Nestled in Manistee National Forest is a family farm. Trailheads lead to hundreds of miles of public two-track, and the woods roll between oak/maple/beech and aspen/birch. On the farm is a 20 acre lake with a floating island, tent sites, and healthy ecosystems with plenty of wildlife.Our farm pastures pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry, investing in our dirt and our neighbors. We are provision family farms because we provide for our animals even as we are provided for. Drop on in at the house and we may have time for a little tour.In the woods is a small composting toilet, but you're welcome to fertilize our pastures anytime. There's also a shower available in the house.The best time to visit Michigan forests is in October when the leaves turn color and the nights are cool. This place was perfect! It’s on a beautiful piece of land that makes you feel you are getting away from it all but also close enough to a lot of fun things to do. The lil’ cabin was perfect for the two of us and our two dogs! We loved how rustic it was. The property has some good trails to go for a walk around which was super fun to do with the dogs so they could explore. Highly recommend this place, we will definitely be returning in the future! Ed was also very friendly and welcoming!

Wonderful winter getaway, stayed warm with the woodstove. Peace and quiet after the busy holidays is exactly what we needed.
Ed had the cabin warm before we got there, everything was clean and well kept, we will be recommending this to our family.

Ed was super helpful and responsive during our trip over Christmas. We loved the cabin and it was super easy to keep it warm with the small wood stove. With the leaves off the trees it was possible to see the other cabin and the house on the property, but there was still plenty of privacy and space for our two dogs to run around.

This Lil’ cabin was such a wonderful stay after a day of hiking nearby trails! It had all the creature comforts needed to keep warm, heat up water for cocoa, and the cleanest porta john nearby! The host was very kind and gracious with lit lamps to find the bathroom. We definitely plan to be back in the future!

The cabin was so adorable and it was perfectly warm all night with the little wood stove. Beds were comfortable and I usually have back pain but no issue with the mattresses! The property was beautiful and the host was so kind, he gave is a tour of the cabin and showed us how everything worked, in the morning my dad wanted to see the other cabin and he gave us a mini tour of that one as well. They have a dog on the property but he's super sweet, no barking heard at all. Lovely fall colors and just 15 minutes away from the Muskegon state park off lake Michigan (highly recommend for hikes or picnic). Would come again!

Ed’s Grand Cabin was just what we needed for a weekend getaway! The wood stove kept the cabin nice and warm as we had some cold weather and even a little bit of snow as the winter season approaches. It was a nice, quiet space to relax, cook, and enjoy a fire inside and outside the cabin. We enjoyed a walk on the well maintained trails around the property! Definitely would return in the future!

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Spent the weekend at Ed's with my boyfriend during late October, when the leaves were changing. We were looking for a cozy getaway in the woods, and his cabin/land MORE than delivered. His cabin was stocked with everything (+ some) to keep us entertained, while locking ourselves away from the hustle and bustle of weekly work. Fortunately, we didn't get much cell service here, which gave us the opportunity to be fully disconnected. We filled our days hiking his many trails scattered throughout his beautiful woods, and tending to the outside fire ring and maintaining the fire in the mini wood stove in the cabin. Ed's cabin provided us with the most relaxing weekend and we cannot recommend it enough if you're needing a weekend to slow down, pause, and reflect on your never-ending To-Do list. We will certainly be back in the future! Thank you Ed, for creating such a space like "Dalton Traders Lil' Cabin" for people like us, to enjoy the beautiful luxury of being able to immerse ourselves in the great outdoors.

Ed's property was a welcomed retreat during autumn in Michigan. I stayed with my 7 year old and infant and we were delighted with the Grand Cabin. The play structure on the property (built by Ed!) was a major highlight for my 7 year old. We wish we could have stayed longer!
The cabin has string lights and lanterns for light, wood stove for heat, and plenty of blankets. We were very cozy on a mild Fall night.

What a fantastic place!! I took my 3yr old for a free days at the beach, and stayed here. It couldn’t have been more perfect!! Exactly as described, it’s peaceful, private, with trails and tons of room for kids to adventure and explore. The outdoor firepit was lovely. Ed and his wife were warm and welcoming, with great recommendations for where to go with a munchkin. I can’t wait to schedule another trip out there! We will definitely be back!!

My children and I had enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Provision Family Farms! Luke was friendy and helpful, and the Treehouse campsite was beautiful. We ended up sleeping in tents because my kids were convinced that the sound of acorns falling in the roof of the tree house was some sort of malevolent forest creature.
Highlights for us: We enjoyed seeing the farm animals, and the composting toilet station was beautifully designed and maintained.
