(With changing daylight hours, this time limit will change throughout the season.) *The property has a lot of wildlife; Deer, Turkey, Rabbits, Coyote, Birds, & Fox. *A small creek runs across the back of the property. *There are many lakes just minutes away, as well as the Huron river for fishing & kayaking. *Public beaches at Lake Chemung & Bishop Lake. *Campfires allowed. Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite. *Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house. *Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee). *Pets are allowed (cats & dogs only). They must be leashed at all times (15 ft. max). *Guests that are not part of the Hipcamp Reservation, are not allowed on-site. Guests will need to be met at a location other than our Hipcamp. Great property close to hiking and downtown Lake Orion. The two track back to the furthest camp site adds to the sense of seclusion. We will be staying again.

Perfect spot to have some privacy and feel safe. Camping on grass and some level ground is really nice as opposed to a beet down Public camp ground. I sat and talked with owner Tom, great guy. They call people like this good folk. Real good site too solid ground, lots of geese and cranes went by multiple times. Loved the stay here. We tested out a new air tent here had several nice fires and ate few really good steaks our last night. I almost hate post up here about this little gem in fear of others finding out about this gem. Oh did I mention how Responsive and respectful Julie was in returning information and questions getting answered.

I really enjoyed our stay here, it was the perfect place to try out our new truck bed tent. There was so much wood to collect from the forest to have a fire and enjoy the outdoors, I really got to enjoy the wild life. The outhouse is very cute. Michael was a very nice host and very informative and has great communication. If you’re looking to get away from the “city” with access to everything you need this is just that place for you.

Weekend Trip to Mulligan's Valley in the Woods

This little hidden gem is perfect for those in southeast Michigan who want that up north feeling—without the long drive or the bears. The site I stayed at was incredibly spacious, and well laid out. The amenities were thoughtful, with a fire extinguisher right at the pit making it the safest setup I’ve used. The trails were a nice bonus, good for a relaxed walk through the trees. Firewood was plentiful and good quality. Because it’s not rural, you do occasionally hear traffic in the distance, but it fades into the background. At night, what stands out are the crickets and forest sounds. Overall, it’s spacious, safe, well-stocked, and tucked away in the trees. I'm already planning my return trip!

2 nights at Tom and Julie's Place

I've been camping at various Hipcamps this summer. While each and every experience has been wonderful, Tom and Julie's land is outstanding with beautiful scenery. They've thought of everything. Easy to follow site map, land markers to each private campsite, wooded trails with a bridge covered creek, an open meadow and "park", potable water, an oder free valted outhouse with easy access to each site, fire rings, firewood (for a small fee) and a sled to pull the wood to each site, and best of all, they are great hosts. This is a must camp experience rich in history. I'm looking forward to camping here this fall to view all of the fall colors.

Weekend Trip to Peabody Small House

What a peaceful and tranquil place to have as home base to explore Detroit and Ann Arbor Michigan. Temps were high, so having a 50 Amp hook up was so important to us to be able to run our a/c. Also being able to fill some water in our tanks was very helpful as it has been hard to find publicly. Camping World is only 12 miles away in Chelsea and the dump is free if you have A Good Sam’s membership. The hosts were responsive when we needed them but also gave us our space to do our own thing. We were in a 34 ft class A RV and we fit, but you may need some help being guided in, so let them know when you are close by.
