Small hobby sheep farm, with a sheep pasture surrounded by woods. There are two shepherd's huts, three tent sites, a small fishing pond with a log cabin and a quarter of a mile hiking trail. It is a bird lovers paradise with a large variety of birds. The fisherman's cabin has electricity. The shepherd's huts are off grid, as well as, the tent sites. Each site is very private and has a fire ring and picnic table and benches.

Walnut Valley Realm Campground

Camping like it was meant to be!  Come stay with us and explore one of the largest privately owned certified forest in Indiana.   Many of our sites are spread out so far you will feel like you are the only ones here.  We have three 30AMP electric sites and one with 20AMP service, with the remaining sites all primitive. Over 5 miles of hiking trails, and if you prefer cycling, local roads are part of the Two Rivers on Two Wheel bike route. If Kayaking is your thing, explore the Eel River, or the Tippecanoe. Welcome to Camp David, a quiet riverside cabin tucked away on an old family farm along the banks of the Tippecanoe River. This simple, off-the-grid retreat is made for those looking to fish, float, or just watch the water drift by while soaking up the sounds of the woods.

Wildlife is your neighbor here—you might spot deer wandering the fields, otters slipping through the water, or turkeys and songbirds calling through the trees. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the deck, casting a line in the river, or building a campfire as the sun sets, nature is always nearby. ☕️ 🪵

The Cabin:

Mirror Lake Bunkhouse llc

You talk about social distancing Mirror Lake  is the place for you.  All of the Mirror Lake properties are private. There is 175 acres here at mirror lake and the lake is approximately 12 acres. With Amish farms and families all around.  The Mirror Lake Bunkhouse has all amenities. You are welcome to cook over an open fire, use the grill or the small kitchen accessories provided. don’t forget the option is always available to go out to dinner with a restaurant only 4 miles away. Although we are located in the middle of the country. You can wake up to beautiful sunrises or take in breath taking sunset in the evening.  The lake is a private lake owned by three property owners. Our Cabin # 2  “Old Phil”  Is located on the west side of the lake in a 15 acre woods. About 1-1/2 miles away is Our cabin # 1 “Little Elk” Is located near the little Elkhart River. Nestled in its own 10 acre woods. Both of these properties are primitive ( no running water in an out house for a bathroom). Firewood is provided and there are trails in the woods to walk. The Mirror lake property has been a family farm for over 185 years. There is a family cemetery that dates to 1832. If you want to be around a lot of people in the fast track this is not the place for you. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, tranquil, social distance but still enjoyed this is the place for you!

Creekwood Cottage

Primitive cabin with board games, water dispenser, a/c, WiFi, linens, coffee, cutlery and plates, and towels

There is a bathroom but no shower. There is a local YMCA for showers or Miami Recreational with a bathhouse.

The Riding Stable and Resort

When we bought this property in 2013, it was a little run down. Many years ago, it housed sheep and cows. We revamped our little 15-acre farm and continue to improve its looks. Now it is our home and houses my riding stable. Many people have commented on how nice it is. I thought this would be a great opportunity to share its beauty and the animals with others.

We have 3 spots to pitch a tent, but we're pretty flexible. If you see another area, please ask!.  Site "Woods" is most secluded.   We now have a cabin!!  Our "Chalet".  It will sleep 4 and has some great amenities. The others are around our grassy barnyard area where you're able to enjoy all of our different animals!. All sites are 2-5 mins from the main house. You will be staying on our horse farm. We have many chickens, bunnies, a potbelly pig, feeder pigs (depending on the time of year),  and our 4 house dogs. We offer overnight equine amenities as well.&nbsp;There are 2 showering options and restroom available.

You can enjoy a small fire (weather dependent) or listen to the crickets and frogs under the starry night. Actually, you can do it all. We offer trail rides on the horses as well, (extra charges). You can even book a trip to the state park to ride the horse trails, which is only 15 minutes away. There is a great fishing lake less than 1 mile from the farm, so bring your poles and kayaks. Or rent ours! 

There is a Dollar General, 2 gas stations, and a liquor store&nbsp;in our tiny little town if you forget anything. Walmart is 12 minutes North of us.

This is a nice shaded area where we offer spots.  Plenty of room for multiple tents without crowding.  Horses are in this field during the spring summer and fall from approximately 8 am to 9 PM EST.  The storms here recently have created some changes. 

Behind this horse, in the wooded area, are more spots to camp.

Tippecanoe River Stays

Nestled along the scenic banks of the Tippecanoe River, our unique collection of accommodations offers something for every type of traveler, from rustic adventurers to those seeking a cozy retreat with modern comforts. Whether you're looking to fully disconnect in a primitive cabin surrounded by nature or enjoy the charm of a rustic studio with essential amenities, our property provides a variety of experiences to suit your preferences.

- Primitive Cabin #1: This is a primitive cabin overlooking the Tippecanoe River. There's a toilet facility near the cabin. It includees one double bed with NO sheets or pillows provided. There's an upper bunk area that sleeps two, a picnic table, and firewood. 
- Primitive Cabin #2: The cabin has 1 double bed and loft sleeping. No beds, sheets, pillows or blankets are provided in the loft. The cabin has no electricity or no water inside but does have a flushing toilet near and a hand wash station nearby.
- German Haus - a private rustic studio cabin with Queen bed, a twin daybed, kitchenette, 2 chairs, kitchen table, and shower bathroom. It's great for the outdoor type person. 
- The Kite Suite: This is a family suite with King bed bedroom, a queen bed with overhead single sleeper, and available rollaway. It has a full bathroom, WIFI, TV, kitchenette with MW, coffee pot, toaster oven, sink, and utensils.
- The Oriental Suite: This suite has a Queen bed and single daybed sleeper with a jacuzzi tub bathroom for single/double occupancy. Has a sitting room, wide screen TV, Internet TV, kitchenette, fridge, MW, toaster oven, full kitchen utensils, and coffee pot. Overlooks River and woods. 

Country Bungalow

We bought this one acre property tucked in the corner of the woods a little more than 2 years ago from the family who built it and lived here for 69 years. It was all original since 1946! The dairy and the farmland around us has been family-owned for over 100 years! Our little acre has become a sweet little hidden secret to all who visit. Quiet and beautiful, yet close to all the quaintness Fort Wayne has to offer. The sunrises are amazing! For nature lovers, there are so many different birds that frequent our trees, even an occasional Bald Eagle! We have renovated the tiny shed into an occasional repurpose shop and now are opening it up for a comfortable glamping spot! We continue to work on renovating our home to eventually welcome more guests. We feel like God saved this sweet spot just for us, so we can't help but share it with others! We hope all who stay, feel the same!

Bring your own tent (This is a tent only campground and Primitive)  and enjoy the 5 acres of land that is Certified by the National Wildlife Federation. There are two Nearby  Lakes, there is the Mississinewa Reservoir and the Salamone Reservoir, there are beaches to lay at and swimming allowed, both of these places are not far from StarCountryAcres Wildlife Habitat. Less than 25 miles.

Bring a GPS to find these two lakes. 

If you love watching birds then this is the place to see them, bring your binoculars,scopes and camera's.

In the summer you can enjoy the two big Montmorency Cherry Trees, pick and eat all you want.The cherries are all gone but its Blackberry time pick all you want Free..

There&nbsp;are&nbsp;also&nbsp;Raspberry Blackberry&nbsp;Bushes&nbsp;you&nbsp;can&nbsp;pick in&nbsp;mid&nbsp;July.

There is now a 24x8 Screen house, it has a table and chairs and also a bench, on the other end of the screenhouse there is a POTTY. The screen house is for campers who want to eat and not have to worry about bugs buzzing around their food. We have tables and chairs in the screen house.

We moved to our 3 1/2 acre property in 2012 to escape town life and to enjoy a more simple family life.  Nestled among the trees, our home is the perfect setting to relax and enjoy what God created - singing birds, fragrant flowers, colorful sunsets, gigantic ancient sycamores, and rushing creek waters.  We're excited to share this beautiful area, especially the adorable shed and gardens we created for others to experience the peace of God.  It's our hope that many will discover the tranquility we have come to appreciate here.Learn more about this land:The Shed Retreat is a sacred space for anyone looking to shed their worries, fears, and busy schedules. Once a home for goats located in a secluded area on our property, it is now a peaceful garden oasis among the trees for those seeking a break from the norm. Inside, you can enjoy a cozy and relaxing place to lounge or rest.&nbsp; Outside, you can spend time around the fire pit, collect fresh eggs for breakfast, kayak on a nearby river, bike to local ice cream shops, or take a nap in a hammock.

Our foot pedal sink allows you to brush your teeth and freshen up indoors.

Books, games, paper products, fire extinguisher, and first aid supplies available for you to use.

Watch the chickens and cats and listen to the singing birds from the porch.

Our outdoor camping toilet and shower are easy to use with instructions posted for your convenience.

Our location is also home to our fantasy destination, The Fun Farm.  Not only is the scenery replete with natural beauty - the pond, the fields, the sledding hill, the nature trail through the forest - but also a setting to engage the imagination!&nbsp;

&nbsp;Additional services may be arranged on-site.  For example, who would you like to have breakfast with?  A superhero?  A princess? Or perhaps a souvenir caricature of you and your group is in order to commemorate the experience? Maybe an experiential art, dance, drama or music lesson?  Guided tours of the grounds can also be arranged to learn more about the history of the farm and it's originality.  

If you're interested in a "day trip" or even a limited event, we have the facilities to accommodate your birthday or holiday, engage in art Classes, raise funds for your good cause or enjoy "something different" for this year's corporate party. We're also open to your ideas for a custom school, festival or carnival event. We can accommodate groups from 1 to 400 (maybe more, if we send a few enchanted creatures on vacation!)  

MORE NOTES ABOUT THE CAMPSITE: We're flexible with wherever you would like to pitch your tent, but the spots we have established are next to our cabin (where the lighting is best and the ground is flattest.) Parking is most easily found next to these sites as well (and the lighting is also excellent.)&nbsp; Also, in the near vicinity, a shared firepit is readily available and can accommodate at least 12 people.
