Great spot for getting in the water

The site was mostly secluded. The houses next door are visible but we never felt like we were camping near them. The site isn’t as level as we had hoped for our larger tent but we made it work. The main road isn’t too far from the site and you can definitely hear the traffic. If you have dogs and/or kayaks it’s definitely a good spot for getting in the water! The complimentary firewood was a great addition and we would definitely come camp again.

The campsite is on a hill, it’s not easy to find a flat spot to sleep. Most of the site is at an angle. Just a heads up! I wasn’t expecting it, but if I had a better heads up I think it would have been fine.

This site is a hidden treasure! We throughly enjoyed our stay over Easter weekend and loved how accommodating the hosts were. Shaylen left some firewood to start us out which was so helpful. Also, we caught a turtle fishing on the lake so that was a huge highlight. Thanks for an amazing stay and can’t wait for next time!

This would be a great spot for an intro to primitive camping. The trash can was great so you don’t have to drive your garbage out, and the fire pit was nice too. The water was low, but it made it a nice ‘beachfront’ that we could let the dogs run on and it was very secluded as far as people at the lake. So that was great!
The cons were things that the owner can’t control, so no shade to them at all. The site is very close to the main road that is pretty active at all hours- so the traffic noises were very loud & didn’t stop through the night. There was also a dog on someone’s property nearby that barked all night long (not the owners dog!). We love to get away from noises of the hustle and bustle of life when we camp & didn’t quite get that here - maybe if you had a tear drop camper or something like that! Because then the noise wouldn’t matter while trying to sleep. Or if you’re a heavy sleeper you may be able to sleep through it.
With the water so low, we came across a lotttt of broken glass and rusted barbed wire- so if you’re bringing little ones or dogs be on the lookout! We tried to pick up as much as we could- but it probably wouldn’t be an issue when the water is high! Again, these aren’t things the owner can control but they are good to know if you are coming to this spot!

Great little spot. The lake is gorgeous and such a delight to swim in! Although you can see some houses from the campsite, it was a pretty private area. The traffic from the road is a bit loud, but it wasn’t crazy loud. My dog and I will definitely be back!

My Boo, pup. & I set up camp at Shaylen’s place for the weekend. We had plenty of space for a tent, E-Z Up, and a potty tent. We brought our kayaks and paddled around the lake. Although the place was not as remote as I anticipated, it didn’t take away from the experience. We felt isolated enough. It was a great weekend. I’d recommend it.

What a beautiful spot right by the lake! Shaylens communication was wonderful and we absolutely loved this site, my niece has d a blast paddle boarding by the campsite too. we’ll definitely be back.

Absolutely recommend this place to anyone! The view was perfect. Not only that when we needed something we had fast responses and the people were extremely nice. we will be coming back!

Honda element and a paddle boards were the perfect accessories here.
This was the perfect location. Very secluded and private. Heard a voice or two a time or two but didnt see anyone else the whole time there. you have your own private corner/nook of the property and it feels like its all yours. Easy/Private access to Lake Cherokee and an oasis for paddle boarders or if you just love a great swimming hole! Your shaded by trees and comforted by a nice breeze but of course nature is still around. plenty of birds to fill the sound waves around and some bugs/mosquitos but nothing to write home about, its camping. Shaylen was a gracious host and a great communicator. I look forward to the next time out!

Showed up at this site and it was just so sweet how welcoming the host was. They left a lil table with essentials like bug spray, candles, water, lighter and kindlin. The lake water was above normal levels so the host let me go to their lil platform with level land to water. The pups enjoyed ball fetching in the lake, and i enjoyed the whole camping experience here. I highly recommend this place for time away from a busy life. Thank you Shaylen for opening ur land up to hipcampers like me. Ill definately be back.
