Enjoy a stay at Heritage Farm and experience all the exhilaration that an Indiana farm has to offer. Heritage Farm is a working alpaca farm with over 50 alpacas you can watch and interact with. Also residing on the farm are a flock of chickens, several goats and a horse. The newest addition to the farm is a pain of small breed Kune Kune pigs! If you want to, you can help with the daily chores of feeding the animals and collecting eggs. After that, you can explore the big red barn that was selected as one of the top-ten Bicentennial barns in the state. Roam around the 120 acre homestead, woods and creek and soak in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm. Be sure to visit our farm store before you leave where you can shop for alpaca products such as sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves. Pick up some honey made from bees on our farm or some farm fresh eggs from our flock of pastured chickens! Heritage Farm has several options for overnight lodging. One of the most popular places to stay is in our authentic 1850's log cabin. And it's certainly special to us as well. The cabin represents a valued part of our heritage. It reminds us every day of our agricultural roots, solid values and the importance of faith and family. Our Philosophy You want to have a wonderful stay at Heritage Farm and we want that for you too. This is your retreat for however long you are staying and we hope you'll be relaxed, comfortable and happy. Our Faith Our Christian faith is important to us. We have been so richly blessed with this farm and sharing it with others is what God has called us to do. We strive to show God's love to our guests by exceeding their needs and expectations and by inviting them to enjoy his beautiful creation. We abide by what it says in the Bible in 1 Peter 4:9-10: "Cheerfully share your home with those who need a place to stay. God has given each of us a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Many of our sites are spread out so far you will feel like you are the only ones here. We have 4 electric sites with the rest primitive. Over 5 miles of hiking trails, and if you prefer cycling, local roads are part of the Two Rivers on Two Wheel bike route. If Kayaking is your thing, explore the Eel River, or the Tippecanoe. Not only is the scenery replete with natural beauty - the pond, the fields, the sledding hill, the nature trail through the forest - but also a setting to engage the imagination! Additional services may be arranged on-site. For example, who would you like to have breakfast with? A superhero? A princess? Or perhaps a souvenir caricature of you and your group is in order to commemorate the experience? Maybe an experiential art, dance, drama or music lesson? Guided tours of the grounds can also be arranged to learn more about the history of the farm and it's originality. If you're interested in a "day trip" or even a limited event, we have the facilities to accommodate your birthday or holiday, engage in art Classes, raise funds for your good cause or enjoy "something different" for this year's corporate party. We're also open to your ideas for a custom school, festival or carnival event. We can accommodate groups from 1 to 400 (maybe more, if we send a few enchanted creatures on vacation!) MORE NOTES ABOUT THE CAMPSITE: We're flexible with wherever you would like to pitch your tent, but the spots we have established are next to our cabin (where the lighting is best and the ground is flattest.) Parking is most easily found next to these sites as well (and the lighting is also excellent.) Also, in the near vicinity, a shared firepit is readily available and can accommodate at least 12 people.
