3 nights at Clayton Geneva Memorial Camp Ground

What a wonderful way to begin summer camp season! We stayed with our dog at Don's Watch and adored waking with the sunny riverbank each morning, yet covered by harsh rays with comforting tree coverage. Amber's genuine knack for hospitality and friendly spirit made us feel right at home. Got to meet the sweetest pregnant Jersey cow named Journey on our final night at dusk, which is just one of the many experiences you can add on to your stay. We chose this site in particular for our annual roadtrip for the simple luxuries of nature, kindness and the enjoyment of taking time to simply "be". We can't wait to come back again with friends and family! 🏕🥾🎣🌄

The views alongside the river were beautiful. However the road leading to the camp sites was atrocious. It needs some attention. I would not recommend going there during or after heavy rain. Amber did warn me about the conditions after I had booked. Do your homework before booking or call Amber.

Me and my husband loved staying here! It was very peaceful and quiet. Amber was a great host and very informative about local attractions and things we could check out around the campground. We loved feeding the animals and seeing all the cats!

Emma’s land is so beautiful! She was our late night hero as we had difficulty finding a place to stay (unexpected campground closures along the way). She was responsive and friendly - making sure we knew exactly where to go. Sleeping under the stars with the gentle flow of the nearby creek and waking up to beautiful birdsongs and frog choruses was a lovely reset along our traveling way. There was also a clean toilet space we could use. Excited for Emma’s hopes to keep transforming the space! Until then, if you need to park your truck with your popup tent or pitch a tent for the night, this is a lovely spot!!

Amber was a great host! Kept me updated regularly on the weather. Would love to come back to this quiet little river side place during the dry season. Had some bad storms but was kept updated by amber regularly. Even offered to move me to a different site. The site itself was nice. Right by the river. Perfect little getaway to do some fishing. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Amber was a kind and helpful host during our trip. She greeted us when we arrived and answered our questions. If we needed her, she was just a quick message away. We didn't have any cell service as expected, but the wifi was a nice touch. Our trip was unfortunately super rainy- the sites get extremely muddy with rain, which was expected due to the listing info. Be sure to bring extra tarps and appropriate shoes if the weather shows rain! The hill to get down to the sites by the river is just fine without weather, but it can be a challenge with rainy conditions. That being said, my SUV (Subaru) made it up the hill with no issues. This site is a hidden treasure! We throughly enjoyed our stay over Easter weekend and loved how accommodating the hosts were. Shaylen left some firewood to start us out which was so helpful. Also, we caught a turtle fishing on the lake so that was a huge highlight. Thanks for an amazing stay and can’t wait for next time!

The bathrooms were impressively clean and well-maintained, which made a big difference. Our host was fantastic—super welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely come back!

We offer camping ranging from primitive tent sites, to an actual cabin. Hikers, kayakers, canoes, Horses and riders welcome, located a couple miles from Daniel Boone National Forrest, seemingly endless trails through some of the most beautiful country. Bring your canoe and kayaks. Located 16 miles from Cumberland Falls State Park. Located 11 miles from Sheltowee Trade Adventure Park. Located 11 miles from Kentucky Splash Water Park. 11 miles from The Mint Casino!! Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family. Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

This secluded spot on a private drive is a perfect little getaway location. You have lake view and lake access by foot. Vehicles can be parked on the 25 ft stretch of grass pad above the campsite, or pulled down the hill … (please note the word HILL) onto site at vehicle owners' discretion. Fire pit is on premise and ready for use with a walking trail to the water. Kayaks are available for rental to navigate Cherokee Lake. Trees surround you full of wild rabbits, birds and squirrels. Down at the water about 50 ft from your site you have the availability to fish, wade in the water, Kayak, or sit and watch the ducks, geese, turtles and more. This is a private drive but has four sites so please respect other tenants who have come to enjoy seclusion and serenity during their stay. We are in a rural area about 22 minutes from main town. However, there are restaurants, a Blue Bell ice cream parlor, a grocery store and post office all within 8 minutes. We are 12 minutes from one of the best Disc Golf courses, 25 minutes from Parks/trails/waterfalls, and only about an hour from major tourist sites in Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg/ Knoxville/Bristol Speedway. You will have solitude during your stay but opportunities for communication and aid from the host is available. The site can be busier during holiday breaks as this is OFF a main road and is on Cherokee lake so noise echos on the water, and there may be other renters checking in other units just a heads up. This area is an old tobacco and cattle farm on a point above Laurel Lake. We do a bit of farming and crafting when we can and thought we’d try and share our lovely spot! Much of the timber on the place is nearly 100 years old hardwoods, with a couple of fields throughout. I camp here myself too, and can recommend it for privacy! Learn more about this land: You can park an RV or trailer on these private sites within a 10min drive or short walk to Laurel Lake! Gravel roads to a field capable of holding up to two trailers with more planned in time! Primitive sites, Quiet n private. These sites are also within 10 mi of both London and Corbin Ky, with services available at both. Scenic Cumberland Falls is a short 25 min drive, and this place is adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest with plenty of hiking nearby.
