Other details : One living area 100 square ft with couch /kitchenette & bedroom loft space that you have to climb a ladder to get to! Feel like a kid again! Queen bed upstairs & downstairs a fold down couch & camp mat for 4th person , with all Linens provided . Partly run by a generator, heat will be supplied by a space heater that we would like turned down to 66 at night (heating blankets provided if that is too cold). . Bathroom has a composting toilet. (Usually changed every 3rd guest). Ac is hooked to an extension cord . We provide a Battery pump shower where you have to fill the bag with water & foot pump sink like used at festivals. The shack isn’t perfectly air tight so you might encounter a few bugs however with Chickens around they are natural bug exterminators. Ceiling height it just at 6 ft meaning those taller than that need to Duck under beams. Please beware. *summer info : Lake can only be viewed from the upstairs of shack due to tall reeds or by way of walking path which is still under construction partially handmade from scrap lumber . It’s about 2/3 complete with newly built dock, sections (see pics). The path is usually partially underwater until mid May so please check if you plan to kayak you will use at your own risk. *:It’s too mucky to swim right off shore but you can Kayak out to the swimming area. Kayak use is allowed as long as waiver is signed. Closed toed/water shoes recommended . Potential for 4 guests which is tight, or more if part of your crew wanted to set up a tent. *Fall/winter info: Use of our guest bathroom is permitted during colder months -just ask!. Keep in mind, The only heat will be a 1500 watt heater.

We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a small cost. Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire ring. If camping by the field fires will be dependent on conditions. We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river. We are very new to this and just purchased a UTV so we will be able to start making trails and clearing areas. But for now, camping along the river you will have to walk (and carry belongings) through tall grass to the site you desire. Quiet time 11 pm. Weekend Trip to Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

Julie was a fantastic host! She checked in after our first night to see if we had everything we needed. We spent a weekend here as part of a greater road trip cross-country and we had a swell time. The views of the lake are gorgeous and the loft sleeping accommodations were super cozy! After we left we realized that we left some near and dear prized possessions (a special hat and one single ear bud) and Julie was kind enough to reach out and then mail these items to us! Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

This was our first time using Hipcamp and it was a great experience. Place looks just like the pictures, beautiful and cozy. Far away from town to feel like you've gotten away but close enough that you can run and grab something at walmart or get a bite to eat if you don't feel like cooking. Scott was a great host, we were having a hard time getting our fire going since it had been raining a few days before. He came to our rescue and we sat and enjoyed chatting for the evening. Inside the camper was a cute little smore set up that we took advantage of. It was clean and spacious. You could tell it's been taken great care of. Will definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

I really enjoyed my stay at Julie’s B52 “Love Shack.” My dog and I felt right at home. Julie provided everything we could need. The upstairs was so relaxing and peaceful. The outside grill and zero gravity chairs were perfect for enjoying a delicious meal and providing front-row seats to view the stars and moon. The outside shower was an experience and a first for me. I mistakenly thought I had put enough water in there, but ran out with my hair covered in shampoo. Luckily, I was able to rebound pretty quickly and enjoyed an ice-cold shower on an extraordinarily hot day for October. Overall, this place and space offered me exactly what I was looking for, and I look forward to revisiting it soon.

Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

We had an absolute blast! Scott and Christine were extremely accommodating hosts. The camper was stocked and clean, the campsite was well lit and so nice and quiet. We saw deer and turkey in the mornings, sipping coffee by the fire. They have all the tools and utensils you may need for cooking either in the kitchen or on the fire. 10/10 would recommend and will be returning. Thank you!

3 nights at Tiny Love Shack Off Grid Glamping

We stayed at the tiny love shack for our yearly camping trip! We are a small family of 3 and it was perfect for us. We felt like we were in another land surrounded by cat-tails and nature. And chickens! 🐓 Julie had everything anyone would need to camp! All of the little details were so sweet and thoughtful. We had a fire for 3 days! We discovered that if you smolder fuzzy cattails it works as an insect repellant. Like insence. I even tried to weave a basket. We brought my dog and she loved sleeping in the cabin. This was our first time trying hip-camp and we will be using this app for all of our future family get aways!

3 nights at Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

Scott and Christine are very friendly and welcoming. They made sure we were all settled in and even helped us back in the pop-up camper to the extra campsite. So honored to be the first group to use the extra site! My group included 7 adults and 1 dog. We had a great time relaxing, playing games, and making some amazing food over the fire! The campsites felt very private and perfect for camping. The weekend we stayed was hot and humid, but the AC in the camper felt amazing. The camper was spacious and had just about everything you need. There’s a nice trail that was perfect for walking the dog. Cute lil cabin feels pretty secluded has a nice lil fire pit. Upstairs loft bed was pretty comfortable ladder 🪜 could be a challenge to some to get up and down but overall not bad. We did take the kayaks out but the lake was pretty low so couldn't go out too far but still fun 😊 We would recommend staying here for the price it's definitely worth it.

The shack is a beautiful little get away for couples, we had a great time and lots of stuff to entertain you for a few days around the area. I wouldn’t really suggest kayaking off the pier though, at least this time of year. Lily pad and muck makes it impossible to get to the beach area, seemed like lack of rain probably played a factor. It’s a beautiful place though and we had a great time.

Had a fantastic stay at the Tiny Love Shack! Julie was very responsive and easy to get ahold of. We ended up taking the kayaks out to the lake and it was so fun! The inside was clean and well taken care of. We slept super well; it was a nice, quiet area. We were in town for a small conference at MSU and it was super close by and easy to get to. Only about a 15 min drive from campus. Will definitely be back again!

Weekend Trip to Camper On 11 Acres, Private Site

I highly recommend Scott & Kristine's listing! It was perfect for what we envisioned with our toddler and 2 dogs; a camping feeling while still having a space with a door to keep said toddler from escaping, and also a retreat from the rain and heat. Even though Scott & Kristine reside on the property the site is private, and had just about everything we needed plus more. The dogs had space to be off leads, the property had a nice trail, Scott and Kristine came over to introduce themselves and give us the lay of the land, which was very nice and the RV is HUGE, the pictures don't do it justice. Not a negative but something to keep in mind if you're a hot sleeper like me, the bed itself is comfortable but it sleeps VERY hot. Whatever the material the mattress is made of just exudes heat. While the air conditioner works VERY well I needed a robust fan for more air movement and the fan they had available just didn't cut it. So I would suggest if you are a hot sleeper bring a small powerful fan, crank the AC up at night and you should be golden! All in all, if we end back up in Kalamazoo we would absolutely stay here again!

There was an upstairs loft but I utilized the futon in the main area. Very homey!

The camper was such a fun way to camp for our family of four. We have two younger children (including a very curious and active toddler), and they were delighted by the camper and the surrounding property and trails. We were greeted quickly after arriving. The camper was clean and well equipped. We hope to return!

Where do I start.... peaceful,relaxing, beautiful awesome place to stay! Scott and Chris both are the Best!! You feel so comfortable with them They give you your privacy But They are right there to help with anything you need The fifth wheel was so comfortable and the beds were very nice We stayed ( my sister and I) for a week and it was the best place I have stayed since staying places through Hip camp! There are paths to walk through in the woods a beautiful area outside to sit have a fire and just relax and enjoy the day There are deer ,wild turkeys and a special owl that we got lucky enough to see! I would say if you love the outdoors a nice place to stay Awesome people to meet And oh, two beautiful,friendly playful dogs that come visit You have got to try this one out for sure! ☺️ We will definitely be back! We loved it!
