This private yurt offers a true off grid mountain experience with electricity, Starlink internet, heat, AC, propane cooking and a wood stove for cozy nights. This is not a neighborhood or resort setting. This is real mountain wilderness. If you are looking for a Terrace Lakes style community experience, this is not it. If you are looking for quiet, privacy, stars, wildlife and adventure, you’re in the right place. Sleeping arrangements comfortably accommodate up to five guests with one bunk bed and a futon. Bring your own bedding and pillows based on the season. We recommend zero degree sleeping bags in winter and lightweight bedding in summer. Towels are not provided. There is no running water and no shower. We provide fresh five gallon drinking water jugs and a clean private porta potty. There is a sink inside for washing dishes. The yurt is heated and cooled with a mini split system. We do not provide firewood for the wood stove or firepit. Firewood can be purchased locally in Crouch or Garden Valley. There is interior lighting but no exterior lighting, so bring headlamps or flashlights for nighttime use. Cooking amenities include a two burner propane stove with cast iron griddle, a private deck with propane grill, and a fully stocked cooking setup including dishes, utensils, spices and olive oil. The yurt is accessed by a short walk from the parking area and terrain may be uneven, muddy, snowy or icy depending on weather. In winter, AWD or 4WD with winter tires or chains is required. We live on the property but respect your privacy completely. You will not see us unless you request assistance. Description (site overview) Our property is nestled bellow the mountains in the upper country of Idaho close to the small quaint farm towns of Midvale and Cambridge where the nearest stoplight is 30 miles away. Whether you are looking to escape hussell and bussell or have a base camp for your next adventure, you've come to the right place! The campsite is perched up near the large pond about 1000 feet off the main road (which you may see 5 cars a day on or the occasional horseback rider). And not to worry, there is a decent driveway that will bring you within 100 feet of the campsite, a pickup or 4 wheel drive is not required. ! The pond is an oasis for passing ducks and geese and other wildlife. Once you've established yourself enjoy a nice walk around the pond, cast a line off the pedal boat (catch and release), or enjoy a picnic on the island with the ducks and geese. Peace and quiet is all to be had here (other than the occasional bull frog croaking.) But if adventure is what you seek, adventure you will have! Known as the gateway to Hells Canyon, there are many things to do within 5 minutes to 1 hours drive. Drop into Midvale to hit the Weiser River Trail via hiking, horseback, or mountain bike (electric bikes too). Embark on an off road adventure with your UTV/ATV, or motorcycle up the nearby mountains to Sturgill Peak Lookout where you can see 100 miles in every direction. Schedule and excursion in Hells Canyon (deeper than the grand canyon) or take a dip at the local Mundo hot spring. Fishing and floating can be had at the near by Weiser river or boating at Crane Creek Reservoir. Or maybe you're looking for a base camp for hunting season. Again, the recreational possibilities are endless! Bring your supplies and stay at camp or take a short bike ride/drive into town for some food at the Coffee Cabin or a drink at the local tavern. Maybe you forgot something? the Midvale Market has you covered, and they have adult beverages too, open 7 days a week. Midvale also has a nice little park and a local swimming pool. Site guidelines Respect the locals and they will return the favor. We have a great small town community that looks out for one another. You can ride recreational vehicles on most of the local roads if you choose to bring them, just be respectful of the local laws and courteous to the neighbors who live on dirt roads by keeping the dust down when you pass by. No riding off trails/roads, especially on our property! Please bring life jackets or appropriate floatation devices for children who plan to play or swim in the pond. Explore the property and feel free to pick up wood and branches from the ground for the fire pit, but please do not remove or cut down any trees, and keep fires contained in the fire pit and do not burn when it's windy. Bedding is NOT provided at this time. There is a sheet Please bring sleeping bags or desired bedding for the covered queen bed. We also just built a brand new outhouse! We are slowly adding more amenities and plan to build an outdoor shower next. Enjoy camping and recreational activities at this beautiful property located right on the Weiser River — with dry camping only (for now)! There are two private roadside spots available that can accommodate tent camping and/or trailers. Spot A is slightly larger, while spot B is a bit smaller — but I’ve parked my 35-foot bumper-pull toy hauler trailer on it before, with the toy door open and plenty of room behind it, no issues at all. Campfires are allowed on both sites; however, you must observe and comply with any fire ban periods. Legal hunting and fishing are welcome on the surrounding BLM land! Please follow all hunting and fishing laws and carry the proper licenses and tags with you at all times while participating. 🚫 Firearms: For the safety of all guests, no discharging of firearms is allowed on the property. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Capacity: Parties of up to 10 people per spot are permitted. I think we came a little late in the season for the pond, as it was quite low, but my son still had a bit of fun on the paddle boat. We did head down to Mann Reservoir (15min away), so we could bust out our paddle boards for a bit.

The place has so many little extras like the solar lights for paths at night that make it even more special. I came to try to learn some night sky photography and it didn’t diss along with stars! Chris has created a peaceful space. We had to cut our trip short, but will definitely be back to enjoy the quiet, peaceful, wildlife filled oasis that Chris has created. You have the basic amenities you would need or want for a comfortable stay, plus some extras that Chris has so thoughtfully provided, should you need them. We really liked the fact that the closest neighbor is far enough away that we didn’t have to worry about our pup being off leash. Due to us having to cut our trip short, Chris was more than willing to work with us for a future stay, which was not expected in anyway, but GREATLY appreciated. If you are looking for a small town, quiet, peaceful oasis, this is THE spot.

This is a nice spot! We were able to fit two big tents and a table as well. The outhouse is better than most. The best thing about this spot is the beach. It’s a beautiful walk, and short enough that we could carry our 1.5 year old and our 4 year old could walk. Super fun weekend trip, we would do it again!

This is a perfect glamping set-up. Not too fancy, not too primitive. Tent is up-to-date, and everything has been thought of. Well maintained paths and tidy bathroom. Lovely view, fun duck boat! A cozy squeeze with two teens on air mattresses, but we all fit. The surrounding area is the pure Southern Idaho of my childhood. Look closely for the tiny beauty of a wildflower, volcanic rock. We were very happy here.

The site was well-maintained, and the outhouse was built. The amenities were inviting, especially the cozy fire pit area and they had a camp stove, a pop up shade tent and other things for camping under the bed. I loved the fact that the tent had a propane heater which kept us cozy and warm thru the nighr. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected family loss, we had to leave early and couldn’t fully enjoy everything, including the fire pit. Before departing, we made sure to tidy up, picking up some stray foil and trash around the fire pit and cleaning up after our dog, as well as some older waste we noticed. Despite our shortened stay, we were impressed by the serene atmosphere and attention to detail. We hope to return in the future to fully soak in the experience. Thank you for making our brief time there memorable.

The yurt had a beautiful view. My dog loved getting the ball from the pond. Our other dog kept getting cheat grass stuck in her fur. I loved not having to keep my dogs on a leash. At night there was a lighted up walkway from the yurt to the fire pit and to our cars that stayed on throughout the night. That was a bonus. There was a few houses we could see near by but it did not effect our camping experience. I also loved having a paddle boat we could use and it was easy to get in and out of the pond. There was a bit of a wasp problem. We noticed all the wasp sticky catcher thingies around the campsite, and so we used them to protect our food because when we ate was when they came out. It seemed to do the trick. The outhouse was surprisingly clean and did not stink as long as you remembered to put the seat down when you are done. Having a noon checkout was perfect. It is nice not having to be rushed out on your last day.
