Park your RV, overland rig, pitch a tent, or sleep under the stars next to the Coeur D’ Alene River. Be advised this is directly next to State Highway 3. If you are a light sleeper, or road noise bothers you, this is not the campsite for you. At the camp, you can launch your kayaks at the river to go for an adventure down through the Chain Lakes, all eight are accessible by the river adjacent to where you will sleep. The bird and wildlife watching in this area is world class. Ospreys, hawks, turkeys and other animals commonly hang out in these parts. You can go for a swim at one of the sandbars, take your dirt bikes or side by sides down Killarney Lake Road to access an extensive network of trails and dirt roads into remote wilderness. There is no cell service, no water or electrical hookups, or toilet. As beautiful as it is, your experience will not be “glamping” unless you come with all the comforts you personally desire. You can hunt on the forest service land by 4th of July Pass, fish on the river, or on the Chain Lakes (with the proper permits, of course). There is a access into the water from camp but it is quite steep. For easy access to the water, use the docks or boat launch at Killarney Lake or Bull Run. Pets and kids are allowed at your own risk. Dreamy place. Smells like pine trees all day. Beautiful views of the Palouse. Its very well set up. Hot water in the faucet and bathoom. The outside sink was a plus. The table is very big, lots of dry firewood, spacious area, lots of parking, sting lights, the owners were very accomodating, flexible and very welcoming. The kids were very loud and they didn't once come over or say anything.

Weekend Trip to Convenient Palouse Paradise

We had a great trip. Only minutes from the University of Idaho, the space was level and roomy and the hosts were friendly and helpful. We already have our next reservation locked in for October.

The hosts greeted us upon arriving and were super friendly. The spot is at their personal residence, and they let us know to ask if we needed anything. The location was super easy to get to and accessible from two directions, so it was easy to get the trailer in and out of. It was also right along the road, which also made it easy to maneuver in and out of. The full hook-ups were really nice to have and we appreciated that we were able to rent it for an odd amount of days. A lot of places want you there for only a couple days or a whole month, and this was rented for someone who is traveling for work, so the length of the stay was kind of up in the air. Over all a good experience.

This was a beautiful campsite. It had great views and was very neat and well appointed. The highway was right next to the site but didn’t really bother us. Travis was very helpful and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Trip to Crooks Lookout

I hate to leave a good review because I want this place just for myself!!! This Hip Camp is absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beautiful views. On top of the scenery, the amenities were fantastic. The grounds were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. The bathroom and shower were spotless, the site was spacious, and it was clear the host really cares about keeping everything in top condition. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. Their warmth and attention to detail made the experience even more special. It’s rare to find a place that combines natural beauty with such comfort and convenience, but this spot has it all. We left feeling refreshed and can’t wait to come back — highly recommend to anyone looking for a camping experience that’s both stunning and stress-free!
