There are currently 2 grassy spaces for tent camping, 1 rustic area for car, van or camper stays and one small heated cabin with electricity. Tent campers park on street. 2 people per site, (open to discuss) no guests. Check in is 2pm. (please indicate estimated arrival time as we will need to be present to show you in) Check out is 12pm sharp. 5 nights max. NO BUG SPRAY OR SMOKING CIGARETTES ON SITE! This is a chem-free garden where lots of food and medicine is grown. Use bug spray or smoke your cigarette at the street. Very nice and clean outdoor composting toilet. Outdoor rainwater shower and changing room during warmer months (not heated. Must use non toxic soap provided. Bring a towel. No offsite wood permitted, no foraging for wood on site, burning of trash or burning outside of designated area. If you would like to purchase a bundle of wood to have a fire, you can find that option under "extras". WE CAN NOT ACCOMMODATE DOGS AT THIS TIME. Our space is a shared sanctuary. Please remain clothed and quiet. If you would like to book a Reiki, Tarot or Massage session or visit our Herbal Hutt Shop during your stay, please request during booking or check our "extras" list.

We are situated at the end of a private road with only 2 residences. 12+ wooded acres to enjoy(hiking/exploring). At this time, only Sprinter Vans, Truck Campers and small trailers are ideal for the RV sites. Tent campers set up at the back of the property in the woods. Several hiking trails and locations to camp. There are multiple fire rings out back and plenty of fallen wood to burn or you can purchase seasoned split wood bundles on site. Suggested Local Attractions: The property borders a public golf course, downtown Lake Orion or Oxford are less than 1.5 miles as is public access to All-Sports Lake Orion(the lake) as well as others in the area. Dozens of miles of hiking/mountain biking trails. Bald Mountain State Park and Addison Oaks trailheads 2 and 3 miles respectively. Disc Golf courses. Public beaches, paved trails, etc. Or you can just hang out and watch the various wildlife that frequent the property. At least a dozen breweries, distilleries, restaurants a couple miles away, easily able to walk/bike/drive.

***For the preservation of our property, our septic system, the privacy of other campers, all arrivals MUST be prior to dark setting in. If you can't see the signs & posts, you can damage our property AND your vehicle/equipment. All campers must arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. (This time limit will change throughout the season.)
*The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox.
*A small creek runs across the back of the property.
*There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking.
*Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake.
*Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite.
*Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house.
*Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee).
*Pets are allowed, max of 2 total (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max).
*Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. There are numerous places nearby to gather instead. This assures maximum privacy for all sites and for our family.

Later Tom came by to check on things and I ended up having a really good talk with him about his solar setup, other builds he’s worked on, and just comparing notes in general. My friend and I camped at their walk-in tent site during a heatwave, and even with the weather and the stickiness, we both loved this site. The navigation to the site was easy to follow, and the actual walk into the site was more than manageable.
It was perfect for us to pitch hammocks (you can probably get 2-3 if you have long straps) and camp that way. We were the only ones at any of the sites, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet, and a late-night visit from an opossum.
Not only do I recommend, but will be making a trip back (when it isn’t 97 degrees out!)

We loved camping at Lyanna's. Her and her husband are super cool people and we felt right at home camping on their land. They have the sweetest dog, too who would come greet us everyday. We will definitely stay again when in the area and definitely recommend a stay there. It's pretty primitive, but it's a safe spot of land to prop a tent on.

This site already has lots of good reviews that all proved true, so I’ll just add one more thing from my perspective. I went camping here as a solo female camper, which means I’m extra vigilant about my safety. I loved the fact that Michael meets all campers upon arrival, has them sign paperwork, and communicates very quickly. It made me feel much more at ease during my stay.

The hosts gave us a nice welcome, and we appreciated the detailed guide sheet and map. I made use of the water supply hose by the driveway. Our site was wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and bug-free. The picnic table and fire ring are in great shape. It was fun gathering nearby fallen branches and other kindling to get a campfire going. A short drive to downtown Howell, a great place to hang out.
