The Hughes Holler camp site is located in the mix grassed prairie of central Kansas. The site was once a homestead of some of the early pioneers of the area. While none of the remnants of the former farmstead remain. The the tranquility of sitting at a campfire on the banks of the pond can let ones mind wonder about what life would have been like living there in days gone by.
The site includes a spring fed pond with abundant fishing, predominately white bass. Guests are allowed to keep any fish they wish to eat on site. But please release any others back into the pond. There is a wooded area which provides nice shade for an area to relax from the Kansas summer sun and wind. Campers can also enjoy a camp fire either pond side of underneath the trees.
Sleeping accommodations are in a deluxe water proof tent. There are 2 queen air mattress which will comfortably sleep 4 people.

We only stayed one night on our trip from Louisiana to Montana, but it was a lovely stay! The hosts were friendly. The place was easy to find, neat and well kept and so peaceful. It was cool to see the cows and guineas on the property also. We LOVED the store! So much so that we went twice in the same afternoon. The beef jerky was the best we’ve ever had! And the coffee!! Wish I had space to buy a case to bring with me. Wonderful place, will definitely stay again in the future if ever back in the area.

Completely full hookups for a single site! The site is secluded but on the outskirts of a working farm with auditory and visual access to a lot (most) of the farm animals. Picnic table and firepit grill provided. For sewer hookup, you need at least 25 feet of hose to reach access. Larger/taller rigs might have tree limb issues. Technically there are 2 premium ways to use the site; both back in. You could pull in with small rigs. Take an outdoor mat: you will need it for the coarse sand used specifically for the well lit site. The fireflies were so numerous and sunset was incredible. Host is very responsive on app and their fresh eggs - well we bought 5 dozen… We will be back! Love Kona the sweetest farm dog ever!

Daniel was very helpful host. I had a problem with my large cooler and he helped me sort it out. The site was very roomy and I was able to pull my camper around and remained attached without having to back up . I arrived the evening before a huge wind storm that was going to encompass all of my route the next day, so Daniel offered for me to stay another day, which I did. I’m glad that he told me about the wind storm because I would not have known about it and it would’ve not been fun driving in it. Due to the circumstances he offered to let me stay a second night gratis, but that was not necessary, I was grateful for the spot.

What a great campsite they have set up for travelers to stop and rest amongst the farm animals. Site was very well set up with fire pit (ask before you light it), picnic table, cute lights and full hookups!

I enjoyed staying on Erma’s land! It was beautiful and peaceful. Her setup was great - string lights, picnic table and electric hook ups. Oh did I mention that she has a miniature horse?!?! I would definitely recommend this place and would sure love to stay again!

The view of the stars was amazing. It was fun having all the farm animals around. It was quiet all night, and we knew with a flock of guinea hens roosting behind us, that no one was going to sneak up on us while we were sleeping. Lol. Erma was in touch by message if we needed anything.
