3 nights at Delightful 1 bedroom peaceful tiny house
Beautiful views and so much fun interacting with the animals. Very pet friendly, our dogs did well on the tether we brought. Cabin was perfect and had no issues with heat/cold. We had a great stay, thank you!

My husband and I took our two girls (ages 8 and 10) to stay in the lady Asha yurt. The yurt was well stocked with so many little details well thought out. All of the animals were very friendly. We had horses and a dog come right up to our yurt to say hello.

We really liked this campground. Very clean and well maintained. Camp host was very nice and helped us with anything that we might need. Had nice showers and bathroom facilities. Also had laundry facilities. They also have cabins onsite. Just down the road from the Meramec Caverns and a couple of wildlife sites. About an hours drive to St Louis and to Hermann Mo.

We just came back from our second trip to Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors, and once again it felt absolutely magical. ✨
As a single mama of four, camping can sometimes feel overwhelming, but renting the yurt made it so much easier — and honestly, it turned into something even more special. The land itself is breathtaking, and the experience of being surrounded by animals roaming freely, sweet and friendly, made it unforgettable for my kids. They were in heaven, completely obsessed with every animal they met.
Making magical core memories with my children is my number one goal as a mama, and this place does that and so much more. It wasn’t just a getaway — it was a memory-making trip that gave us those moments I know my children will carry in their hearts forever.
The beauty of the land, the warmth of the animals, and the sense of peace all around truly make it a one-of-a-kind spot. This is more than a five-star rating, but five stars is the max. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We’ll definitely be coming back as often as humanly possible!

Susan’s property was the perfect secluded camping spot. It was easy to find, there were lots of friendly farm animals that came to say hello, and the camp sites were far from the house, tucked away by the tree line so you could enjoy the pasture and the woods at the same time. The composting toilet was close enough and clean, and we had easy access to potable water and firewood. We had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Where to begin!!??? We absolutely loved our stay at BRCM!... we stayed in our camper on an electric site and it was fantastic from start to finish. Roger and Lela are just incredible people who have created a very special place. Between the swimming pool, bar and grill, playground, dogs, and general vibe, this place is a one of a kind getaway- more of an experience really. We loved it. And it's minutes away from the Current river where we set up for a few hours to have some river fun.
It's truly a family place- we met other campers/lodgers who had already been there several times, which i absolutely understand! This is a place you keep coming back to because Roger and Lela make it feel like home. We can't wait to come back!!!!

We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a great outdoor experience, whether you're planning to ride the trails or just enjoy the natural beauty. It's clear that a lot of care and attention has been put into making this a top-notch destination for both horses and ATVs.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with any questions or needs we had.
Be sure you take the Hwy 19 to State Hwy N or else be prepared to do a bit of off roading before you get there.

Where to go
Mark Twain National Forest
The Mark Twain National Forest covers 1.5 million acres of Missouri. For hikers and backpackers, the Courtois Creek Section of the Ozark Trail is a big draw, running 45 miles from its trailhead in Onondaga Cave State Park and connecting with over 200 miles of trail. Public camping can be found in the national forest within an hour’s drive of Steelville, including Red Bluff Campground, Brazil Creek Recreation Area, Council Bluff Recreation Area, and Lane Spring Recreation Area. Tent and RV sites offer dry camping and electric hookups.
Meramec State Park
Just under 30 minutes northwest of Steelville, Meramec State Park showcases landscapes along the waterway. In addition to offering scenery, the river provides recreational opportunities, including swimming, fishing, and paddling. Explore the onsite cave or hike one of the 13 trails. A campground offers tent and RV sites with amenities including electric-only, water/electric, and full hookups.
Onondaga Cave State Park
The dramatic Onondaga Cave is the focal point of this state park. Named a National Natural Landmark, the cave features massive stalactites and stalagmites with a river flowing through the fascinating structures. While cave tours are a popular activity, the park also features hiking and biking trails, as well as fishing, boating, and paddling in the Meramec River. Basic and water/electric campsites for both tents and RV are available.
When to go
Hiking and biking are most pleasant in the Steelville region in spring and fall, with fall being particularly beautiful as the leaves change. The weather is usually moderate in these shoulder seasons, with occasional rains. Summer is the most popular time for travelers hitting the waterways, as water temperatures warm to comfortable levels, providing cool relief on hot, humid days.
