Great small mouth fishing! We are approximately one mile by water from the St. Francois River. We have kayaked down the creek to the river for many years. The farm is very rural. We are 16 miles to the closest gas station, and 25 miles to town. There is no internet. Cell phone service is spotty at best. Currently a working farm, we have 2 high tunnels on the property behind the house, and our original market garden. Across the creek we are finishing up our 5 acre agroforestry planting. 3 acres of elderberries and 2 acres of blackberries. 28 acres, 3 on one side, and 25 on the other. The farm is located approximately 2 hours south of St. Louis. Fredericktown is 30 mins away. Food, Drinks, Golf, and Lalo's Mexican Restaurant! Weekend Trip to Saco Valley Farm, LLC

Site #3 was an awesome, serene spot. We went in October, so the water is a bit cold. We waded around with the dogs, and THEY had a blast swimming here, but we mostly enjoyed the view. It was extremely secluded and a perfect getaway. We WILL be returning next year during the summer to take advantage of that swimming hole.

Primitive spot is perfect, flat and close to the river. Space definately gives you a secluded and private feeling. River access by primitive spot is various depths and rock bank is big. Great spot!!!

We absolutely loved this spot! We made it back to the camp spot in a two wheel drive highlander but we left a little early due to a storm coming and we were nervous we may not make it back out without 4 wheel drive. We swam and had a great time. It's a beautiful secluded places and that's exactly what we wanted. We will definitely come back.

Weekend Trip to Four Creeks Ranch Campground

193889/10 awesome experience! Even though the waters were low due to the drought, the swimming holes were still deep and clear enough to do a couple laps. There were also several cool rocks/crystals that I spent my time hoarding 😅 I will most likely be back in the spring to fill another shelf. Michelle was also super sweet, and I could text her no matter what and she was very prompt with answering. She also gave me fresh eggs! Which with current grocery prices came at a perfect time to save my bank account 😂 Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded retreat with nature. The noises from the other campsite didnt bother me, and I could even comfortably stargaze from a hammock i set up in the trees 🙏🏾

Very nice place will definitely be staying again. Power and water hook ups were great and it was very convenient. Close to town.

Would definitely return! Creek was low, but everything is right now. Would love to see the campground in the spring when the water's higher. The ice and firewood available on site was clutch!

Weekend Trip to Arcadia Valley Outdoors Land

This place couldn’t have been better for our small group of campers. Highly recommend, hot tub, sauna and bathrooms were all very nice comforts while “roughing it”. There was ample space between campsites to make the place feel private. Great hiking trails on property with a beautiful lake to watch the sunset. Thank you AVO for a great setting for a weekend away from the city.

Host was very helpful. Loved the atmosphere and the cows. Plenty of walking space for us and our dog. So quiet at night, and no lights to spoil the night sky. Didn’t use any of the facilities.

We had such a wonderful experience tent camping at Melissa’s land. The property is peaceful and spacious, with plenty of room to set up comfortably. The highlight for us was the beautiful, clear water nearby—perfect for cooling off and just soaking in the natural beauty. Evenings were just as magical: sitting around a crackling campfire under a clear night sky full of stars made the whole stay unforgettable. If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing getaway where you can connect with nature, this is the perfect spot. We’ll definitely be back!

7 nights at 1855 Campground

This was our third consecutive year camping at Bill’s campground, and each time is as wonderful as before (if not more). Bill cares for the land so well and thoughtfully that it’s difficult not to be stunned everywhere you look. Key highlights (besides the joy of wilderness camping) include a variety of terrains, a cold and refreshing creek, a pond, generous wood bundles/refills, and great conversations with Bill. There are plenty of attractions nearby such as Elephant Rocks and Johnson’s Shut Ins, which I highly recommend checking out if you’re in the area. Thank you as always, Bill!

Pro: Great spacing of smaller sites, peaceful area away from other sites!! Good size fire ring Bathrooms well thought out Places to park ok Paths to sites ok No poison ivy Brush at sites cleared Con: Road to get to sites REALLY bad. Huge ruts that scraped all vehicles on bottom and bad potholes. Trying to drive in the middle, the brush on the sides scratched cars. Had to pack out trash, no clear trash area No place to cook over fire, tiny house firepit next to large on, didn't seem safe to cook Large place to set things in picture leans so that plates an stoves fell off without rocks to hold. Overall; We would love to go back knowing now the cons to expect! Fixing the road should be a top priority. That's the only thing that would keep us from returning.

2 nights at Four Creeks Ranch Campground

The renters are very nice and made sure that I had everything that I needed. The cite by the creek is setup very well with plenty of area. Also, i’m not from that area so I don’t know what normal is, but while I was there, I didn’t fight almost any bugs. The whole time I was there, I only saw a few flies. I’m from Arkansas where the mosquitoes will pick you up and carry you away. And if there is ever a time to where I can be outside and not get bit by a mosquito, it’s a really really good day. I highly recommend the spot.
