We have a hidden exotic fruit orchard tucked away through rolling green hills, perched over the Hamakua cliffs, overlooking the pacific.
We sell our fruits ripe and cut ready to eat at our roadside fruit stand, open 11-6 daily including holidays! We serve local fresh juices and machete open coconuts to drink ice cold.
We grow mango, durian, lilikoi, star fruit, chocolate sapote, buddhas hand citrus, finger limes, tangerines and tangelos, jackfruit, tree grapes, mangosteen, white pineapples, mountain apples, berries, spices and much more. We are home to dozens of rescue animals, many who came from Puna during the 2018 lava flow. We have peaceful sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and a lovable pet pig. Not to mention our friendly farm cats.
Our current camp sites are not in the fruit orchard, but in a rolling hills open pasture land near the fruit stand. It is rustic and pastoral.
We are a community of a few passionate farmers and fruit lovers. There’s a family- myself Rose, my partner Matthew and our daughter Mela, plus several awesome guys and girls who help out in different areas to grow our lives together!

Welcome to Hau'ula Homestead! We are located on O‘ahu, the beautiful Hawaiian Island.
Right across the road from Hau'ula Beach park and a short drive from famous North Shore beaches. Flat grass field with some trees and bordered by a stream.
We have two RV/tent campsites available. If you are bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. No hookups are available at this time, the sites are flat.

We are pet-friendly, but please keep your pets on leash.
A toilet, potable water, and wifi are all available.
Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible.
When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.

I never got bored living here. Every day I got to wake up and go to the beach just minutes away from home, or my cousins and I would have a fishing contest to see who could catch the most fish. We would also go paddling up the river to lay nets down to catch some ono (delicious) crab for dinner.

Camper Vans or RVs are more than welcome! During the day, enjoy access to a private river where you can take your fishing pole and catch yourself some dinner. After a busy day, enjoy a nice hot bath in a private shower under the stars, along with a flushing toilet and sink. Upon request and additional charge, end your adventure with a cozy night next to the fire pit ($28.00 for fire pit). Mangrove Lounge is 3-5 minutes (driving) away from many beaches and eateries in Haleiwa town where you can also do all your shopping. Less than a mile away, you can find all the delicious food trucks including the famous Giovanni Shrimp Truck. You can find your nearest supermarket just 1.2 miles away called Malama Market, and Longs Drug Store right across the street from Malama Market. Mangrove Lounge provides clean bathroom, a shower with hot water, access to a private river for relaxing or fishing, about 800ft from the nearest bus stop, and secured privacy so you and your friends or family can relax, feel safe, and most importantly...have fun! 😊

Lava covered the site on 5 September 1990, after more than a thousand years of peaceful fertility. The flow met the Hakuma horst and was diverted north, filling the village of Kalapana and the beautiful Kaimu Bay. Lava continued to flow in the area for another 20 years, until 2011. We are restoring the fertility by bringing in mulch and soil and planting coconuts, mango trees, moringa, plumeria, figs, dragonfruits, and more.
Near the camp sites we've recently constructed a house out of local wood; it provides some shelter from the nearly constant trade winds. Premium strawberry guava BBQ firewood can be purchased by prior arrangement. There's a shower with cold water; it doesn't get very cold!
1 mile from ocean cliffs, 2 miles to a basic grocery store and a great weekly farmers market, 2.5 miles to Volcanoes National Park, 5 miles to Kehena public black sand beach at the base of the cliffs, with a community drum circle on Sundays. Welcome to the wild coast of South Puna!
Optionally produce from our nearby rainforest garden. We may offer guided tours to local historical caves and bicycle trips to hidden beaches deep inside Volcanoes National Park.

Our property is in a secluded neighborhood, a 4.2 mile drive in from the main road (Highway 11). The drive in or out should take about 10-15 minutes. Volcano National Park is 19 miles from our home and will take about 30 minutes to drive. We are 18 miles from Hilo Farmers Market/downtown Hilo and again should take about 30 minutes. Pahoa area is 20 miles from us and just past a 30 minute drive. Tour the island during the day and come back to a spacious, private courtyard campsite where you can experience the beauty and sounds of our forest sanctuary.

Bonus:One parking space and a washer and dryer on property. Our friendly and loving pets share the property too (one dog and one cat). We are 1.5 miles from the beach and 3 miles from the famous Haleiwa town where there are beaches, restaurants, shops and our famous Haleiwa Harbor. We own a boat charter that offers shark diving, whale watching, fishing, snorkeling and sunset cruises. David was a great host. The space was welcoming and we enjoyed being able to come and go without having to bother anyone. The ocean front property offered the sound of the waves crashing 24/7. You’re far from the street so all you hear is the ocean. There was a clean bathroom, shower, electricity, a BBQ, picnic tables, wash sink, horseshoe pit, lounge chairs on the beach, and even solar powered motion censored lights in the evening that didn’t take over the night time ambiance.

My stay at Michelle’s cottage was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the Michelle had gone above and beyond—every detail was thoughtfully considered, and nothing was overlooked. The place is beautifully maintained, and is the perfect island retreat just minutes from the beach!
Everything I needed (and more) was provided, which made my stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. It truly felt like a home away from home, but even better with the gorgeous surroundings. I will stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hawaii. This place is something special!

The land was located in a little off-grid community. It was a charming place as a whole and I felt more of a connection to the land there than at some Hipcamps. It would have been extremely hard to find in dark, but fortunately I arrived before sunset so it wasn’t too bad. The road, while dirt, was also quite solid. I wish there had been more space to pull off the road by the site, but it didn’t seem to cause a problem with the very minimal traffic. Molly waved me down the next morning as I was leaving and we had a lovely chat - she is very welcoming, with some great local tips, too! I would not hesitate to stay again if I’m ever back in the area.

Glory and Tina were kind and welcoming hosts. Their property is beautiful, secluded, and great for either tent or RV/pop-up camper setups. The amenities are a little rustic, so just know that going into the trip; that said, Glory and Tina left a great setup for us that helped us enjoy our stay. Tina even brought fresh eggs and apple bananas! Definitely recommend for those wanting a simple, safe, and beautiful place to unplug and relax.

Michelle's place was great. Its a compact space but well laid out and has everything you need. All the consumables and amenities were good quality and plentiful. Michelle and her husband were very welcoming and kind hosts.
We had a mix of weather while there so some days our base for hiking, beach trips, and trying local restaurants etc and another day relaxing and watching movies etc with the Smart TV. Highly recommend.

We had such a great stay here and will absolutely come back. This is a true beachfront camping experience and exactly what we were hoping for.
We pulled in with our rental camper van and also rented the two-room tent, which worked out perfectly for our group. It’s not meant to be a glamorous hotel setup and that is part of the charm. You’re right on the water and falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night was incredible.
The site had everything we needed. The bath and shower were clean and convenient, the grill made it easy to cook meals, and the whole space felt safe, private, and well cared for. It’s also in a great location, close enough to many of the island’s attractions but still quiet and relaxing when you return at the end of the day.
Our friends rented the camper on site and loved it as well. It was comfortable and a perfect option for anyone who wants the experience without bringing their own setup.
What really made the stay special were the hosts. They are genuinely kind, welcoming people who clearly care about their guests and the property. Communication was easy and we always felt comfortable and secure during our stay.

It’s a well appointed, charming, clean, quiet and well decorated oasis. Michelle thought of everything we could need and then some. The back yard was a delight and it’s close to everything. She was a gracious host who made sure we had what we needed and felt comfortable. We will be back!

This spot is a must-see! It truly is a private oasis nestled in an accessible residential area. The amenities that David supplies are above and beyond! The bathroom and shower were very clean and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen space and BBQ were very useful and the property itself is stunning. We genuinely wished he had booked more days at this campsite as it was the perfect way to soak up some beach time with no crowds. We highly recommend staying here!
