Minidoka County Fairgrounds: The fairgrounds are located East of Rupert encompassing an area of approximately sixty-five acres. The grounds includes a rodeo arena, display buildings (antique building, a commercial building, 4-H building), and open air pavilion for livestock shows, family reunions, and other community events. Hidden behind the main grounds is our small and quaint campground in a groomed grassy field. with a spectacular view of Mount Harrison.
The Minidoka County Fair held the first week in August and includes a full week of events including entertainment, open class exhibits, food, rodeo, 4-H and FFA livestock shows. Numerous events are held at the fairgrounds throughout the year including Moto-X races, rodeos, auctions, 4-H events. weddings, horseshows, family reunions, and more. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

You won’t be let down by the fortitude of history and scenery at this former home to Shoshone and Bannock Indian tribes. Formerly a ranching town laid to waste by the Dust Bowl, this space was created to sustain wildlife and fish, as well as water and recreation resources in the county.
Even if you can’t stay the night, there are plenty of scenic drives to take through the park, and panoramic views to capture on your camera. Sagebrush open desert provides little shade, but the Stone Reservoir has some cool-off opportunities in the form of boating, swimming, and fishing. You can also catch a chill in the year-round 40 degree Minnetonka Caves nearby, or warm up during a winter visit at the Downata Hot Springs in Malad.

I love love love this spot. I decided to do a road trip instead of fly to my destination just so I could stop here and stay overnight. The site at the top where they are building a glamping type dome is just gorgeous. 360 views. Last fall I stayed here with my dog, and I have since lost him to cancer so this trip was a bit of a memorial. I remember him joyfully running around and exploring as the sun set on the mountains. Definitely recommend if your goal is privacy, beauty, and plenty of space.

We loved Adam's multiple camp spots he has made for RV/tent camping. The views were beautiful and being so close to the city. We enjoyed that our dogs did not have to be leashed and got to be themselves. He was very accommodating in every aspect. Will be back again.

The Crazy Cow Farm Adventures is an amazing place to stay, one of the few RV camps that is an attraction of its own. For people (like me) coming from an urban environment, the place feels like it comes from a movie. Here, kids can admire (and even pet) dozens of types of animals, ranging from pigs to goats (there was even a baby buffalo)! At 20.30 daily, the animal feeding show starts, and the host, Shayna, will introduce the participants through each of the animals, explaining their name, their story and what they eat. Then participants can offer to feed each animal and pet them. Since the animals have been raised since they were young with a lot of human interaction, they are absolutely docile, and we always felt safe.
Finally, the host, Shayna, is extremely welcoming and caring. So it is guaranteed you'll have a great time!
Finally, for shopping for fresh fruits, I recommend the nearby Edith's Collective Florist. Very tasty stuff for reasonable prices.
