What a lovely, peaceful retreat especially for women!!! Met amazing women and also had plenty of time and space to myself. Accommodations are clean. Host and helpers are beautiful souls and so accommodating. I plan to return and bring more ladies. What a gem!!

Weekend Trip to Sonny Hills

Jennifer’s cabin is a perfect getaway. It has every amenity you could want! We got some surprise snow during our stay so the fireplace was perfect for our stay along with some games and movies. I can’t wait to come back in the spring and fall to get some use out of the hot tub, grill, and fire pit.

I loved being able to have my weekend getaway here, even with the flood warning. The directions were clearly and the hosts were very communicative. The bathroom was close, which was nice. The stay had everything I needed, from coffee to fresh water to camomile tea! Would stay again in better weather and def recommend!

2 nights at Sonny Hills

We had an incredible stay at Sonny Hills-Cabin near Shawnee Forest! The cabin itself was very cozy, very comfortable, and very well equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location couldn’t have been better, surrounded by gorgeous nature with hiking and sightseeing opportunities on site and even more in the park just a short drive away. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Their kindness and attention to detail truly made this trip extra special. Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer and we’re already looking forward to returning as soon as we can. Highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat near Shawnee Forest! 🌲✨

Weekend Trip to Sonny Hills

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway at Jennifer's cabin. The lovely water with a tree-covered hill to the east was beautiful each day. It was great to have wood provided for the fire pit, the kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and so were the couches. It was a great place to get away from our busy lives for a weekend. We visited Garden of the Gods and Dixon Spring this time but we hope to come back to explore their wooded property. And the see the doggies :) I appreciated getting myself away from the internet, although we did have good enough cell signal to be able to access the web when needed. I enjoy tent camping but did not have the energy or time for it right now and this was the perfect middle ground between tent camping and being home. I plan to recommend this cabin to my friends too and hope that we can even visit it together the next chance we can get away.

We loved this place. It had everything you could possibly need. We appreciated the fenced-in yard for our dogs, peaceful surroundings, kitchen with everything we needed for cooking, and the hot tub. Games, movies, you name it. We’ll be back!

Weekend Trip to Tall Tree Lake

Overall it was a nice site, very clean, and the sites themselves were pretty flat. Was able to settle in under the pines. Came for a late season peddle and paddle trip. Nov 8-9 so my experience could easily differ from the warmer seasons. Had the campsite pretty much to myself. There were small fire rings for campfires. No porta potty on site that I saw (again,late on the year), but was told the bathroom in the barn was available, which although a bit of a drive from the camp, but did have plumbing, so that's a good give and take. It was heavily overcast and rainy during my stay but it seems like there's be some good stargazing here as well over the lake If I'm ever back in that area I'd be sure to book again

The cabin and campsites are unaffected. We are in the middle of the Shawnee surrounded by trees, our own lake, you can hike around and walk the land in solitude, yet we are only 25 minutes to Harrisburg. The closest grocery/merchandise store is only 5 minutes away. Cabin-2BR -1 Q, 1 K/1BA sleeps 4- possible 5, Completely modernized, with Heating/ac, full kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator, coffee pot, grill, laundry, NO INTERNET. Fully equipped Kitchen with all cooking utensils, crock pot, toasters, dual flex brew coffeemaker, plates, silverware, as well as coffee, creamer, sugar, cooking oil, aluminum foil, and condiments. Large great room, with native sandstone fireplace, that has been converted to gas for easy lighting. Back deck has beautiful views of the lake and hills. Enjoy the large front porch that adjoins the back deck and wraps around 3/4 of the cabin. Secluded, private, Fire pit. Free firewood. $115.00 per night for two people, Discount for weekday stay. 2 night minimum. Tent and RV camping sites available. RV pads for self-contained campers. One Electric space available. Water available from spigot and hose. No sewer. Porta-Potty on premises. No showers. No Internet. It is suggested that campers arrive at or before sunset.
