We live on 20 acres on Road to the Sea, which has a remote green sand beach at the end of the road (4 miles down from us). We call our slice of paradise, Honua Laa (a sacred place). Straight down to the coast is a beautiful black and green sand beach and a huge tide pool. Rent a four-wheel-drive to get there. You don’t need a 4WD to get to our place, but you will need a SUV or truck. Go slow the road is bumpy and rough in places. We are 1.2 miles from the highway. Off the grid. Rustic, but fun. If you are a Eco tourist or seeking adventure, you will love our spot! The silence is golden and the stars are amazing. Don't expect a hotel...this is upcountry glamorous camping. Shared bathroom (see photos) about a 100 feet away. Hipcamp kitchenette includes a propane single burner, ice chest, No fridge. No oven. We have an outdoor fire pit, if you like campfires! It's one-of-a-kind! Most of the parcels are 20 acre parcels around… But a few smaller parcels across the road. We have nice neighbors who keep an eye on things. The nearest grocery store is about 3 miles away. The Hele-On Bus is just 1.2 miles up the road. If you want to drive to the green sand beach at the end of our road, rent a 4 wheel drive. If you are athletic, you can walk, but it is 4 miles down and 4 miles back. I recommend going early in the morning and take water. Hot water shower is propane. Bring ice for your ice chest. Bring drinking water. There is plenty of coffee and tea in the kitchenette. Boil hot water in the kettle, put cone filter with a paper filter and ground coffee inside and on top of thermos. Drip. It's delicious! This is off the grid solar and there can be days without sun, or other glitches. No wifi. I use ATandT and I understand that Verizon and Tmobile work also The panoramic ocean view is spectacular! Very peaceful and relaxing! The back 15 acres is an old Ohia forest with 500 year old trees and lots of birds. You might even see a wild goat or a wild pig. There are small caves and gorgeous rock formations. It backs up to Manuka Forest Reserve. We have beautiful furnished cabins with beds, so you don't have to pitch a tent. Pillows, blankets, fresh towels provided.

UNBELIEVABLE views. Really an escape from it all. 5 min to great restaurant (southernmost US restaurant!) and incredible bakery (Malasadas!) Really comfy bed, clean outhouse, shower and sink. Can’t recommend high enough!

There are covered one rooms with bed and battery pack for low use charging and a light. There is an outdoor shower and portable potty. Brian (local) watches the place and is with intersting stories and island guide if you inquire. Great off the beaten path for travels on the south side with easy close access to 11 and around 30 minutes to south point and slightly further to the Kilauea. Great sunrise and view of volcanos in distance !!

My son and I stayed in the creekside cozy cabin for the weekend and had such a sweet, nourishing stay. It was such a peaceful mini retreat for us to settle in to on really special land. Belinda was wonderful and so very kind. We will definitely be back soon! We loved the special details like the teas and ceramic mugs, the wood stove, and the really wonderful bedding. Soooo nice!

This is review of the eco lodge. We got upgraded by the host as they were doing some prep to summer work on their property. The eco lodge is exceptionally well fitted. The hosts didn’t leave us wanting for anything. The kitchen could not have been any better appointed. We enjoyed morning qigong by the stream, our evening tea by the stream, afternoon nap on the hammock by the stream and sat by the stream in the evening with fire going…. The prayer flags gladdened my soul. The solar light strings made the property feel warm at night. Does it count as foraging if you are picking fir tips on the property?

The pictures really don't do justice to the views you get here. Easily the best views of anywhere I stayed during my trip, unfortunate I was only there for one night. Jasmine came to greet me, showed me around the site and dropped off some bananas from the farm. Cabin is comfortable and very relaxing, and the outdoor shower is both warm and has great water pressure. The stargazing is incredible when the weather cooperates. Excellent food and coffee options just down the hill. Yeah, just an overall excellent location. Highly recommend.

Wow, we feel so lucky we stayed here! The farm has incredible views of the ocean, mountains, even the distant volcano! The cottage was comfy and spacious with a power station to power lights and charge devices. Hot outdoor shower was a plus. The farm tour was fascinating and the fruits were delicious. Jasmine and Justin are amazing hosts. You can tell they’ve put a ton of work and love into the farm. We’ll be back soon!

The cabin was super cute, clean and the covered deck provided a wonderful spot to relax in the rain. The kitchen had everything I could ever need and check in was easy. I hope to return!

Weekend Trip to 🌈 Rainbow’s End Farm & Homestead!

Our stay on Wendy’s land was nothing short of magical—perfect for a weekend escape. This was my third time visiting, and I keep coming back every year when exploring the South Point area. The rustic yet charming cabin is a true gem, with a peaceful deck ideal for watching the sunrise. The fully stocked kitchen made cooking easy, and our group loved gathering in the open-air living room, soaking in the serene surroundings. Wendy is an incredible host—friendly, responsive, and always ensuring we feel at home. This year, we were delighted to find several upgrades, including stylish new living room furniture and a stunning semi-outdoor bathroom addition, a major improvement that made our stay even better. If you’re looking for a unique and immersive nature experience, this property is perfect. It offers a peaceful escape from everyday life while keeping you close to the area’s top spots—we highly recommend hiking to Green Sands! Wendy and her son are truly the best, and we can’t wait to return.

Enjoyed the cabin and really enjoyed the kitchen lounge area, complete with cats. A very nice place to hangout after a day of exploring.
