The cabin was wonderful . The lake and the doc are majestic at sunset. My tweens loved sleeping in the loft and making smores by the fire pit ! Deb is a great host invited us downtown to an event she hosts that benefits the animal shelter ! A real swell time with swell hosts !

Weekend Trip to Harvest Loon Camp

I visited Harvest Loon Camp on a girls getaway late spring and knew immediately I needed to book it for a family weekend in the summer. We had a wonderful time for both visits! My kids are little (2 & 4) and loved the sandy beach and swim area. The fire pit area is well kept and we loved eating our meals in the screened in porch. It's the area is private and wildlife is abundant. We would've loved to have caught some fish off the dock but they weren't biting during our stay.

3 nights at SOL VIND - Lakeside Camping Retreat

This was such a cute and cozy spot! The cabin itself was SO cozy and relaxing, and we truly appreciated the AC on the 92-degree day! The hosts were great, and being so close to the beach was amazing. We enjoyed watching the sunsets and having a bonfire on the beach itself. It truly felt like something out of a movie. The other sites are quite close, so if you're looking for isolation, this isn't it; however, there is still a good amount of privacy, and the neighbors at the sites were friendly. I would absolutely recommend this stay and hope to come back someday. Thank you. :)

Weekend Trip to Safe And Sound In Nevis, MN

We had a wonderful stay at Debbie’s place! She was very responsive and made us feel welcome right away. One of the highlights was the relaxing pontoon ride she offered – such a peaceful way to enjoy the lake. The water was calm and the overall vibe was incredibly soothing, giving us the perfect chance to unwind. If you’re looking for a serene lakeside getaway with a warm and attentive host, we highly recommend Debbie’s land.

We loved this cabin! It was perfect for a family with kids. The weather wasn’t the greatest while we were there, but the beach space was so beautiful and calm. Plenty of space and privacy for a weekend at the beach. The shower and bathroom were very convenient. As well as the coffee machine, fridge, and microwave. Very well put together and homey. We’ll be going back 🧡

We loved the container cabin! We have a family of 4 it was tight but we made it work. First time in a bathroom like that didn't expect the shower to be hot but it definitely was! Very peaceful yet close enough to bike to everything.

My family & I enjoyed harvest loon camp! Although we overpacked, everything was & provided for us, from bedsheets to pillows, blankets, pots, pans, mosquito spray & charcoal! The place was well cleaned & organized. It was such a cute & cozy place! Will definitely be renting again! The host was also fast at replying & accommodating!

Weekend Trip to Safe And Sound In Nevis, MN

Peaceful haven! We enjoyed our stay at Safe and Sound and found everything clean and the bed incredibly comfortable. Loved time at the fire watching nature (Eagle catching fish, heron taking off from grass on our beach, deer in the driveway, etc). Debbie and Steve were friendly and very helpful. They were incredible hosts. We have stayed at many Hipcamp places and this would rank at the top. The pictures will not need any explanation.

This cabin is perfect for a nature lover who prefers a bed and a warm shower. The kitchen was stocked, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom dreamy. The girls weekend was positively divine. We will be back!!

Absolutely Beautiful!!! We rented the cabin for an Anniversary getaway. We loved the fact there was no TV and the only clock was on the stove. Had a fantastic stay and will definitely go again. Probably invite friends next time as there is plenty of room and beds.

The Hamlet Lake Homestead

The Hamlet Lake homestead is our 10-acre family home with two unique and private hip-camp sites. The Hamlet Lake Bunkhouse is located to the west of our home in its own secluded parcel next to the lake. The Camp on Hamlet Hill is to the north of our home, on a remote flat hill at the top of our property, on a hill over Cedar brook. with 300-acre, (private) Hamlet Lake in front, and the wide portion of the 20-mile Cedar brook in the back. We are a large "homesteading" family, with chickens, ducks, and a garden. The campsite is a private 1/2 acre clearing, surrounded by woods with a firepit, grill, cooking utensils, and an outhouse. (Tents are available for a small additional cost). There is an outdoor water pump below the hill. Guests can access the waterfront and beach in front, with the use of the swim raft, lily pad, fishing dock, canoe, kayak, and paddle boards included. At nearly 100 feet deep, Hamlet lake also boasts excellent fishing. Our home is located 6 miles from Crosby, with the world-class Cuyuna Lakes 50-mile mountain bike trail system. Crosby is a growing tourist town with many new and unique restaurants, outdoor adventures, and shopping opportunities. The paved bike trail begins 3.5 north of us. Milacs lake is 10 miles to the south.

Step onto the sandy beach from your campsite and surround yourself with the soothing sounds of nature and the lapping of the lake's waves to help you unwind and connect with the outdoors. We have kayaks and a paddle board available, as well as a dock for fishing and swimming fun. There is a communal firepit on the beach, along with two portable fire rings available on a first-come, first-served basis. We are close to Father Hennepin and Kathio State Parks, where you can enjoy wildlife and hiking. There is a bowling alley in town along with a city park. Local fishing launches are available and ATV rentals with nearby trails provide even more opportunities for adventure. There are also boutiques and shopping in Isle as well as nearby towns of Wahkon and Aitkin. Adding to the welcoming atmosphere, are two friendly dogs – Frank, a Goldendoodle, and his sister/sidekick, Lucy, a Mini Goldendoodle. They roam freely on part of our property with the help of an invisible fence. Feel free to shoo them away if they bother you or if any other rogue neighborhood dog wanders over. You can have your friendly pets off leash but please contain your pet as you see fit with other pet personalities. Sometimes, like humans we don't all get along. Please clean up after them as they roam the property and respect others campers/neighbors spaces. Keep your dog within your sight at all times. When we camp, we value privacy, and we'll ensure the same for you. Upon arrival, please head directly to your campsite or cabin. We can communicate through messaging to assist you with anything you need. ***Campers must back campers in from the tar (Vista Rd). Guests will need to be self contained, take waste with them and leave no trace. ***Attention Summer Guests*** ***Swimmer's Itch Prevention*** During the warmer summer months, please be aware of the potential for swimmer's itch in our lake. Come enjoy a relaxing vacation in our beautiful lakeside guest cabin! In one half of the cabin, which faces the woods, you'll find beautiful knotty pine vaulted ceilings over a queen bed with a loft above it. In the little loft are two twin-sized mattresses directly on the floor, fun for kids and accessible by a wooden ladder. Kids should be at least 6 years old to sleep up in the loft and closely supervised. There is also a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and cold water. Relax in the lakeside half of the cabin on the queen-sized hide-a-bed sofa or the recliner next to a wall of windows facing the lake. There's also a stove, small refrigerator, microwave oven, a sink with cold water, and a small table with 4 chairs. Outside, enjoy a peaceful campfire in the fire pit, listen to the enchanting calls of loons, watch eagles and herons fishing, and relax while enjoying the vast variety of songbirds. At night, our dark skies let you see the Milky Way and countless stars and planets! Full disclosure, though, there isn't an indoor shower available, but you can always enjoy a refreshing dip in the lake or use the enclosed outdoor solar camping shower. There isn't a television or wifi, so just take a technology break and get back to nature or bring a good book. If time and weather permits, we would be happy to give you a pontoon ride, or you can borrow our kayaks. Want to explore the area? Just a few miles away is the 49-mile multi-use Heartland Trail, where you can enjoy a quiet walk, run, or bike ride through a paved, wooded, level trail. Within ten miles are plentiful restaurants and stores in Park Rapids, Dorset, and Nevis. There are often music festivals throughout the summer, and several of the restaurants and bars host live music, some of which are played by Debbie, one of your two hosts! You can even take a 30-mile drive to Itasca State Park, home to the headwaters of the Mississippi River, where you can walk right across the headwaters!
