Come enjoy the wilderness, beauty and solace of the most northern part of Maine at our camp "Ursa Minor" Minutes from the Canadian border in Grand Isle, this remote and secluded off-grid comfortable cabin on just under 200 private acres of northern Maine wilderness has beautiful scenic mountain views. It is located along the extensive ATV road system and is completely ATV accessible. It is at the end of a 4 mile gravel road ( which can be rough at times). There is a brook on the property and maintained walking trails. During berry season there are unlimited amounts of berries to pick. This is a sanctuary for wildlife so while pets are allowed, prior permission is needed for the protection of the wildlife that lives here. Off leash pets are at your own risk and please pick up after pets when able. We share the property with moose, bear, deer, fisher cats, coyote, lynx and bobcats. We take the welfare of the wildlife on our property seriously and there is absolutely no hunting or baiting allowed. The cabin is outfitted with solar electricity which is limited but can provide lights, outlets and charging for devices There is propane heat in the camp and a portable outdoor stove camping stove top. Absolutely no candles or smoking in the cabin and all outdoor fires should be limited to the fire pit and fully extinguished after use. There is no wifi at the cabin but most people have good cell signal. There are trail cameras on the property.

David purchased the property from his parents and built the log cabin, sauna and privy with good friends who also constructed the Rope Bridge. Linda came along in 2000 and moved in with her dog. David was just finishing up a bedroom addition to the cabin, just in time! We got married on the property in 2002. Our family gathers together a lot throughout the summers and we have a ski commute to our vehicles during the winter. We love to share our cabin with those of like mind. It's truly a sweet spot!Learn more about this land:Our cabin in the woods offers you a sweet getaway. Think of it as Luxury Camping. No running water but fresh water is provided. Privy on premises. Gas stove. Wood stove. No refrigeration (coolers & ice works!). Grill. Fire pit. Basic kitchen items. Wood-fired sauna. Totally off grid. Located on the river.The cabin is suited for short term stays, though someone with a good comfort level of being in nature and off grid could enjoy a longer stay. Life slows down in our neck of the woods.

1 night at Rugged & Re-Charged

This property is very clean, well maintained and peaceful. There is easy access to numerous well marked ATV, snow mobile and hiking trails. The owners are super helpful and have thought of everything that will make the off grid camping experience a memorable one. Everyone in the surrounding area is friendly and willing to share their knowledge of the region. If you’re looking to spend a few quiet days away from it all, this is the camp to visit. I’ll be back again at my first opportunity!

Very quiet area & we never heard any other visitors or residents around us the entire stay. Expect rustic conditions, wildlife, & lots of shade. Very modern - running water from a mountain water well, lighting, propane stove & oven, a large kitchen counter, a kitchen table with four chairs, a super comfortable leather chair & ottoman, a jackknife sofa, a queen bed, & a set of bunk beds. There is also a very new wood burning stove with lots of wood. There is also a wall heater that is fueled by propane. Stocked with cutlery, service utensils, glasses, & mugs. Has a large Blackstone grill under cover. Chairs around the outside of the property. Owners supplied a large cooler. • Outdoor sink. Two large picnic tables. Typical outhouse, is very new & close to front door. State owned bathroom just a few minute drive. • Large outdoor shower with HOT water near front door. • All amenities very easy to use just follow the directions. • Mountain trails for hikes for every level of hiker with signs of wildlife. • Nearby - Produce stand called Arnold’s Farm Market nearby. • Fort Kent –Canadian Border Crossing & the Swamp Bucket restaurant. • Presque Isle - coffee shops & The Riverside Inn Restaurant. • Caribou – go to “Sleepers” for clothing & the bowling alley. HUGE! Longer reviews on other review sites. We will definitely be back for a longer trip next time. Thank you to the owners of MMC Outdoors! Weekend Trip to Rugged & Re-Charged

This cabin and the surrounding land was absolutely beautiful! Unplugged and real camping without everyday luxuries is something everyone should do once in a while to eliminate all the noise. This camp was it! I would recommend 100x over! Definitely going back soon!
