I am located to the West of Interstate 29 off exit 95 halfway between Omaha, Nebraska and Sioux City, Iowa. It is near where the Little Sioux River meets the Missouri River. There is river access with bank fishing and a boat ramp. The Loess Hills are nearby and the state forest. There are small lakes in the surrounding areas and Lewis and Clark parks with beautiful views.

Rolling Acres Farm is a seventeen acre oasis/sanctuary in a sea of corn and soybeans. Larry grew up on this land that we steward. This farmstead has been using organic practices for fifty years. We are a shelter for birds, mammals and bees.
The campsites are on a flat, grassy surface with 110 electrical hook up and water hydrant that is supplied by our private well. Because we have been organically certified, our 160 feet deep well has been tested for the last twenty years for ecoli and nitrates. Our water is very safe but It is high in iron. The campsites are located in an area that we used to grow vegetables, near an old orchard and where we graze sheep.
Elk Horn is a Danish Village just up the road with the Danish Museum of America and a newly built Thomas Dambo Troll Fjord Faergemand.

I stayed at the Fence Post in October, after water was shut off for the winter. HOWEVER, when I made the reservation, the host was very quick to tell me this… so I was prepared! Kathy was great about giving instructions to get to the spot (make sure you don’t come in too close to the building!), and how to leave if backing up was a problem. The area behind me was very spacious so it was “easy” to back out and drive out! ( I say “easy,” because I’m new at travel trailering and backing up isn’t ever really easy for me - yet!!). I was very pleased with how level it was - from a picture I had seen, I didn’t expect that! Woo hoo! Lots of green space available to walk the dogs. This was a one-night stay - just passing through. I noted that others discussed traffic noise. It is true, it is not too far off the road BUT, I didn’t hear a thing (& I didn’t have tv or music on!!)! I am happy to recommend it to other hipcampers! Thanks Kathy… and I hope you have a great winter!

I Was here for a quick overnight while driving through town. It’s right off the interstate and easy to find. The property was well cared for and bathroom was clean. Kathy was very responsive and the directions for parking and hooking up were clear.

The Fence Post is conveniently located right off highway 29. It was a perfect spot to post up for the night on my journey across the US. There is a nice field right in front of the parking spot. A few reviews mention highway noise. You can hear it but it didn’t feel bothersome and with a fan on, I couldn’t hear it at all.
I would stay here again!

Kathy’s Fence Post was safe and easy to hook up. Very quiet and great for a stop along a trip. She also had great recommendations for additional stops on my trip. I highly recommend the fence post if you are looking to stay a night or two.

Quiet little spot along the highway. We did not find it loud, rather we had a very peaceful night. Kathy was responsive and let us know exactly what we needed to pull right in and settle for the evening. One of the campers came and checked on us as well. The only issue is the water is very high in iron, and even with our 3 stage filter we found it unsuitable for use. Otherwise, great spot for a layover!!
