This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

All enjoyed in solitude.  The 719 acre farm is operated by elders who revere the out-of-doors, believing immersion in nature naturally, quietly teaches. It makes for better humans-being. Hipcamp dollars support natural means of improving soil health on the farm. Camper's choice of homemade cinnamon rolls or scones on the first morning, a 16x16' tent platform, Separette toilet, potable water, dock for fishing or foot dangling, warm-weather-(ambient)-heated water for rinse-off (sort-of showering) and a canoe to enjoy. Weekend Trip to Hymas Family Farm Stay

We loved our stay at the farm! The tent was private in the woods and we came up to the farm’s shop for fresh ice cream and fresh eggs and also paid extra to help milk a cow haha our daughter loved the cows! The zipper didn’t work on the tent but otherwise everything was so lovely. We used the cook stove and they had some cook supplies in there too which was super nice. Would definitely recommend , I always wanted to try out glamping and the whole family had a lot of fun with it.

Weekend Trip to Riverfront Solitude

This is our second year at Matt and Susan’s place and we plan to return next year again. We love this spot! My sons and I spent the weekend in solitude enjoying good food, board games, and the river! Susan’s fresh cinnamon rolls are the cherry on top of a wonderful experience. We enjoyed swimming and paddle boarding around from the private dock, playing games by lamplight, and watching the wildlife around us. Highly recommend! We’ll be back!

My spouse and I had an amazing time camping at Susan and Matt's. They are extremely kind hearted hosts and have a breathtakingly beautiful property along the Pend Orielle River they take great stewardship of. The camp site is very spacious, private, and well accommoted with amenities. We camp a fair amount and this is the best we've ever stayed at. Very grateful for their wonderful hospitalty and for making our weekend very special!

5 nights at Riverfront Solitude

This was our second stay with Susan and Matt, and we loved it so much the first time that we booked another trip just a month later. Without question, this is the most special campsite we’ve ever experienced. The location is incredible—right on the river, nestled in a serene grove of cedar and larch. There’s a unique and calming energy in the trees that makes the whole place feel magical. The river was the perfect temperature, and we spent hours swimming, lounging on the dock, watching eagles hunt, and soaking in the breathtaking sunsets. At night, the sky comes alive with stars, completely free from city lights. Susan and Matt are the ideal hosts—respectful of privacy, yet always just a text away if you need anything. Staying here feels like coming home, and we can’t wait to return again.

A quiet getaway for our family. The stars were amazing at night. Our tent was surrounded by nature's beauty with wildflowers and greenery everywhere. A quick trip to Sand Point was easy and convenient for a short exploratory afternoon away. Lori was very friendly and gave a quick tour upon arrival.

Shayne and Ryder were fantastic! They were extremely welcoming and allowed us to go anywhere on the ranch! This meant we spent lots of time with the horses, also known as "Wolverines", and the dozen little goats! We would definitely stay here again on future trips to that area!

4 nights at Riverfront Solitude

This is, without question, our new favorite campsite—we loved it so much we booked our next stay before we even left! Susan and Matt are exceptional hosts. They welcomed us with a tour and let us know we’d have as much privacy as we wanted. They always texted before stopping by, usually to drop off some of Susan’s incredible baked goods. We highly recommend the optional Forest Therapy session with Matt—a guided, meditative walk that invites you to slow down and deeply connect with the land. It was a highlight of our stay. The property, in Matt’s family for over 60 years, is lovingly cared for. The campsite is tucked beside a peaceful river and feels wonderfully secluded. There’s a tent platform with nearby parking, a well-maintained composting toilet with nighttime path lights, and an Aussie-style outdoor shower. Hammocks hang easily in the shaded trees. A short path leads to a picnic table, fire ring, and then down to a dock where a canoe is moored. We swam daily—the river is deep and slow-moving. Wildlife sightings included deer, bald eagles, osprey, and even an otter and beaver! This place is all about peace, nature, and reconnection—not a spot for parties. Between the land, the river, and the warm hospitality (and baked goods!), we can't recommend it enough.

This was our 2rd experience camping at Shayne and Ryders property this summer. There are lots of trails choose from to match riding skills of you and the ability of the your horse. We went on several 14 mile rides. The views were totally awesome. Shayne and Ryder are exceptional host and way beyond the call of duty to make you and the horses welcome and comfortable. We are looking forward to next stay and trails riding experience.

The camp set up is perfect very private with river access a composing potty. camp shower a fire pit picnic area and a great tent platform. Me and my best friend arrived at 2:30 and Ben was not available when we arrived due to an emergency, but immediately picked up the phone to make us feel comfortable and gave us an over the phone tour until he came back home. It’s a huge camping site and they were all very welcoming and kind. We unfortunately were not able to use the zip line but we used the rope swing and paddle boards provided. The trail about 10 minutes away is not marked on any trail apps, but is very beautiful once you’re up there. Ben offered to give us directions if we could not find it, but it was pretty easy to come across! We were offered us some fresh strawberries from the farm which was very gracious!! All in all very sweet people, amazing (mostly private) campsite, would absolutely recommend, and will definitely be coming back.

I can't say enough good things about Susan and Matt's place. They are amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make you experience wonderful. I said in my last review that I couldn't wait to come back, and I meant it! This was my second stay and I'm already planning my third. The only noisy neighbors you'll hear here are the coyotes. Perfect place for a weekend recharge.
