We live on 48 acres out in the country, but we are only 12–15 minutes from the town of Orofino. We have five beautiful sleeper cabins (with TVs and mini splits), and a bathroom/shower house located 10–20 feet from the cabins. There is also a game area with horseshoes and an archery lane, as well as a timber-framed gazebo for gathering and relaxing. These 5 cabins fit 10 ppl. If more people are in your group, we have a few other options to add more accommodations if we have enough time to prepare; ask for details! The cabins sit on approximately 4–5 acres of the property. We use these cabins for about nine months out of the year, so they are only available during the summer months of June, July, and August. So welcome to your stay—we’re glad you’re here. Each cabin offers a comfortable space to rest, while the shared outdoor areas give you room to gather, relax, and enjoy the surroundings. This is a place where the sunrises and sunsets are incredible, the air feels different, and the pace naturally slows down. It’s common to see wildlife throughout the property—deer, elk, and wild turkeys often pass through, especially in the early morning and evening. Keep an eye out and take it all in—it’s part of what makes this place special. Whether you’re here to explore, fish, unwind, or spend time with your group, we hope you enjoy the space, the land, and the experience. Camp Last Light is a private, primitive campsite perched high above the Joseph Plains, offering breathtaking views of some of Idaho County’s most rugged and beautiful landscapes. This is a true dry campsite—there is no running water, electricity, restroom, or developed facilities, so guests should arrive prepared for a primitive camping experience. However, firewood is provided, and while there is no water available directly at the campsite, the camp host lives year-round just three minutes away and can provide a reasonable amount of water upon request. What Camp Last Light lacks in traditional campground amenities, it makes up for with unmatched views, privacy, convenience, and location. For those familiar with dispersed camping in the Joseph Plains, this campsite offers an elevated experience: the simplicity and solitude of backcountry camping combined with a private designated site, provided firewood, a nearby host, and an ideal basecamp for hunting and exploring the surrounding wilderness. For hunters, the location is especially unique. Camp Last Light offers some of the best glassing opportunities in the entire Joseph Plains area, with sweeping views across miles of surrounding terrain. Guests can glass directly from camp, watching distant ridges, draws, and timber without ever leaving their chair. The campsite sits on 25.85 acres of private, forested land directly adjacent to approximately 2,308 acres of public land, greatly expanding the hunting and recreational opportunities available right from camp. Instead of spending each morning breaking down camp or driving long distances, hunters can use Camp Last Light as a comfortable basecamp and head directly into a large area of public ground. Camping does not include hunting privileges on the private 25.85 acres where the campground is located. However, registered guests may add private-land hunting access for an additional $50 per day. This provides the opportunity to hunt the property itself, subject to all applicable Idaho hunting seasons, licenses, tags, and regulations. Camp Last Light may not be the cheapest place to pitch a tent in the Joseph Plains—and that is intentional. What you are paying for is a rare location that offers what typical dispersed campsites cannot: incredible views, exceptional glassing, direct access to thousands of acres of hunting country, optional private-land hunting access, and true peace and solitude. Her land was indeed like a mini private park/ranch... an open field to set up with a beautiful garden, goats, horses and chickens. We absolutely loved camping at Renee's. She is a generous, kind soul. Our van pulled into large clean green grass field, with an equally clean outhouse. It was fenced between her beautiful garden and a sweet horse. Renee is a clear communicator, lives on site and provided a safe place for the night. I had the camp area to myself, and the Porta potty was the cleanest smelling, and cleanest overall, I ever experienced. It was very quiet albeit started out warm for my one night stay. A beautiful property...it was the perfect location for us to try our first 'boondocking' weekend. Very quiet and serene, completely off-grid. Corlene and her husband were gracious hosts. The only thing I would say is, ask Corlene or her husband where the best place is to pull in...suggested areas weren't marked and we were worried about swampy areas. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area.

Very beautiful property, the hosts we amazing and accommodating our schedules. We adding another 2 people and vehicle to our spot and they had no problems with them coming in later. Renee was very responsive and kind. She even offered us farm fresh eggs, and that in my book is huge. Even though we only stayed a short few hours, we felt at home. We definitely will be back to stay again. 10 out of 10 recommend staying here!
