Unplug and unwind from your busy life at our nature-based retreat. Paddle the river, listen to the birds, and simply relax. We offer a peaceful, nature-rich stay on our little slice of the river. We have two private mini cabins on the property. Each features a screened porch with comfortable seating, inviting you to slow down and enjoy the sounds of birds, cicadas, and tree frogs. Through the stands of cedar, pine, and oak, the sun glistens on Bluff Creek, where guests have access to our private dock and kayak launch.

Cook Cabin

Named after the mother of Mississippi’s wildlife conservation agency, Fannye Cook, this mini cabin is perfect for your getaway. Located on the Bluff Creek tributary of the Pascagoula river, guests can enjoy nature, listen to boats going by, paddle the river, and watch the fireflies. This cabin is located on the north side of our property with direct access to our private dock and two screened-in patios for relaxation. This tiny cabin sleeps 2-3 people but has a has a neighboring twin (listed as Leopold Cabin) for groups wanting to camp together but have their own space. The interior decorating is kept simple to bring a sense of calm and peace to your stay. The kitchenettes include a restaurant grade hot plate, an air fryer, a microwave, and an electric skillet. There is a grill (shared with one other cabin) out the door -- propane is provided. There is also an outdoor fire pit area for guests. The sleeping space has two twin beds that can be made into a king bed. The sofa is a comfortable sleeping space but we do ask that you cover the sofa with sheets if you plan on sleeping there. All linens and towels are provided but bring your own toiletries. The second loft is accessible by a pull-out ladder and is great for reading and meditating. Our cabins are set away from other buildings on the property for privacy. Parking is located just off the driveway and a short walk away from the cabins. We provide a wagon for you to haul your items to the cabin. Lighting on the property is MINIMAL after dusk to promote great sleep and a wonderful lightning bug display. Guests are more than welcome to use our private dock to enjoy the river. There is a kayak launch on the dock for easy accesses. We have 4 kayaks and life jackets on site for guests to use. There are a couple sand bars within paddling distance you can visit and swim at. If you are in need of an outdoor shower, please let me know and I can point you in the direction of our pavilion outdoor shower. We reside on site in the main house with our two dogs. They will be leashed when outside with us. One of them is a hound so you will likely hear her more than see her. Sadly, we do not allow guests to bring pets.
