We really enjoyed pitching our tent near the animals — there was something wonderfully calming about having the horses so close by. Both we and our children loved the experience. Unfortunately, we had to leave after just one night, so we didn’t get a chance to try the shower or the creek.

2 nights at Emerald Acres Farm

The farm was beautiful and quiet. My daughter really enjoyed the farm animals, especially Stella (dog) and we hiked both evenings to the prairie. Clean, well maintained, and easy to get to.

2 nights at R & T Farms

We stayed at The Grain Bin for three nights—one adult and four kids—and it was an unforgettable experience! The unique setup on Ryan’s beautiful farm made for the perfect family-friendly getaway. The grain bin itself is cozy and full of charm. It offered just the right amount of shelter while still giving us that rustic camping feel. The kids had an absolute blast exploring the farm and especially loved spending time with the animals—pigs, cows, chickens, Guinea fowls, and their favorite of all… the CATS! Ryan and his family were incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay, always making sure we had what we needed and making us feel welcome. The surrounding landscape is stunning, with corn and crop fields stretching out in every direction. Each evening, we were treated to gorgeous sunsets and the peaceful sounds of the farm—cows lowing in the distance, chickens clucking, and a general sense of calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. This is a perfect spot for families, nature lovers, or anyone looking to slow down and soak in some quiet country beauty. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Hawks Bluff Farm Campground

The tent camping at Elizabeth's Hawks Bluff Farm provides access to potable water, composting toilets, clean showers, and a camp kitchen. We stayed two nights weathering the rain and enjoying the rock hunting. If you like to explore nature, hunt rocks, sit around the fire, and chill, then this is a great place. Mark showed us where some good search areas are and provided an overview of what to look for. Much of the beauty you will find is above ground.

Best campsite for beginning campers. The farm is charming and the animals are very sweet and extroverted. Being able to fill my water cube from the hose with clean, drinkable water was super convenient. We can't wait to go back!

Great place to stay overnight when passing through on I70.

1 night at St Louis Co private wildwood farm.

We stopped at Michaels property for an overnight on our way out west. The property is nested privately and out of the chaos of St. Louis which was a welcome sight. The camp spot we stayed at overlooked a large mowed field with plenty of shade trees behind with 30amp and water. Michael has a long hose and electric extension so no worries about reaching. We felt very safe and the property was very quiet and well taken care of. Michael welcomed us even though we were 2 hours late from our original ETA and guided us in and helped us get situated. The biggest thank you to him as we left a wallet in a nearby gas station bathroom and called him in a panic and he went and retrieved it and mailed it to us. Literally saved our 3 month long trip from disaster, 2 days in to it. Thank you so much again!

3 nights at Secluded Wooded Cabin - Lakeside

This trip couldn’t have been any better. Wendy has thought of absolutely everything inside the cabin and the land outside is incredible. So many extras: hot tub, games, beautiful sitting areas inside and out, walking trail, and more. The picture window in the cabin defies description. We had a perfect week. I cannot recommend this place enough!! We’ll be back.

3 nights at Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors

This was a really fun and unique camp site! The kids had a blast and the ponies were so docile that we didn't have any concerns about the kids being around them. It was a little difficult navigating food when the ponies came by, and there were a couple of blind ones, so we were a little nervous at night when they were outside our tent that they might accidentally step on some of the corners where the kids were sleeping. They didn't the first night, but we put up chairs around it afterwards.

Very cute farm. The alpacas were nice. They were the reason I chose this little farm. The goats and chickens were both eager to come to the fence when I walked up, they all wanted me to pet them. Clean bathroom and shower room. Very well lit. Thanks for the experience.

Earth, Wind and Solar Farm is 5 acres. You can book multiple sites if you want to stay as a group. We do our best to allow 1 reservation to stay on site at a time. If only 1 site is requested the others are then blocked to allow guests privacy during their stay. If another person requests to stay and it is booked, we will check with the current reservation for approval. We also allow groups to book and camp together if needed (use both rv pads, or tent camp). We do offer 50amp and 30amp power options (2 different RV parking sites). Some people have commented that our driveway entrance seems narrow for larger rigs (Class A's and 5th wheels). We've had 53' long rigs (5th wheels)and 45' (Class A's) pull in and get parked with no issues. You will need to be able to back into a spot for either 50a or 30a service. We do have additional parking available for extra vehicles. If you have a tow vehicle/toad, you will need to detach prior to arrival. There are 2 trucks stops less than 5 miles away (TA and Pilot) or there is a park with a large parking area off of David Hoekel Parkway you can utilize. We do offer 20amp power and extension cord for tent campers (either in our tent or can be used in your own tent. Free cold showers available. A bundle of firewood is now included for use in provided fire pits in needed/requested. Outdoor Hot showers available at a charge of $5/person. This includes the use of propane and a portable hot water heater. Wi-Fi is available during your stay. Will provide network name and password in confirmation email. 3 firepits are available for use (firewood can be purchased). Easy access to our place via Hwy 70 (take the David Hoekel Parkway Exit). We are 5 miles from Wentzville which offers a Walmart, Target, Sams Club, Lowes, Home Depot, multiple grocery stores, Rural King, Charlies and multiple restaurants. We have a stocked pond with catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, black crappie, carp and turtles. There is a Windmill that aerates the pond (do not climb on it). You can fish the pond must practice CPR (catch photo release). Or you can feed the pond fish & feed out chickens. We will provide the fish food and chicken treats. There is plenty of wildlife (deer, fox, raccoons, armadillo's, birds, etc.). Deer will walk by the pond and driveway a couple of times a day. We also have a group of free-range chickens and French guineas (eggs may be available during your stay). There are bike trails in the area, paved roads you can ride on to explore, wineries nearby, a petting zoo and pumpkin patch. Things to do nearby: Horsehoe Hall of Fame, Big Joels Safari, Multiple wineries in Wright City/Augusta/Defiance, Wacky Warriors Paintball, Busch Wildlife, Katy Trail, Pumpkin Patches and so much more.

The Katy Trail is right across the street from the Katy Haus. The trail was once the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, was converted to a biking trail in the 1980s, and is a part of the Missouri State Park. According to the locals, the original building at this address was the first hotel in town. Now, it is a 1 bedroom cottage made available to those coming to explore Marthasville, Missouri wine country, and the Katy Trail. Learn more about this land: A cute little house almost on the Katy Trail. Bring your bikes, bring your dog, bring your friends. After a long day of riding the Katy Trail and enjoying the local wineries and breweries, or maybe you are in the area celebrating a wedding, the Katy Haus is your place to kick back and relax. THE SPACE Located nearly on the Katy Trail in Marthasville, Missouri, the Katy Haus is in Missouri wine country and less than an hour from St. Louis. Bike shuttle and rentals available nearby (seasonal), the best pizza in the county is steps from the door, and wineries are a short bike ride down the Katy Trail (or a 2 minute drive down the road). Ride the Amtrak train to Washington and get a bike shuttle to the Katy Haus to ride the Katy Trail. The Katy Haus is a one level little house with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom (handicapped friendly). It sleeps a total of 4 people and is dog friendly. We love daylight and filled the house with it. The open great room has extra tall ceilings, large windows, and a luxury king sleeper sofa. The full kitchen has everything you need except to make your own meals, including place settings, pots and pans, wine glasses, and both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. The single bedroom has a king size bed with crisp white linens from The Distinguished Guest and light blocking curtains for sleeping late. And the bathroom, well, guests have commented that it is the best shower ever. Extra large in size and has a handheld shower head for extra accessibility. OUTDOOR SPACE Hot tub and a fenced yard is now in place for you and your doggies! Fully fenced for privacy with a nice grassy area for your doggie to play. BIKE SHED We now have a bike shed (shared with the Bank Haus) if you would like to store your bikes. WINERIES Lake Creek Winery is only 2 miles down the road. Blumenhoff Winery in Dutzow is 6 miles by bike, and Augusta Brew Haus is 13 miles by bike. WEDDINGS Are you attending a wedding nearby at Boone Monument Village (2 minutes), Lake Creek Winery (2 minutes), or in the nearby town of Washington (8 minutes)? We are happy to host you! For large groups, reserve both the Katy Haus and Bank Haus as they are next door to one another. NEIGHBORHOOD Katy Haus is located on Depot Street, what used to be the main street in Marthasville, an historic town that just celebrated its 200th anniversary. Depot is now a sleepy street that sees more people biking and walking than driving cars. Philly's Pizza is across the side street from the Katy Haus and has delicious pizza. Write your names on the walls inside Philly's to let people know you were there, too. Note that the MFA Co-op is directly across the street in front of the Katy Haus. This is a working grain silo location for area farmers and does produce dust during loading and unloading of grain and corn occasionally throughout the day. Observe a small town American farming community during your stay in Marthasville!
