Close to Garden of the Gods (10 min), Rimrock, Pounds Hollow, Belle Smith Springs, Lusk Creek and other trails. We are in the middle of the Shawnee surrounded by trees, our own lake, you can hike around and walk the land in solitude, yet we are only 25 minutes to Harrisburg. Sonny hills was a great place to stay! Jennifer and her husband were fantastic hosts, very friendly and accommodating. We chose a very hot couple days to stay and the pond was great to cool off in. What we saw of the cabin it looked very nice as well and their non-electric sites were all in shade with close access to the toilet and pond. Their dogs were great to meet and well behaved. definitely not all in your business but would come to visit every now and then. We would love to go back and enjoy their property again in the future!

For our very short stay (few hours) this spot was everything we needed. It was close to town and not too far from the interstate. The only problem I had with the location is the bar next door. We had a light sleeper with us on the trip who was unable to sleep because of the loud music. Any other day this probably wouldn’t have bothered me but we were on a long trip and everyone needed sleep as we were all taking turns driving.

Jennifer and John have a beautiful and tranquil private property. It was so peaceful, I wish I could stay forever! They are the best hosts, checking to make sure we had everything we needed, providing us with a fire pit, fire wood, and delicious veggies from their garden. They offered us use of their kayak to use in their lake but we ran out of time. We will definitely be back when we pass through the area again. I highly recommend you choose this location if you are planning a trip to Garden of the Gods, it’s better than any campground I’ve ever been to and it’s only a 10 minute drive.

We had a great time tent camping at Sonny Hills! The property was very beautiful and we made sure to take a dip in their peaceful lake. The location was easy to find and close to all the great hiking trails in the area.
