We recently moved from the next county over and are enjoying making this place ours and improvements for guests. Property is 15 minutes south of Cincinnati, close to the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG), close to restaurants and attractions such as Kings Island (approximately 1 hour), Creation Museum (approximately 25 minutes) and The Ark (approximately 25 minutes). Also nearby are several state parks and local favorites such as Big Bone State park, Rabbit Hash,and Riverbend.
We have 2 dogs who walk with us on leash and recently added chickens and goats! Elmer and Clyde do like to wander and explore. They are very friendly.

Gravel driveway leads up to both spots. We do try to keep it maintained, but frequently rain causes ruts faster than we can fill. It should not impede drivability, but use caution and feel free to ask if you have any concerns. #1 improvement planned is paving driveway. You may also experience some vehicle noise from roadway. Typically, as we are on a back road, it is fairly quiet but some drivers may be louder than others and some evenings see more traffic.
Level gravel area for RV parking, second plateau available for multiple tent sites. Campfires in designated area.
Deer, wild turkeys, opossums and raccoons are plentiful and often wander through. Less common are foxes and bald eagles that make their home at Doe Run Lake nearby.

Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.

Make a stop back in time to our quiet woodland retreat with an updated 1800’s log cabin nestled on the property. At Cabin and Company, you will be parked beside this beautiful cabin and will be allowed access at your leisure for a place to sit and relax. (No overnight sleeping allowed inside) Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea (provided) while watching tv or on our covered porch outside. You may also select a movie or two from our large selection of DVDs or find a book to read among our stash of books. Play cards, engage in one of the other games provided, or just sit in the quiet of it all and rest your mind. There is a golf chipping area as well as basketball. We have WIFI at our residence on the adjacent property and some areas of the camp will pick it up better than others. There is a fire ring on site with an adjustable grate for cooking and plenty of seasoned firewood available.. We will have a few items available for purchase inside the cabin including local honey (when available) apple butter, coffee, hand crafted walking sticks and you won’t want to leave without some of these goodies. This semi secluded property is a gem and we hope you will enjoy this piece of history as much as we do. You may see wildlife such as whitetail deer and of course, there are plenty of birds and squirrels around. The RV sleeps 4 adults and 4 children and is parked in a private, shaded area beneath the trees. In season, you’ll find vibrant flower gardens filled with butterflies, and you’re welcome to pick your own bouquet. Secluded yet close to everything!
Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash to prevent chasing wildlife. A 2-night minimum stay is required.
We also offer overnight parking for motorhomes or RVs for just $20 per night — perfect for travelers passing through. Please note that a generator is necessary for overnight stays.

Super easy for a late night check in and early morning check out! Stopped through on my drive to Michigan and had a great, short stay. Bathrooms, parking and office were a short walk from Paige’s cabin which I was thankful for in the dark. Overall felt safe and quiet! Cabin also had AC which was a bonus!

I loved camping at the cabin. It had a nice theme and the beds were comfortable. The trails around are pretty nice too and it's located near the Creation Museum. I would probably put the A/C unit at the top of the ladder since it was too hot to sleep up there at night.

If you’re looking for a relaxing and unique Hipcamp experience this is the place. The cabin is so cozy. The front porch is a perfect location to relax and read a book. They offer 30 and 50 amp hookups. The grounds were meticulously maintained. I will most certainly book again!

I loved the whole cabin set-up. The farm is easy to find which is great. The land is gorgeous beyond reason. The cabin itself was well situated on beautiful land with tons to do with outdoor activities. The beds are comfy and the whole cabin shows the love the Handys have had for their property. Our host, Josh Handy, was terrific. The location is a renovated pop up camper which he fashioned with wood from his grandfather’s 200 year old barn when it was torn down. It has an open barn about 30 yards away with very nice restroom facilities, H/C shower and an outdoor kitchen. The land itself comprises part of a farm with both open meadow and wooded trails. Perfect for travelers and dogs. Highly recommended!

Weekend Trip to Three Springs Campground RV Park
We needed a place to stay last minute while attending a music festival in Lexington, but with no hotels available, we decided to camp instead. Stumbling upon Three Springs Campground in Sadieville (which happens to be my daughter's name-it was fate, we had to stay!) It turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our trip.
The campground offers primitive tent camping for $50 a night, but for just $10 more, they have rustic cabins that were the perfect blend of comfort and simplicity. The cabin had heat, air conditioning, electricity, a microwave, a Keurig coffee maker, and plates, making it incredibly convenient. There was outside seating and a fire pit. While there was no bathroom inside the cabin, the bathhouse was just 75-100 feet away, and there was Wi-Fi and no TV.
After the festival, we built a fire and spent most of the night simply enjoying each other’s company—me, my husband, and our daughter, Sadie. It was the perfect way to wind down, surrounded by nature and the peaceful atmosphere of the campground.
Whether you’re looking for secluded, rustic tent camping or a budget-friendly cabin stay, Three Springs Campground is a great option near Lexington. Highly recommend for anyone attending an event nearby or just wanting a tranquil getaway!

A cute, super clean campground. And we loved the shower heads!! Every corner of the cabin, bathrooms and showers were clean of cobwebs! I am glad to see they are investing in fixing some of the campsites. It was very easy to find, just off the highway but far enough back to be super quiet. We will stop again when visiting family in Lexington.

This is our third time staying at Jim and Sharon's place, and it won't be our last. There are so many quaint Ohio towns to check out within 15 to 30 minutes of the campsite.
