off the highway on the back county road. This pristine camp spot is on our 5th generation cattle ranch and depending on the grazing schedule you may be serenaded by the sound of soothing "moo's" from our cow and calf pairs as you fall to sleep. Along with our cows, there are chickens and horses nearby, as well as multitudes of wildlife.
Three couples of Trumpeter Swans call our pond home, as well as ducks, geese, loons, sandhill cranes, and a whole cascade of other bird varieties. Deer, grizzlies, black bear, badgers, elk, foxes, and rabbits also call our ranch home and can usually be spotted nearby. The camp site itself is along our pond. This pond unfortunately does not have any fish, but it is very relaxing to paddle a kayak or canoe in and out of the willow branches that surround it. You will have a quiet, serene and private location, hidden by the canopy of willows that grow along the pond. The views are spectacular and the nearby activities make this a great spot for any outdoor enthusiast!

I absolutely loved staying in the A-frame. It was comfy and warm even on a chilly night. The shower/dressing room trailer was very handy. Having the creek right there is a bonus. Geoff is a very gracious host. I'd definitely stay there again!

1 night at Mission Falls Ranch
We really enjoyed our time here! We stayed a night as part of our honeymoon traveling through Montana. It is very peaceful and quiet, beautiful surroundings with the mountains and creek, and the animals are really sweet and fun to be around. The bed is super comfy and cozy and we slept so well in the A frame. The camper with the shower is really cool and the hot shower was a very nice treat. It was a pleasure meeting and chatting with Geof. Would love to stay here again some day!

One of the best hip camps we’ve ever stayed at. Our only regret was we had just one night. Incredible scenery, the friendliest donkeys, a really comfortable bed in the A frame, and unbelievable star gazing. Was the perfect midpoint on our Bozeman to glacier road trip!

Tent camping on Geof's (Mission Falls Ranch) Ranch was awesome! My wife and I loved the site - next to a babbling stream and near the farm. Geof was a terrific host - he shared lots about the farm and the animals (goats, cows, donkeys, chickens, pigs, and his dogs). All of the animals were friendly. You could choose to interact with the animals or not - your choice; we chose to interact, and it enhanced our experience. The location in the Mission Mountains was gorgeous and easy to access from the main roads. It was far enough away to be quiet with only the sounds of the stream and occasional mooing of the cows. Overall this ranks in our top 3 camping location experiences. We can't wait until we can go back.

I loved camping here! I rented the most private site, which opened up the entire SW corner area of their property. There aren’t roads, but they keep the land really clean and there are cleared routes. It’s uphill; steepish but my Subaru was fine, and once you crest the bench it’s a park! I literally went to the SW corner and it was flat, private, open and shady. Just perfect. As were the visits from the gorgeous, friendly horses. There is no avoiding the highway noise, but a good attitude and a little music and you don’t notice. Great hosts too. Easy communication and really generous with the land and my privacy. So glad I landed there!

Megan and Jay were wonderful hosts!! Even though we arrived much later than expected, they were so kind to welcome us and guide us to our private, peaceful campsite. We woke up next to donkeys and horses, also being greeted by Tom the hipcamp dog! We were surrounded by mountains by day, and glimpses of the milky way by night. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful campsite.

2 nights at Mission Falls Ranch
My husband and I were warmly welcomed by Geof when we arrived. We camped by the river, which lulled us to sleep every night. The bed was comfy and large. I get cold easily and was concerned that the A frame would be too cold in the middle of the night. My husband and I slept like a baby and I was not cold at all. The outhouse was near by. I learned that pouring bark in the toilet will keep the odor down. There was a converted a small trailer into the cutest shower and dressing area. Only had an issue with controlling the hot and cold water but all else was great.
Their dogs are well behaved, love to play catch. One pup in particular was clearly playing hide and seek. He would bring the ball or stick and then run to hide behind a near by bench and would peer through the slats until I threw the ball or stick. He would appear and go after it and do the same. None of the dogs jumped on us or were pushy about playing.
It was devastating to hear that a guest ran over and killed one of these precious members of the family. Please be careful when you drive onto the property. Pets are part of a family and are loved just as well. Please be cautious.

If you want peace so deep and beautiful that you can feel your own breath, please go to Ryan’s farm! The site is level and gorgeous and private. It’s nestled among so many trees! I had the pleasure of hanging out with Ryan on his farm. He showed me around, I met his four adorable pigs, said hello to his chickens, and Ryan walked me up a trail nearby so that I could have a more stunning view. I could hardly believe that could be possible!
Ryan is a gentle soul who sweetly opened his gorgeous land to this wandering traveler, alone in Montana, but he welcomed me with open arms, and said if I needed anything to just come up to the house and he was there to help.
I have been on the road for 7 months and that was the best night’s sleep I have had so far! It is miles off the beaten path and all you can hear is your soul and an occasional bird.
Experience Montana like she deserves to be experienced:for her quiet beauty, breathtaking Mountain views, and in the warm embrace of a Montana soul who just wanted to give this traveler a soft, safe landing for one night.
Thank you Ryan! I will never forget you and the beauty that surrounds you.

Wonderful area that suited our needs perfectly. Mary Ann was very pleasant to interact with and was very accommodating. It’s very close to the highway but if you’re alright with that I would definitely recommend. There were hardly any bugs to deal with. There’s a swimming hole in the river 3 minutes up the road and salmon lake is only 11 minutes away.
