We offer a "Camping Cabin", The "Cozy Camping Cottage" or tent camping in Black Walnut Grove, in an open field, in the woods, or a shady grove. We like to interact with people or you can keep to yourself and have a quiet getaway in the woods. Sorry, but the tree house isn't available to rent since it is my home. We are on a solar powered, off the grid 30 acre homestead that has 24 acres of wooded land and 6 acres of groomed land. You can explore our interesting topography that has close to 100 foot of elevation changes, our (mostly) dry creek system that starts with 2 springs that drain into 3 sinkholes or walk 3 miles of trails (if you follow each trail from end to end).
We love groups - Host your event here or have a group gathering with all your friends and family. We have spaces large enough to host hundreds of people.
We welcome pets for camping, but no pets allow in the Camping Cabin. Also be aware that we have 2 friendly dogs on the land that roam freely.

Our cabins sits on 100 acres.
Our cabins have AC/Heat. A dry sink are in each cabin are provided. Roast hotdogs over your private fire pit as
a fire pit is just outside the cabin along with private picnic table. We have a shower bathroom house. You provide your own towel, and soap products.
Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash and under your control at all times. Privy's are found just outside the cabin.
We have miles of hiking trails and several spring fed creeks so take your hiking boots off and wade in the clean cool water.
Stars are in abundance at Guthrie Meadows so star gazing is a must!

The Cabin is powered by solar &; wind and uses a filtered rain water collection system. It is close to French Lick & Paoli, hiking, golf, canoeing, spelunking, skiing hunting and more. Please note that during the winter months the angle of the sun is lower and the panels do not produce as much power as in the summer months (plus you have less daylight hours) . Depending on the cloud cover you may be limited to lights only in November, December, January and February . There is a generator available for rent at $10.00 per night plus gas or you can bring your own. There is a wood stove and a 13,000 btu indoor gas wall heater for heat, both units provide more than enough heat. There are two window air conditioning units that can be used in, June, July and August. Once you get to the end of August or on cloudy days you are limited to the amount of time you can use the AC units unless you rent the generator. There is a propane cook stove available if you run out of power and 2 charcoal grills (you supply charcoal). Please note that the cabin is still a work in progress and is not 100% completed. Also note that if rain is limited there may be no water.

Kerry was a great host. Cabin was clean, spot was spacious, outhouses and showers were good. Very quiet area, no road or people noise and at night all you heard were the bugs and frogs. Couple of nice, chill dogs roaming around that hung out with us and walked some trails. Lots of trails and scenic areas within half an hour. All in all a great site to get away too. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Cabins at Guthrie Meadows
Absolutely perfect! Would love to stay here again. Some of our favorite amenities were the AC (and there's a heater available for when it's cold, but we didn't use it), the mini fridge, and the hot shower (the blue door cabin is the closest in walking distance to the showers). Each site has its own outhouse, and there was enough distance and trees between us and the next cabin to feel private for sure. What especially made this trip so special for us was the animals - waking up to see alpacas and horses, frogs, and a giant leopard moth! There's great hiking on site with geodes to admire (and important to leave them alone).

Kerry was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. There’s no network signal in the area but they have a wifi. Our cottage was just near the bathroom so it was very convenient as well. Despite the heatwave alert, the temp was manageable because there’s so much trees and shade in the area. Make sure to bring insect repellent as there a lot of insects roaming around, though the cottage has a screen to protect it from being invaded by insects especially at night.

Weekend Trip to Happy Hollow Homestead
We stayed at Happy Hollow Homestead this past weekend for my birthday, and even though it poured rain almost the entire time and parts of the property were flooded, it was honestly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed.
We ended up being the only campers there, which I’m sure had everything to do with the weather, but it made for such a peaceful reset. The trees were absolutely beautiful, the property was well cared for, and one thing I really noticed was how clean everything was. There wasn’t trash laying around anywhere. You could tell the owner really loves this place.
Kerry was an amazing host. Before we even arrived, he kept us updated about the weather, the flooding, and what to expect. We got there really late because of the storms, and he was so gracious that he gave us a free night because of the rain and our late arrival. That was completely unexpected and so appreciated.
He also took the time to give us a tour of the property and showed us the different spaces he’s working on. It was exciting hearing his vision for Happy Hollow. You can tell he’s putting his heart into making it something special.
Honestly, I knew it was going to rain before we came, so the weather wasn’t anyone’s fault. Sometimes you just have to embrace what Mother Nature gives you. For me, the experience was still 100% worth it.
I’m so glad I found the Hipcamp app because I probably never would have discovered this little hidden gem otherwise. We’ll definitely be back,

This was a great place for a last second weekend getaway! The whole property is nice and private. We stayed in the camping cabin, which was ideal for a rainy couple of days. There’s plenty of hiking close by and a few caves to tour also. We’ll definitely be back when the weather is better to tent camp!

This was such a cute, unique site! Each camp felt far enough away from all others and is really cozy nestled in the woods. Because of this however there were bugs in the A frame, but that’s unavoidable and the host was very responsive and helpful. The bed was comfy, and overall a great experience!

This was a great spot to spend the night! Beautiful views, comfy cabin, spotless outhouse. I didn't try the showers, but it was great they provide them. I'd stay again if I were in the area. The cabins are separate from one another and very private, so you have your own secluded hangout.

We had a great time at Kerry’s!! He was a very welcoming host. His land is beautiful and well taken care of. Our kids loved playing on the tire swing, hanging out with the dogs, climbing in the tree web, and exploring. It was great to have the little cozy cabin with a comfy mattress and shelter for when it rained. We slept great in there!
