Each tipi has it's own sitting area and firepit, suitable for cooking. The village also has a community firepit where everyone can gather. Renting the entire campground is a great way to have a party or celebration and having exclusive use of this micro-campground. HomeGrown HideAways is a farm, lodging, and event facility nestled in a hundred-acre holler in the Appalachian foothills near Berea, Ky. Our lodging features treehouses, yurts, a bunkhouse, retro camper, water/electric hook-ups, and campsites. We also host weddings, retreats, and other events so advance reservations are required. For insurance purposes and the safety of our own livestock and pets, we do not allow guests to bring their pets/ESAs onto the property. Prepare to UNPLUG as we do not have cell service or wifi (there IS a landline for guests to make phone calls located in the Community Farmhouse). All guests from tent to treehouse have access to our solar-powered Community Farmhouse featuring a fully-stocked chef-inspired kitchen, restrooms, coin-op laundry, and upstairs multi-purpose room with a library and board games. There is also an outdoor kitchen area with additional cooking space including a grill, microwave, and sink (sink is closed in the winter so the pipes don’t freeze). Next to the Farmhouse is a massive pavilion with picnic tables for al fresco dining and firewood bundles to purchase. BRING CASH! Our seasonal bath house is generally open from April or May to October or November based on the prevailing temps. There are 4 flush toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 hot showers. The floors are concrete so we recommend shower shoes and you'll want to bring your own towels and shampoo/soap. The farm has a small playground, yard games, creeks, and a steep and rugged hiking trail that loops the mountain. We're also just 8 miles from the hiking trails at the Berea College Pinnacles, 8 miles to Owsley Fork Reservoir, 20 minutes to Anglin Falls, 12 miles to Berea, 35 minutes to Richmond, Ky, and a scenic hour to Red River Gorge. For other activities, restaurants, shopping, music, and more, we're happy to share our favorites, but highly recommend checking out the Berea Tourism website.

It is a great place to write, paint, read, do yoga or just rejuvenate and "get right" with nature. Get the best sleep of your life on a Nectar mattress with the sounds of the creek drifting through the window. NEW this year - 125-yard golf driving range available. Golf balls provided. Bring your clubs! Guest access Guests have a private cabin all to themselves. They may feel free to wander around the property, venture onto the walking paths, walk in the creek, etc. The only space that is off limits is my cabin down the creek. Of course, if there is some kind of emergency, feel free to come find me. Other things to note While pets are allowed, there will be a $25 charge per day/per pet, paid to hosts upon arrival. I have a very friendly dog of my own on the property who free-roams. Also, if guests leave their pets in the cabin while they are gone, the pets must be crated. Inside the cabin, the bathroom is equipped with an Incinolet toilet. I find that it is quite efficient if used properly. Instructions will be given upon arrival and are included on the wall in the bathroom. We can only accommodate TWO guests at a time in the cabin due to the Incinolet's capability.

Weekend Trip to The Harrican Lakehouse

We loved our stay at the Harrican lakehouse. It is so secluded and quiet making it a great place to unplug and unwind. It rained most of the weekend but we didn’t care, the large covered porch kept us dry and was the perfect spot to relax and watch our dog play in the lake. My advice about the property: it is remote so pack in all the food you need. A trip to town will be take a while. The house does have steep stairs that lead to the bedrooms and the only bathroom in the house. We didn’t have any issues with it, but it could be an issue for those with limited mobility. Overall, this is a great, unique place to spend a weekend (or longer) if you are looking for a peaceful and quiet place to relax and unwind. I would highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here! This place far exceeded our expectations, and the photos simply can't capture its true charm. You really need to see it for yourself. It’s a true love nest. If you're seeking a space that combines simplicity with elegance—where you and your loved one can feel secure and secluded—this is it. Bridget was an amazing host me and my family will definitely be back ! The views are gorgeous! Here are are the plus : if you are a normal Hipcamper you will know that some glamping options are better than others. This is one of the good ones! There were little items that helped smooth our trip over Expecally with 4 kids! Pots, pans, seasonings, etc. Multiple cooking options from griddle, stove & fire pit! Now here are the things to look for, gps cuts off halfway down the road but Bridget was able to help us navigate to the property. Few outlets to bring a surge protector (we did) If you have kids, entertainment lol. And if you’re worried about temp, the heat was KICKING. lol but we had a great time and loved the area. Will be back!

We loved our trip here! It was private, peaceful, beautiful.. the perfect chance to unwind. The property was well taken care of, our kids loved it, me and my husband had a wonderful time just sitting on the porch at the end of night.. you won't regret staying here! If you have very little ones, a baby gate for the steep stairs and a pac n play or pop up pen for the porch would be ideal. But all in all, a perfect family trip

I loved staying at the lake house. It absolutely exceeded our expectations. The cabin was clean and cozy. We enjoyed fishing all day, exploring the woods, and grilling dinner right on the deck! I was sad to leave. We will definitely be back.
