Currently there is limited Wi-Fi available through the park but especially near the office on lot 50, if you need it, ask the Manager to put you near it because we are trying to provide a radiation free area for our Manager and guests.
Enjoy the beautiful new landscaping in this Resort like RV Park with twinkly lights that come on throughout the night and we have a beautiful winding creek with creek front sites. The park has paved roads, concrete pads. This is a big rig park that can handle coaches as large as 50 feet. Because we are conveniently located in the greater Louisville metropolitan area, please know there is a nearby train track that comes by a few times a day, but you get use to it, and we are only 8 miles from the Louisville International airport, but there is no freeway noise which can be very loud. We do not have bath or shower houses, or a pool, but we do have laundry facilities on site. There are showers within 2 miles at the Pilot gas station on I-65.
We strive to offer excellent customer service, so please feel free to call if you have any issues! We have an on-site Assistant Manager. Annie is located on lot 12a, and you can reach her after you arrive by calling (502) 276-6090, or look for Annie working in the park. For long term RV guests, we require RVs to be 10 years or newer. We do give variances to some Airstream and restored classic RVs with a picture pre-approval by Management plus there is a free application see our website for an application on the banner.

I've stayed at other hip camps and simply decided that I would love to share my little slice of heaven with others passing through my area. Notes: there is a wee bit of road noise, I live on a dead end road, there are 10 acres between my 5 acres and the Blue Grass Parkway. I find it peaceful here and can easily ignore it but I'm mentioning it so your not surprised by it ;) The Neighbors dog may come visit while you are here but is very nice and leaves if you tell him to :)

Using GPS Directions i would suggest avoiding Tunnel Mill Rd and Murphy Lane if towing a camper or driving an RV.

This ecological art project is currently recruiting visitors to camp in beautiful fields, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2026, camping here provides a glimpse into the 5th year of succession, which is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie that is flanked by the rocky and steep slopes of a mature forest.
Pet friendly and most likely a good fit for self-sufficient types that like campsites with generous spacing, but still want to get out to the park quickly (~7 miles to the Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for coffee/ice-cream/pizza/barbecue/bar/food/etc. Expand from the campsite into a sketch-work of trails, as if camping near the headquarters of a satellite nature reserve.
All sites except Spicebush have a filtered water output. Spicebush campers will have water access next to parking.
Camping funds allow us to plant trees (~530 seedlings as of March 2026), establish prairie grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species.
A nice way to experience Mammoth Cave NP is to break the trip into 3 layers, covering the underworld (cave tours), upper world (hiking), and the water that connects the two (Green River). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space where we imagine what is beneath the surface and how these worlds are linked, while above ground hiking on land or kayaking on the ecologically rich and biodiverse Green River. Kayaking the Green is elemental; like unplugging from one world, pure nature immersion. We offer kayaks (see extras), that leave from camp, tailored to your schedule.

Loved the place. So peaceful, quiet and scenic.
Since it was quite muddy because it had been rainy, we stayed at another camp site which had an incredibly beautiful view on the lake, and a small hill behind that made it feel very private.
Hosts were kind, attentive and welcoming, and the domain is well kept and safe. We enjoyed the sporadic company of their dog, and also appreciated very much the clean restrooms and showers. (Yes, also had hot water ) Wifi is also available around the premices, which proves practical if we needed it occasionnally.
Jeffrey’s cliff is a local hike you can do, it about 20 mins away. It was a recommended by the host. Some of the highlights of our stay were seeing a giant owl and also many hummingbirds around the main house.
Highly recomend for peaceful campers that are fond of nature and scenic surroundings.

Chuck and Val were such kind hosts. Tar springs was truly beautiful and the tent camp sights were perfect couldn’t even tell others were around us camping. We were camping 10 ft from the water and we caught some good fish ! Caught a 13 lb channel cat. The bathrooms were beautifully done and such a great amenity would recommend this place to anybody!!

Van and Chuck were such kind and accommodating hosts- sharing their hatchet, and recommendations for what to do in the area. As beekeepers we were excited to find Bee Springs Kentucky and Bee Happy Campground. Roomy camping sites though our camper is only 16 feet there were bigger ones there with plenty of room. It was clean and quiet and Christie is very responsive. The clear night sky made for some great stargazing and pictures on top of the hill.

Our family had a FANTASTIC time at Tar Springs 2 with Chuck and Van. What a beautiful place! Everything was so clean and the sites were well spread out. The lake was perfect for fishing and the paddle boats were available for use. With water and firewood readily available it made things very convenient. The guest restrooms and showers were IMMACULATE! We felt so welcomed by them and their lovely pets! We were fortunate enough to be there during their Fall Festival and enjoyed the great bluegrass music in their outdoor stage, the food truck, and the fireworks. Really, nothing is more peaceful than watching the cows roam across the land while you sip your coffee by the open fire. Even with many sites filled, there was still a sense of quiet and being secluded. We really enjoyed this trip and are planning to (at least!) go back in the fall to enjoy the Sacagawea festival in September! Book this. What a beautiful place to rest your busy soul. Thank you, Chuck and Van. We can't wait to see how big the kitties get!

Amazing place. Omg just beautiful. We stayed up the hill under the cliff so awesome. Very very cool place. Gemma and I (that’s my German Shepherd) went hiking around and we loved it. Easy hike either direction but totally amazing-must do. Chuck is very cool, they both super good people and I truly thought the world of them in a matter of minutes. Very clean well taken of property. Facilities were all there and very clean. Probably won’t camp anywhere else unless leaving the state. I have to go back to experience the beautiful lake. Yes my brother and my older son showed up the next day and we a great time, setting around the fire telling stories. Best camping spot around.

Loved this site! We arrived after sunset and our host called and offered us mag lights if we needed them. It is so nice and dark you can see soooo many stars! We arrived and just stargazed for awhile, we stargazed both nights actually. Our hosts were so nice! Super close to Mammoth Cave National Park! It looks like there’s a lot to do in the area, different caves and what not, unfortunately we didn’t have time for all those. I wish I took more pictures too.

2d is the best! We had such a good time and are definitely planning a return trip. All the glamp sites are amazing if you want to stay in a structure instead of a tent. Our R/V spot was amazing and we enjoyed having the showers right there next to our site. We enjoyed playing in the river, fishing, running around in the fields and watching for all the wildlife. The sky gazing at night was amazing as well! Thank you 2d for sharing your little slice of heaven with my family!

I loved camping at the cliffhanger! I stayed with my two dogs. It was quite hot out but our campsite stayed shady and cool! While our campsite was tucked away we were still just a couple minutes walk to a really nice and air conditioned bathroom! The cliffs provided a unique backdrop for our campsite.
