Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

My son (age 12) and I have been to Four Acre Woods for the last 2 years and really enjoyed it. The first year we tent camped and this year we stayed in the yurt. The campground is very small, which we like and each site is unique. Lots of amenities for such a small campground, they really think of the little things that keeps camping comfortable. The yurt was wonderful and the campsite has everything you need (we brought too much stuff). Just bring yourself, clothes, and food and you are good to go. We are fairly local, so it is a great weekend getaway, but we don't really explore the area when camping. If you want to experience the downeast Maine coast away from the more touristy spots, this is where you want to go.

Weekend Trip to Four Acre Woods Island Campground

We loved staying in the yurt! It was perfectly private, adorable, and we were surprised by the incredibly comfortable beds. This was the perfect size for our family of 5. The community room was warm (literally had a wood stove going at 6am!), stocked with coffee and hot chocolate, and hosts and the space alike were welcoming and helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay in one of the domes at Four Acre Wood. The tent was comfortable, and the campground had everything we needed. Conary Cove is a must-visit and we were pleasantly surprised by the selection at the local Hannaford in Blue Hill. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to friends.

We had a great two night stay at Four Acre Woods Campground. We stayed in the yurt, which we found cozy and perfect for our needs. The site itself was well appointed with two hammocks, a cute fire pit and plenty of seating around the campfire area. Our group loved the little community center for coffee in the morning, it was easy to purchase dry wood to burn (across from site) and we all felt like the bathrooms were clean and a short walk away.

Great little campground! Clean and well cared for. Walking distance to a beautiful beach that’s dog friendly. Great amenities…shower, ice and firewood. Lots to do all within 20 minutes of your campsite. Lots of great restaurant choices too. Our favorite was the Burnt Cove Lobster Boil…highly recommend!

I appreciate 4 acre's gracious atmosphere ; the hosts are both responsive and unintrusive. The Seal Cove geodome is both stylish and comfortable ; thoughtful details like the pour over coffee cone and stoneware dishes are a treat! The area's natural beauty is easily accessible from the campground, all in all a perfect spot!

This is a delightful campground in the woods, but not far from a cove I believe (although we couldn't find it). Its obvious that a lot of thought has gone into the facilities which are very clean and comfortable. No charges either for using the washing machines, and soap and shampoo and conditioner provided in the bathouse. The common area is very sweet with books, guitars, games and all sorts of info on the local area. We loved the geodome which was very comfortable and had everything we might need. We had one night which was colder than expected but they supplied us with a space heater which helped.

I loved my stay in the geodome at Four Acres Woods! This is the perfect place for those who love the outdoors but want a more convenient, comfortable way to enjoy it! The staff was very friendly and made sure our stay was amazing! All the facilities, including the bathrooms, sauna, and community cabin were very clean. We met amazing people in the area and got to see some amazing nature!

Caleb's yurt was a pleasure to stay in. We arrived to find a well lit campground, equipped with a gas grill, was station and firepit. The yurt was nothing short of luxurious with all the amenities. The wood stove we found packed and ready for ignition. Definitely coming back to this great, tidy campground

The location & setting were great. Caleb, the caretaker, was helpful and always available. The "smallness" of the campground (12 sites?), was what we wanted. The close proximity to lots of hiking trails and the shoreline were bonuses.

We didn’t end up staying at the yurt, but I don’t seem to be able to leave a review on the tiny house we stayed at. There ended up being some electrical problems with the yurt so we were given some options and ended up staying at Calebs tiny house in Stonington. It was so lovely and just the perfect space, beautiful view, and very accommodating. Would stay at the tiny house again and will definitely try to stay at the yurt another time. I Was also pleasantly surprised that four acres stay open so late into the season. Overall easy and welcoming stay, would recommend either the airbnb or campground just because the host are so nice.
