There are a number of trails to walk on the 35 private acreage of rolling hills. This heavily wooded land hosts much wildlife and beautiful scenery. There is a sport court which provides opportunities to play basketball, volleyball, pickleball, or badminton. The property is a work in progress with lots of plans for the future; including a food forest, natural pool, recreation building (being built summer 2022), and more.. The Fred Meijer trail provides great biking or hiking opportunities. Lazy float tubing or kayaking down the flat river is very popular and only a short walk away. Horse back riding, golf courses, and an amazing local bakery all within a couple miles. And a fun sport court (basketball hoop, volleyball/badminton/pickelball net all right on site!

Only 30 minutes east of Grand Rapids, this property was established as a Youth Camp for 15 years is now a private event venue and campground, so it has nice amenities like FULL restrooms, a picnic shelter, and even a few small cabins that can be rented.
Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Steam cleaning the mattress will be an extra charge.
Swimming beach is available in Lowell a few miles away.
Fishing rivers and lakes are also in the area. (live bait in Saranac)
Woods site and Open Area have a few different locations you can choose from.

We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Large trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm.
There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't last as long as usual. If it's chilly, we do have a portable heater available.
We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

Kayak and Canoe Rentals are also available on sight, best to reserve in advance. Hiking trails nearby offer a great way to explore the Allegan Forest or the lakeshore sand dunes. We are 7 miles east of Saugatuck and 5 miles north of Fennville, our site makes a perfect escape from the nearby lakeshore shopping and dining district while keeping you in close proximity to local wineries and other attractions. You will enjoy a comfortable new full size mattress with bedding provided. Over 30 acres of maintained hiking trails are available. The fire pit area, with solar powered string lights, is the perfect place to relax around the campfire. There is a clean outhouse and water/sprayer available for rinsing off. This is an intentionally rustic site so guests can truly unplug from the daily rush of life.
You will enter from a private drive and follow the trail markers to the cabin. Other markers will guide you through the hiking trails on the property.

This is a great space for artists, writers and those looking for peace and space to relax amongst the tall pines and listen to the birds sing.
Newaygo is a charming little historic town with the Muskegon River flowing through. Visit the local shops and restaurants or explore the nearby trails and Manistee forest or spend time fishing or kayaking on the Muskegon river. The Dragon Trail is a popular biking trail featuring beautiful views of Hardy Pond.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! It’s beautifully built and everything was well stocked and maintained. Cathy was very hospitable and the pie was incredible. We loved cooking dinners over the fire and walking all the trails. We saw chipmunks, a baby deer, lots of birds, and a fox. Definitely recommend this place!

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Ed was very welcoming, thoughtful and communicative. He greeted us upon arrival and gave a quick run down of the cabin/land. He even had a fire already started in the cabin as it was a bit chilly.
The grand cabin was so cute and cozy. The bed was comfy and the portapotty was clean. There was no one else there when we were there so it was really private. A lovely place to unplug and unwind in nature.
There is plenty of clean water and firewood. There were also a few spices, tea, hot chocolate and instant coffee. There is a pan and grate for outdoor cooking but I suggest bringing a pot, utensils and cooking tools!

I had a wonderful, peaceful experience. Cabin had a microwave, a fold out couch. Multiple outlets for electricity. Dan the host was great and his dog Luke stayed with me the whole time, very cool.

Our 2nd year at the Grand Cabin was great. Ed is an excellent host, the cabin quaint and cute, and Coco the dog was excellent company. Highly recommended. We will be back again next year!

1 night at Whispering Pines Retreat
This was the perfect weekend retreat from the city! I booked it on a whim the day before we left, arrived and everything was perfect and waiting for us. The experience was rustic and also very cozy, it was exactly what I wanted out of a spontaneous trip with my partner.

Everything was perfect! I stayed at the grand cabin with my grandkids. ED and Coco gave us a tour of the property and told us how and why the cabin was built which was very heart felt.
There was a nice pond, playground, trails and the out house was clean and decorated.
I loved the fire pit, loft space and the photos and art in the cabin.
I am hoping to get out again soon!

2 nights at Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
Everything about my trip was perfect. First off thank you to Ed who is an amazing person. He goes above and beyond to make sure you're set up and his hospitality was top notch. The Grand Cabin was a beautiful place to relax and recharge for a few chilly nights. The woodburnng stove really added to the charm and kept the cabin beyond cozy on 20 degree nights. The grounds were beautifully kept and secluded. The porta potty was meticulously clean and well stocked. There was plenty of firewood and kindling to keep the stove and campfire going. The cabin also had a lot of amenities and way beyond the basic offering. If you're looking for a place to unplug and recharge for a few nights I highly recommend you book a few night here.

We really enjoyed a much needed getaway to natureThe Grand cabin was perfect for our needs, affordable, and only an hour from home. The best part for us was being able to let our dog Billy run off leash and get away with us. We look forward to visiting again. Close to lake Michigan was a plus! Thank you Ed and Pam!

Had a great overnight stay here with my partner and dog. Ed was extremely helpful and communicative. Upon arrival, he greeted us and gave us a walkthrough of the cabin and property and had plenty of recommendations and firewood available. The Grand Cabin was cozy and stayed warm through a chilly night. We really enjoyed our stay.
Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back soon for a longer stay.

Dalton Traders is an ideal place for a peaceful getaway. I truly enjoyed the time spent there, and plan to be back often in the future. Whether you're looking for a quiet retreat, solo or a couple, this is the place. Ed was extremely kind and communicative. Even had cabin heated!
Te cabin itself was perfect and had all you need. Wood stove warmed the cabin well. The trails on the property were great, even got to see some deer. All around Dalton Traders is amazing. Looking forward to spending more time there in the future.

Cabin had everything we needed. It was clean, cozy and peaceful. Long hike in the morning and relaxing by the woodstove with a good book in the afternoon. Great way to unplug and revive. This was our 3rd visit and we will definitely be back next year.

4 nights at Billy’s Place in the Woods
Billy's place and land is the epitome of a quiet, rustic getaway. The host himself is communicative and thorough. It's clear he cares about his property, and about my time out there. Billy explains the cabin and setup perfectly. Like camping, with four walls and roof. You have all you need there.
If you want glamping, this isn't it. If you want a real, genuine outdoor experience in a serene peaceful environment, this is it. Billy's place provides just enough comfort to truly enjoy being in the quiet. The highlight of the area for me were the trails. Long trails in two directions, really nice if you want solitude and a few hours walking in the pines with the sounds of the animals. I look forward to heading back in the near future... Thanks Billy

Weekend Trip to Dalton Traders Tents RV's Cabins
This is my boyfriend's and I'd second time staying at Ed's Hipcamp - this time in the winter for Valentine's Day! Once again, we both cannot recommend this Hipcamp ENOUGH! Thankfully, the driveway heading back to our "parking spot" for the weekend was perfectly plowed for us by Ed, so we had no issues whatsoever! Due to us having front wheel drive on our car and there being lots of snow the weekend we came up, Ed provided us with sleds to hike in our belongings a short amount, back to the cabin. The small wood stove kept us nice and cozy all weekend long and we had zero problems staying warm. Ed even provided us with snowshoes to borrow the entire weekend we were there to use around his beautiful property - which was such a fun opportunity!
If you enjoy being locked away for the weekend in a delightful setting and putting your wood-fire stove skills to the test, then I promise you - you cannot go wrong staying at Dalton Traders Lil' Cabin! Thanks again Ed for such a wonderful weekend away - we are sure to be back (again) soon!

We loved staying in the cozy cabin in the woods! Quiet spot to rest and get off the grid for a few days. The cabin is full of amenities that are not usually provided, for example sleeping pads, potable water, camp stove. Clean spot and the hosts are gracious.

The Lil Cabin was so cute and cozy! I was there during a winter storm, 8" of snow overnight, and the cabin stayed 60°and dry the whole time! It was extremely well stocked with wood for the wood stove and Ed plowed the path leading to it before I even woke up both days so I wouldn't be stuck. My dog and I had a great time exploring the trails on the property and at the state park a few miles away

Ed’s Lil Cabin was great. Very thoughtful that he warmed the place up for me. We got probably 7 inches of snow and he cleared paths for me with his tractor. Love the little area they’ve made back in their woods. My pup was also very happy with the stay and the trails behind the cabins.
