2 nights at A&W Christmas Tree Farm
It's rustic and basic and was perfect for what I wanted for a few days. I enjoyed my time outside most. There are Christmas tree groves, a vineyard, open fields, and nature trails. The wildlife was alive, the stars were bright, and Austin/Wanda were kind.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
We really enjoyed having access to the beautiful creek. Exploring upstream and downstream was one of the highlights of our trip. We took our chairs and our coffee each morning and sat on the sandbar while the sun rose. It was very peaceful. Cooking over an open fire each night was also extremely enjoyable.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
I was in town for a few days working in Natchez and decided to book this cabin for a nature getaway, since I’d previously stayed in hotels and wanted a different experience. The drive to and from Natchez was easy and manageable. I stayed two nights, and the cabin had everything I needed. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the AC was ice-cold—perfect after a hot day outside.
Zach went above and beyond by providing plenty of firewood and bottled water, which made the stay super convenient. I didn’t need to leave the cabin for anything. The location is very secluded; I didn’t see another person the entire time, yet I still felt completely safe. Zach stayed in regular contact throughout my stay, which made me feel especially secure and cared for as a solo traveler.

I cannot say enough positive things about my stay at A&W's Christmas Tree Farm. The property is gorgeous, and there is so much to explore. We were met at the cabin by the delightful Austin and Wanda (hosts), who gave us a personal ~hourish tour of the property and the cabin. They clearly have put much thought into hosting and want you to feel as comfortable and welcomed as possible.
My two large dogs loved sniffing around and stretching their legs after a long day in the car. We enjoyed our early morning walk through the fields of Christmas Trees with tranquil nature sounds all around us.
If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind stay, this is it. I will forever continue to book this Hipcamp if I'm in the area :)

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
The container cabin was great! The walk to the creek is nice and there were so many birds in the area. Unfortunately, I picked a rainy weekend, so I didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much as I wanted to, but one night was clear and perfect for stargazing. The immediate area around the cabin is clear of trees so there's lots of sky to see while still being surrounded by nature. The cabin has all you need and definitely enough space for a couple and one or two kids. The drive to Natchez isn't too long and it's beautiful, so that was a bonus. I guess the rain interrupting my plans means I'll just have to book another stay.

Great scenic spot right on the creek. Cabin was great. Made a day trip to Natchez, which was only 40 miles. Great fire pit and outdoor furniture. Zach was a great host. This will be a great place to visit in the warmer months to swim in the creek. We will definitely be back!

Base Camp is top notch. Amazing tiny space with incredible attention to detail in the woods a stone’s throw from a picturesque sandy creek. I brought my 2 youngest boys for the weekend and we had the perfect mix of wilderness and comfort. Cooked all our meals in the fire pit and grill but had the luxury of showers and a big comfy bed and central heat to sleep. Zach was an incredibly responsive and helpful host. This was my first time using Hipcamp and it was a breeze.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Container Cabin
This spot was such a special treat. My husband and I had a wonderful weekend here. It was quiet, relaxing, full of modern amenities, and we had the best day enjoying the nearby creek. Zach left us firewood too, which was an unexpected and welcomed surprise. There’s lots of hiking throughout the Homochitto Forest to enjoy as well.
I can’t recommend this listing enough. A perfect stay.

Mississippi’s Gulf Coast
Some of the state’s most divine camping is found along the Gulf Coast. Gulf Islands National Seashore protects over 135,000 acres of the mainland and barrier islands in Mississippi and Florida. Hike amid the sand dunes, hit the waters in a boat or kayak, go deep-sea fishing, or explore wonders under the waters. Further inland, Clark Creek Nature Area is a fascinating landscape, with 700 acres of bluffs and pines. The National Park Service’s Davis Bayou Campground can accommodate tent and RV camping within the National Seashore. Private RV parks and glamping rentals can be found in beachside towns like Ocean Springs and Biloxi. Or, venture along the coast to find Gulfport and Bay St. Louis and more.
Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail
One way to explore the state is with a drive along the NPS’s Natchez Trace Parkway. Crossing three states, the bulk of the parkway runs diagonally across Mississippi along a 444-mile route paralleling the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. It offers a trek through time, following pathways formed by Native Americans, early European settlers, and more. The National Park Serve offers three first-come-first-served primitive campgrounds along the Natchez Trace. Campsites are free and can accommodate both tents and RVs. Plan a longer stop in Natchez, which has several private RV parks and glamping options, including Natchez State Park. This town overlooks the Mississippi River and offers a lot of character.
Northern Mississippi
Northern Mississippi is home to the state’s mountains. They may not be as high as other peaks, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t scenic. This small section of the Appalachians is home to Tishomingo State Park, an unexpected land of ferns, waterfalls, and craggy bluffs. A wooded campground offers RV sites and primitive tent camping. Two grand lakes provide recreation and scenery. Sardis Lake is a popular camping area to the west, and Bay Springs Lake is a favorite in the east. The Army Corps of Engineers operates several waterfront campgrounds.
