This ecological art project is currently recruiting visitors to camp in beautiful fields, on woodland rim sites, or at delicate campsites located along a system of woodland trails. As of 2026, camping here provides a glimpse into the 5th year of succession, which is characterized by spacious views of a gently rolling young prairie that is flanked by the rocky and steep slopes of a mature forest.
Pet friendly and most likely a good fit for self-sufficient types that like campsites with generous spacing, but still want to get out to the park quickly (~7 miles to the Visitors Center) or travel into Cave City (3 mi) for coffee/ice-cream/pizza/barbecue/bar/food/etc. Expand from the campsite into a sketch-work of trails, as if camping near the headquarters of a satellite nature reserve.
All sites except Spicebush have a filtered water output. Spicebush campers will have water access next to parking.
Camping funds allow us to plant trees (~530 seedlings as of March 2026), establish prairie grasses and flowers, restore wetlands, create trails, and remove invasive species.
A nice way to experience Mammoth Cave NP is to break the trip into 3 layers, covering the underworld (cave tours), upper world (hiking), and the water that connects the two (Green River). Mammoth Cave is unique in the way that a study of the underworld will repeatedly draw the mind into a creative space where we imagine what is beneath the surface and how these worlds are linked, while above ground hiking on land or kayaking on the ecologically rich and biodiverse Green River. Kayaking the Green is elemental; like unplugging from one world, pure nature immersion. We offer kayaks (see extras), that leave from camp, tailored to your schedule.

Please read the site descriptions carefully to match your style of camping with the appropriate campsite. BBA guests frequently camp with a tent, vehicle, smaller camper, hammock tent, roof top tent, pop-up camper and similar styles. Most photos in this listing are taken onsite. Please keep in mind this is primitive and wild Tennessee landscape that may also contain poisonous plants and wildlife in or around camp.
Access to fresh water fun is a short down-hill hike for all guests, with the exception of our hike-in campsites which are positioned alongside the river. Each spot has been strategically selected to provide as much privacy as possible, and comfortably accommodates groups with two vehicles. We provide a rock fire pit and heavy-duty, cast-iron grill grate. You provide everything else, including drinking water and personal toilet waste bags if you plan to use our system. The hike-in sites come with extra seating. Every guest must be included on your reservation, and adult guests may be required to provide identification. Thank you!
COMMUNITY COMFORT STATION: There is a comfort station with an outdoor shower stall for hanging your own solar shower bag. The comfort station also includes a changing room which doubles as a private place to use your portable camping toilet. A toilet seat and bucket system is provided but guests will need to use their own waste disposal bags, available at most camping supply stores. The backside of the comfort station has a rain barrel (not potable) collection system for extinguishing fires.
OFF-ROAD CONDITIONS: Due to the primitive nature of our location, all reservations should expect hilly terrain and potential bumpy or some muddy road access, especially after heavy rain. We ask all guests to help us minimize impacts by driving with care. Vehicles with low ground clearance or low-profile tires are no longer permitted to use the off-road drive and must park at the entrance. If you want a campsite with the shortest walk from the entrance parking area, you will want to select campsite 5, 9 or 6. When the road is open during unusually wet periods, we recommend AWD or 4WD as a precaution. We are continuously working on improvements for our off-road drive.
Belle and Beau Acres is a farm homestead with a personal campground, conveniently located less than five minutes from I40. Expect nothing short of 360 degree views of relaxing nature, privacy, and spontaneous adventure when recreating at this agritourism location. Central to the most beautiful middle Tennessee destinations, BBA is the perfect home base for hiking, biking, kayaking, and fishing excursions to at least 10 nearby state parks and lakes. Conveniently located on the Eastern Highland Rim between Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga in the lower Appalachian mountains, this area sits at the Upper Cumberland Plateau and is part of Tennessee's largest micropolitan area of Cookeville. Christine’s land is so special. I had a great experience and I left so restored- exactly what I needed. I hope to suit up with lighter gear and camp but the river sometime in the future. Spending my afternoon there was truly so peaceful, but I loved my site (no. 6) and its blanket of green trees and incredible birdsong and butterflies. Truly can’t wait to visit again! Easy to find, and super close to most of the attractions we saw at the National Park. I recommend purchasing the firewood bundles. It’s convenient and you’re not moving firewood, which promotes their restoration project. Although the site is mostly primitive (you do have potable water), it feels inviting with the stone fire ring, two chairs waiting on you, and manicured paths. The field is scenic and serene. Far enough from other sites, it feels like you’re the only ones there even if you’re not. Kevin was responsive and hospitable. Both mornings a pair of geese flew directly over the campsite at dawn, honking as they passed. We could also hear turkeys, chickens, and songbirds. Kevin is full of advice, so be sure to ask him if you need local tips.

Cute and private place. Easy to find. Loved the map they provided! With T-mobile, I had 5g everywhere on the property. Host was very nice and provided us change for the firewood we bought. We stayed in site 3 with our two dogs and our tree frog friend, and though we had neighbors, at the next site, they were far away. The site was clean, cared for, and opens into the star-gazing field, with a short walk to the comfort area.
The waterfall hike is steep but short, and there was beautiful spring flowers growing everywhere, including lots of trillium! Beautiful!
Springtime in Tennessee is sure to bring ticks, and this was no exception! After our hike, we found 2 on us, so make sure to bring spray and check yourselves and clothes/bedding well! This is not a complaint, it is an inevitable issue to be aware of!

The place was very quiet with only a faint hint of distant cars, and the place was overall peaceful with some nice small trails to walk and the star gazing field was cool too. So glad I found this spot so close to Mammoth cave! My girlfriend and I loved it there and Kevin is a great host and gave us some good recommendations of things to do around the area. A pretty magical spot for us - beautiful sunrises/sunsets, starry nights, and it may sound weird, perhaps we were seeing things, but my girlfriend and I kept seeing what looked like gnomes walking around in the woods?? Are gnomes part of Kentucky folklore?? Either way, they seemed friendly and I highly recommend this spot!

Nice little spot by a creek. My son loved it and two farm dogs and a German shepherd stayed with us the entire time. It was peaceful for the most part. There's a state highway really close and another road extremely close and that should probably be made more prominent in the description. Traffic was loud at times and we weren't expecting that. Gil was nice and gave us some eggs which were delicious! We enjoyed it.

I loved it here!!! I enjoyed meeting the owners who were so kind, welcoming and responsive. I felt very safe and loved falling asleep to the sound of the creek. It was exactly what I needed. I will definitely be back as soon as possible!

We just loved our stay at the farm, from the dogs to the river, to the peacefulness, we can’t wait to come back again. The host is super friendly and the eggs were a nice gift.

I only stayed one night on a trip driving to FL but my pup and I enjoyed the site. So close to Mammoth Cave NP where we did a great hike. Would stay again!
