1 night at B-T-B Horse Boarding & Hotel

I can highly recommend this beautiful place. From the moment we arrived we felt at home and welcome. The animals are so well looked after. The hosts were welcoming and friendly and I would highly recommend this as a stop. Thank you!

Easy to check in, came late and Mike helped provide me some light so I could set up my tent. He was very friendly and helpful. Everything was pretty much as advertised. It was a bit for me to sleep because dogs were be barking at random times thru the night. If you’re a heavy sleeper it shouldn’t be a problem.

Such a beautiful location! We stayed here for family weekend for WSU and it was perfect. The hosts were great with communication and we had everything we needed. Maps gave us different ways to travel from WSU to the location and we found the one we liked best was going through Moscow, it was the least time on gravel roads, although the gravel road drives were beautiful too.

Easy to find and was pleasantly surprised on how nice and clean our site was, the bathroom and shower were a definite bonus. We really liked the spot but you are a stone’s throw from U.S. 95 and south bound traffic are going uphill so some rigs can be loud going by. Travis’s dog is perfect at making you feel welcome and greeted us with a wiggling butt.

I love camping on Matt’s land!! Nice and quiet. They leave the light on for you 😂 I’m scared of the dark so glad they leave the light on for me. The best part is the kittens!!!!! I love them! I recommend Matt’s place if your ever in the area and want the farm life with the quietness. Love how the cows moo when I get home from work. I moo back 😂

2 nights at Crooks Lookout

We were here on business so were gone during the days but we enjoyed staying here and consider it a real find. we loved the privacy, fire pit, lighting, full hookups and view. It has a full bath that we did not use. Some have mentioned road noise but honestly you only hear it during the day as traffic is low at night. We slept well. Travis was fast to respond to our last minute booking. Would definitely stay here again.

Accommodating hosts last minute and a beautiful spot, private with no light pollution and a beautiful vista. recommend, as others have said and the hosts too will admit probably, for experienced haulers because you will be backing up a hill. But, the host will be there to assist you. Conveniently located and low road noise. Having a gray water dump was helpful too.

Yonder Hills Disc Golf and Camping

The property, aptly named the Oasis years ago, is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees, ponds, and natural landscaping over 50 years in the making. The landscaping was started by Tom who still lives in the farmhouse. The Schierman family has owned this property for four generations. The Oasis is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington State. The newly created Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a private 18 and 9-basket course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes. Day, overnight or weekly reservations must be made to enjoy this private course. The disc golf course is under construction with some layout changes on the last three baskets. It's playable but it isn't perfect yet. We had to shift focus to the barn restoration grant to meet the June 2025 deadline. This is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind or be creative. Read in the lawn. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Disc golf anytime. Guests may bring their own private fire pits. Firewood is provided for the community fire pit. Yonder Hills can be reserved for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for several vehicles and tailgate camping. Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert. There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Electrical outlets in the gravel parking area can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, look forward to better amenities as we grow. St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Come for the abundant stars, the fall colors and brisk air, to socialize with other travelers, or to find the peace of the Palouse country.

Wifi is provided as well. The space is most perfect for “van life” folks, designed by a host with her own glamping van that she keeps on the property. Having your own self-contained bathroom on board is preferred, but you are welcome to use our outhouse with a compost toilet and camping sink/water that will be shared with guests at the one glamping tent across the walking path. You’re welcome to pitch a tent or use the hammocks under the trees. There is a walking path through the woods, an outdoor clawfoot bathtub for cold plunges, and a trampoline. We’ll provide a couple of lounge chairs and a side table as well. On the homestead we grow a large selection of vegetables, fruit and flowers. We also have a rooster and chickens that provide fresh eggs, and 2 VERY adorable tabby kitties that you’ll see roam the premises. Please do not enter the chicken coop, collect any firewood or pick from the garden as I am growing produce for the local farmers market. You are welcome to visit the garden, but please keep the gates shut for deer protection. Homemade breakfast can be available upon request (coffee/tea, homemade German style bread or pretzels, jam, farm fresh eggs, freshly squeezed juices). We are on 20 acres and have developed ¾ acre for camping. Badger drive is just off a well-maintained gravel county road. We are less than 15 minutes from St Maries, where you will find dump sites and water refill station at the fairgrounds or at Ed’s R & R. There are 2 grocery stores, gas stations and a UTV rental place called Northwest Outdoor Rental Co. There is also Hidden Gem Resort and arcade where you can rent kayaks. In St Maries you can find easy access to the St Joe and St Maries rivers. 9 miles west of St Maries is Heyburn Park where you will find multiple hiking trails, access to Chatcolet Lake (which is at the south end of the Coeur ‘d Alene Lake system). Outdoor recreation options are limitless in this area. Coeur ‘d Alene is an hour and a half north from our property and Moscow is and hour and a half SW of our property. We are 2 miles from State land and a 25-minute ride on an ATV to the St Maries River. The area is abundant in wildlife: elk, deer, coyotes, cougars, moose, rabbits, grouse, badgers and more. There are 3 RV sites tucked into the trees, a large open tent site and a second tent site that is in the trees. There is a pull around drive to access the sites with a large, shared grass area in the center. Things are still in development so currently it is dry camping only. There are water spigots at each site but only for fire suppression if needed as water is not potable. RV sites are graveled with plenty of room to park your truck. Our home is approximately 300 yards up from the camping area and we have neighbors nearby with farm animals. So you can expect to hear roosters crowing and goats calling for more grain. We do have dogs. One of them stays penned up but the other is a guardian dog. She is friendly but keeps the other animals safe from predators such as coyotes and cougars. We allow animals but only if they are kept on a leash or in your RV.

SON MOUNTAIN RANCH is located in beautiful North Idaho, surrounded by alpine vistas, beautiful mountains and clear glacial lakes. We are approximately 3 minutes from Silverwood theme park and have several specialty farms located near us. With 3 nice campsites on the front part of our property, we welcome campers coming to visit the area. Son Mountain Ranch specializes in growing many of the herbs used in our Herbal Wisdom tea and herb blends. Also grown on the ranch are veggies and several varieties of fruit and berries. Son Mountain Ranch is known for raising Katahdin Sheep for both meat and starter flocks, chickens for eggs, as well as our delicious North Idaho Raw Honey.
