Nestled high in the Rocky Mountains of southeast Idaho at an elevation of 6500 ft, our yurt has magnificent views of Mt. Bonneville and the surrounding Pebble Creek Basin. Along with a handful of neighbors, within a private property recreational area, we are surrounded by the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, with vehicle access from mid-May through mid-November each year. Pebble Yurt has a 30 ft diameter with a partial loft for a total of 900 ft2 of indoor living space. You will be completely off grid, but with running hot and cold water, solar electricity, and heating and cooling features. We also feature an indoor shower, sink, and composting toilet. Bring your ATV's, mountain bikes, or hiking boots to explore the Pebble Basin. Or take a short drive to Lava Hot Springs for world-class hot pools, water slides, or white water rafting. Fishing in the Portneuf River or Chesterfield Reservoir, exploring the Chesterfield historic town site, or trying out a zipline or go-cart are other local activities. Pebble Yurt was built circa 2010 by a retiring forest service employee to the highest standards. It is a working farm, and so you will see us feeding the baby calves, and lambs, irrigating the fields, harvesting and hauling hay as we go about our day. We work hard on the farm but we also know how to play hard. Crazy Cow Farm Adventures has a fun hay chopper wagon ball game, peddle cart track (lots of fun for all ages), and farmyard laser tag. The River Lodge Resort property is just under 4 acres on the river with 200 feet of river frontage. There is a dock for guest use and a shallow area with stairs to it for wading and kayak/Paddleboard launch. There are lifejackets, towels, chairs and tables in the small barn by the river for guest use. Lots of pine trees for tent camping and plenty of gravel area for RV parking. There are two private homes on the property as well (owners and guest house). Learn more about this land: Riverside camping has 200 feet of river frontage. You can camp away from the river’s edge & enjoy playing in river some terrain is sloped. Loose gravel RV parking also available. There is one outdoor, half bathroom (no shower). We have a dock available for guest use. We have three kayaks and two paddle boards available for guest use as well as lifejackets. No lifeguard on duty! There is a designated fire pit by the river. Sunsets are beautiful and mornings are peaceful, afternoons sound like a little bit of a party with all the boats on the water. You definitely get the feeling you’re on vacation here. Close to City of Rocks, mountainous bike trails, side-by-side riding, hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, golf course just across the river and plenty of water sports. No boat launch on property.

The smaller of the two parks in Caribou-Targhee National Forests, Caribou is a welterweight not to be underestimated. Just south of its older brother, this land spans Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, and is a crucial spot for supporting caribou populations. None of the animals here are bashful: bison, moose, deer, mountain lions, falcons, elk, and even black bears abound! Beautiful to snap shot from a distance. Just south of the forest, Bear Lake is a fun spot to take a dip after you hike one of Caribou’s dozens of peaks (Mead Peak and Hawks Peak have gorgeous views, as does Big Elk Mountain at the northern tip of the park). At the south end, you’ll find campgrounds, fast flowing creeks, and the Minnetonka Cave at St. Charles Canyon. This is a site to see, but it stays 40 degrees down there all year so be sure to pack a coat, even if you’re sweating above ground. When you’re done, stop in the charming small town of Montpelier, surrounded by rolling hills and full of retro grocers and kitschy eateries. Yum!

Minidoka County Fairgrounds: The fairgrounds are located East of Rupert encompassing an area of approximately sixty-five acres. The grounds includes a rodeo arena, display buildings (antique building, a commercial building, 4-H building), and open air pavilion for livestock shows, family reunions, and other community events. Hidden behind the main grounds is our small and quaint campground in a groomed grassy field. with a spectacular view of Mount Harrison. 2 nights at Crazy Cow Farm Adventures

The campers are adorable! Shayna has a knack for decorating and for making you feel welcome and "at home". The fridge was equipped with bottled water, oatmeal for breakfast, and the makings for s'mores over the fire. We had a blast riding the pedal cars to the "Blue Goose" penny-candy store. We stayed for 2 nights on our way from Salt Lake City to see Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, and visit natural hot springs throughout Idaho. At the end of our trip, we needed to rest and pack up the camping gear for the flight home. On short notice, Shayna welcomed us, again, for 2 more nights. We were so happy to be there. When we drove in late at night we both exclaimed "we're home"! Everything was clean and cozy. The shower and toilets are a short distance from the campers. It was quiet, even when the goats got out, and so beautiful. We want our family and friends to experience Crazy Cow, and we would love to go back and spend a week to just rest and enjoy the scenery.

My son and I have camped in many places but this is now his favorite! Our hosts were exceptional, so kind and fun to talk to. I just adored Shayna’s camp and the love and effort she has put into it is so apparent. Best campsite for kids AND adults! There is so much to do. I fell in love with the animals and miss them already! We will definitely return. Already telling friends and family about this gem of a place! If you want animal fun, beautiful sunsets, stargazing, pedal carting, giant sandbox play, games, comfy campers with a/c or heating, and fascinating history all from the best hosts, this is your spot!

WOW!! What a phenomenal stay my boys and I had! Shayna reached out to me before our trip to ensure we had the most comfortable trailer for our needs. She personally welcomed us to her charming farm. The place was beyond adorable, with an atmosphere filled with peace and tranquility. We got to interact with so many animals, including chickens, sheep, horses, calves, buffalo, and pigs. The sheep were sheared to perfection and looked like show sheep! Her friendly dogs visited us often, which we loved. And the puppies!!!! My boys were in heaven. Shayna had so many personal touches to her farm, making it fun and inviting for everyone who stays there. We rented her specialty bikes and had a blast riding around the property. I truly felt like Shayna gave us a gift by opening her world to us. We all need a slice of Shayna's life every now and then, just to slow down and enjoy nature. Everything about the place was perfect and serene. Thank you, Shayna, for creating such a beautiful space for others to enjoy!

We stayed at Jennifer’s yurt for three nights over the Fourth of July with my husband and kids, and it was such a peaceful and memorable experience. The yurt was cozy, clean, spacious, and thoughtfully decorated — with so many little touches that made our stay extra comfortable. It was also very well-equipped with everything we needed, from a full kitchen and bathroom to extra bedding and three full-size, comfortable beds. The location felt private and peaceful, with beautiful views all around. It was about 30 minutes from Lava Hot Springs, but the scenic drive made it feel much shorter — we actually enjoyed the drive every time. The outdoor area was perfect for spending time together, with a fire pit and a great spot for barbecuing. Jennifer was an excellent host — very responsive and helpful when I had a concern. I really appreciated how much care was put into making guests feel welcome. I’d absolutely recommend this stay to others. Just a heads-up: it gets chilly in the mornings and warm in the afternoons, so bring layers. We’d love to come back!

This campsite was the highlight of our trip! We went swimming and kayaking in the river, and the backyard is so lush and green. The bathroom was also super clean. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to visit Shoshone Falls, it’s only about 40 mins away. We also loved that Eric and Andi provided firewood for us to use in their huge and beautiful fire pit!

My son was excited to complete the star farmer program and get his badge and sticker. The playground and swings were also a hit. Awesome spot! Quiet and safe. When you pull up look for Hipcamp parking signs to the right. Will definitely stay again!
