The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. I loved the lake house! Waking up and watching the ducks on the lake while we prepared breakfast was a delight. We watched newts (we think?) play in the water during the day and walked in the woods. By night, we enjoyed the fire pit and had cozy times in the house playing board games and cuddling with our dogs. This was truly a dream location and can’t wait to come back.

This is a fabulous camping spot. The host is friendly and cordial. The location is convenient to necessities, i.e. Walmart, Lowes, Planet Fitness, etc. It's a working farm, so don't expect a quiet setting. While it is serene, there's lots of animals and the noises they make. It's awesome!

1 night at The Meadows at Poplar Creek

We spent a few nights at the campsite while we explored the OHV trails and downhill mountain bike course at Windrock. The thought of tent camping in one of the huge gravel parking lots surrounded by throngs of people and the rattle of RV generators at one of the large campgrounds in the area held no appeal. This spot was peaceful and quiet, just what we were looking for. Extra bonus points for the burbling creek, the amazing assortment of birds that flew around us in the mornings, and quick and easy access to the trails. No conveniences at the site but $3.00 will buy you a shower at the Windrock Campground, and possibly other campgrounds around.

Amazing spot for groups or overlanders looking for a quiet place tucked away in the woods. The Filipino food truck and lumpia were just a bonus, this place is quiet and hidden. The campsites are well established with fire rings, there was firewood available, porta-johns, and fantastic stargazing and nature viewing. This place is a perfect getaway and a hidden gem, I can’t recommend it enough as an avid camper and overlander who spends a lot of time exploring hipcamps. One of the best I’ve ever been to!

2 nights at The Harrican Lakehouse

This cabin won me over the moment I walked in. It was warm, cozy, and the loft was surprisingly spacious. The porch is the real showstopper, and even though it was too cold to sit out for long, the views from every window were gorgeous. It even started snowing while we were there, which added this wild, magical atmosphere to the whole stay. The only downsides were the not-so-comfy seating, the heat being a little too powerful overnight, and the outhouse being a long chilly walk with a very rustic setup. None of it ruined the experience, but it is worth knowing before you go. Leslie loved the lake and all the open space to explore. I even had to hop in a kayak to fetch her ball when she refused to wade into the cold water, which felt like peak dog mom adventure energy. Slippers were clutch since the floors get cold and they were perfect for padding out onto the porch. The best moment was watching the sunrise roll in over the misty lake. Quiet, spooky, peaceful, and absolutely beautiful. I would stay again without hesitation.

I had a very peaceful stay. Personally, I love the sounds of alert farm animals. The place was very easy to find and access the campsite was easy. The place gave me a very peaceful sense of security for a few days, to leave my stuff unattended while I researched more permanent local areas. Jacob is a great guy and is there to help anyone, the best he can.

Dylan is an excellent host! He gave us our privacy His dogs are so sweet, they'll wander around but they listen well. It feels odd camping on the side of someone's driveway, however, youre within 12 minutes of a gas station and stores and it's so quiet! Would definitely recommend for a quick getaway with 4 people max. May be a tight fit for 2 tents. Definitely coming back!

Super nice quiet spot! It was my wife, dogs, and I. It was very nice to not have neighbors like at a normal campground. If our in-laws had a rv it would be nice to use both of the sites together. Owner is also very friendly. We’ve stayed here twice visiting Lake Cumberland
