Camping on our Organic Farm

7 sites · RVs, Tents138 acres · North Branch, MI
WHAT'S NEW ON THE FARM IN 2023 This year we are expecting two foals (baby horses). One the end of April and one around the Fourth of July. We are also milking a family cow for our own milk as well. Her name is Daisy and her calfs name is Maple. Maple was born in March on the maple full moon. We do a calf share where the calf is with her mom part of the time and we are still able to milk her. Our mini horse, Annabell is now pulling a cart and giving rides! So much fun! We will have Great Pyrenees puppies from end of April through mid July. Come and spend some time with them! We also have two new additions to the farm. A pony mule, named Molly, in which I am planning to train to pull a cart and a cream colored pony, named Whinny as well, for riding. ABOUT DOREEN I’m an entrepreneur. I’m all about health and taking care of the mind, body and spirit. I’m an organic farmer, an animal nut, health coach, mindset mentor and Psych-K facilitator. I have six children and hosted three foreign exchange students. I love kids, animals (especially horses) and nature. I love anything and everything about health and personal growth and well being. ABOUT THE FARM We have a working, organic farm with a lot of animals, however, we also do crops as well. This particular farm is 138 acres with 8 acres of woods. We have working dogs, sheep, cattle, horses, a few ducks, chickens, a couple goats, a mini horse and outdoor cats on our farm. We have some super great animals. Most of which are very friendly. You never know what will be available to see on the farm when you visit. We are expecting a foal (baby horse) this summer (2021) and are already planning for another foal next summer as well. We often have puppies as well and sometimes we have to bottle feed lambs. There's never a dull moment. Our farm is unique in the way of having a very positive VIBE to it. The energy is awesome! It's really a space of tranquility and healing if you allow yourself to go there. After hosting with air bnb for a little over a year now, we decided to give this a try as well. We love hosting people and having them come to the farm and enjoy our way of life. It also helps to have a supplemental income as having and running a small family farm isn't very sustainable. Typically there's off the farm jobs to help pay for the farm life. It's a crazy equation. Small family farms are far and few between. Please support your local farmer if possible! It is greatly appreciated!

Rejuvenating Eight

7 sites · RVs8 acres · Richmond, MI
Two sisters, Angie & Kimmy and their cousin Amanda pulled together to keep their grandparents land and dream home in the family to continue building the legacy they'd started and to share their space and vision for it with others. With nods to our grandparents, the local history and each of our personalities and interests, our retreats are designed with intention to be a space for quiet relaxation, recovery and growth. The 10 acre property was purchased by their grandparents in the 70's as vacant land where they designed and built their dream home and pond on the front two acres.Learn more about this land:The nearby towns of Armada, Richmond, Memphis & Romeo are rich in history from their roots in our farming communities, historic railroad and before them, our Native American's use of the land. Each town offering a unique and charming Main Street full of locally owned shops and restaurants focused on supporting their local community. A favorite and the nearest business to our property is Strikers, walkable from your campsite, and offering great food, a full bar, billiards, bowling, darts, special events and fun warm conversation.About the space: Angie, her sister Kimmy & cousin Amanda pulled together to keep their grandparents land and dream home in the family; to continue building the legacy and to share their space and vision for it with others. With respect to our grandparents, neighbors, local history and businesses; through our teams unique personalities and interests, our retreats are designed with intention to be a space for quiet relaxation, recovery and growth. The 10 acre property was purchased by their grandparents in the 70's as vacant land where they designed and built their dream home and pond on the front two acres. While you'll drive through it to access the back 8 acres, the front two acres are currently leased to a long term tenant who isn't to be disturbed. Each year we're improving the property and adding amenities. We currently have 4 individual van or tent camping sites and a larger community site that could accommodate up to 3 small RV's, vans or up to 22' trailers. We're in the process of building a 200 sqft structure to be the "lounge" common area hangout next to the community fire pit. Most vehicles with normal ground clearance should be able to access without issue. Extended heavy rain has created mud in the past at the entrance where 4x4 could be necessary to get in and out after a storm. Drivable roads and camp areas on back 8 acres were bushes cleared about a year ago. While its mostly grass now, there are still short, sticks/roots sticking out in some areas where they haven't been cleared or decomposed yet but still comfortable to drive or walk.
