NOTE: There is a 4 wheel 1/3 mile driveway to the campsite, so a Jeep or other four-wheel-drive vehicle is necessary to drive to the rental. All wheel drive (AWD) isn’t 4 wheel drive and won’t work! If you don’t have a 4x4 vehicle: You can park in our parking lot at the top of the driveway and: (A) we can leave a Nissan Frontier for you to drive to the rental and back to your car if you are comfortable driving a 4 wheel drive road. Or (B) we can happily pick you up at the top and drive you up and down! Your choice! Just let us know when you reserve which you would like to do We have a 24-foot Class C RV, Ohana, surrounded by coconut palms and offering a 180-degree, million-dollar view! Enjoy the peace and quiet along with refreshing ocean breezes. The RV sleeps up to 4 guests, with a queen-size cab-over bed and a full-size bed. It includes a kitchen and a bathroom with a toilet and shower. There’s a large covered lanai for watching the sunsets each evening, as well as a fire pit for campfires. Mountain goats occasionally graze on the property, and during whale season you will not only see whales—you can also hear them! We are located in South Kona, 35 miles south of Kailua-Kona, 56 miles from Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, and 95 miles from Hilo. Captain Cook is 15 miles north and offers groceries, a hardware store, and several places to eat. There are two neighborhood beaches nearby: Pebble Beach is 1½ miles north, and Hōkena Beach is 7 miles north. Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau (City of Refuge) is 8 miles north.NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE TO DRIVE TO THE RENTAL! This place is truly a hidden gem! It has everything you need, an excellent view, and the owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. :) We’ve already come back for the second time because it has become our favorite place to stay ❤️ Highly recommended!

Comfy RV with million dollar view!
Chris and Mark’s RV was one of the highlights of our trip! They are such wonderful and welcoming hosts, and their land is stunning — you’re perched high above the ocean with amazing views and great access to the south Kona coast & Captain Cook. We felt so at home and they provided everything needed for a relaxing stay and then some. Super great value; we hope to be back!

Comfy RV with million dollar view!
This felt like our antidote to high cost, sterile-looking tourist resorts, but with a resort worthy view, and genuine hospitality. The Comfy RV was exactly our speed, and was a magical experience. This spot is ideal if you don’t mind the quirks and nuances of an older RV and value quiet and the natural beauty of the island. The RV is older, but is well maintained, clean and well stocked with what you need to cook, etc. The lanai has the most gorgeous view and is an excellent spot to sit with a cup of coffee, we saw whales one morning, or to do homework midday as my kids did. The evening sunset is beautiful. Mark and Chris are kind and generous hosts. Getting down the driveway from the main road definitely requires 4WD…, for sure. My only hesitation in recommending this gem is that I don’t want it to be booked up the next time we visit! Part of why we want to come back to Hawaii is to have a chance to stay there again.
