This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Absolutely must see! The yurt is beautiful and cozy and everything has its own little place that makes you feel right at home. The land is beautiful and the trail down to the creek allowed for some great scenery and view of the wildlife. We will definitely come again outside of the winter months to enjoy the yurt magic.

I've tent camped at D'Ranch several times. Ted and Tracey are always the best! Chose a cabin this time. Perfect for my needs. Basic with no electric or running water. Port a john nearby. Great place to relax. Good place to see some wildlife.

The view of the cabin was absolutely breath taking. The cabin overlooks the beautiful big piney river and outlooks large rocks and Missouri hills. We stayed here from 10/23-10/26 so the vibrant fall leaves painted the backdrop. Even just sitting on the patio drinking coffee was very tranquil. We could not kayak due to the weather since it was raining on and off during our stay. Lacy was so kind to give us a full refund and a discount code for next time! Outside the cabin there is a huge fire pit where we roasted marshmallows and stargazed. We recommend buying some fire wood from Lacey and utilizing the bonfire grill and regular grill. Lacey offers so many amenities that made home cooking meals super easy and enjoyable. We made some really amazing meals that we enjoyed by candlelight on the picnic table. The aesthetic of the cabin was 10/10 and super hippie/boho and cozy. Which we absolutely loved! Our dogs had a wonderful time playing fetch outside the cabin. One of the best parts was taking a hot shower while it was chilly outside. This was the perfect and most romantic trip for my boyfriend and I to celebrate his 30th birthday. It is our tradition to go Glamping for our birthdays. We’ve been to a few different airbnbs but we both agreed that this has been our fav.Lastly but most importantly, Lacey was an extremely hospitable host, really quick to answer any questions I had and went out of her way to accommodate us several times. Thank you so much Lacey we will be back:)

I can’t say enough good things about my stay at Piney Bend River Cabin! From the very beginning, Lacey was the most accommodating, responsive, and kind host. She put in extra effort to organize an extended Piney River float— it was the highlight of the visit!
The cabin itself was just precious. It was cozy, spotless, and had more amenities than any rental I’ve ever stayed in—fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some. You can tell so much thought and care went into making the space welcoming and comfortable.
The setting was gorgeous—right on the river with a peaceful, low-key vibe that made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The drive up the hill to the cabin looked a little intimidating at first, but it was easily doable in my AWD Forester. Just give it some gas :)
Between the amazing cabin, the beautiful location, and Lacey’s incredible hospitality, this trip couldn’t have been better. I would recommend Piney Bend River Cabin to anyone looking for a chill and secluded adventure. I can’t wait to come back!

What went well... Everything! The cabin was just what we needed. The property is lovely and I loved using the kayak on the cove.
I saw Herons, ducks and other water birds and a few amphibians.
They had a great bonfire on Saturday night and my wife and I really enjoyed talking with Tracey and Ted.

1 night at Retreat to the Country
This yurt was absolutely spectacular - my jaw actually dropped as soon as I opened the door. This was our checkpoint on our way home to Ohio from Colorado, 16hrs in the car from CO to MO, and this little place was exactly what we needed. We were elated to find AC, full working kitchen and shower, the most comfortable bed of our entire trip, and gorgeously whimsical deco fitted with tea candles and fairy lights for the perfect ambience. Their kitchen was fitted with all of the utensils and equipment one would need, including a microwave, electric stovetop, and a pantry stocked with seasonings, among many other kitchen amenities. The food we picked up on our way into town had gotten cold by the time we got in, so we were so relieved that we could use the kitchen to heat it all back up! Even the outhouse was stellar, with running water for washing and compost toilet. All in all, the only thing I would have changed about our stay is that I wish we could have stayed longer! With kids
My kids and I had a great stay in the cabin. It is small but has everything you need to stay cool and comfortable. Quiet, secluded, close river access. Lacy was extremely helpful and communicated with me quickly to coordinate our stay. Lacey helped us with kayaks and a shuttle up the river so we could float back to the cabin. So nice to end a day on the river at your cabin without having to do anything else to get there. We will definitely be back!

Lacey thought of everything from all the necessary cooking utensils to the cutest decor to make you feel right at home. She was very prompt and friendly when it came to responding to any questions we had. Would definitely book again!

With kids
This camper had everything you need! We had a great time in Laceys’s camper. With camping with 3 boys 5 and under, it worked out wonderful for us. May be cramped with too many adults tho. Very clean bedding, and right on the river, although if swimming with little ones, it was kinda tough. Not a lot of spots for the to get into the river at safely. Lacey came out to help with the dumping and water, and we had to do nothing, which made it very nice. The very few people nearby was very nice as well. I would definitely stay on this property again!
