Often when traversing the trails at night we have found areas with severe temperature drops. We are far enough away from town to have spectacular viewing of stars Experience the life on an Arabian show horse facility for a few days! We have 20 amp electrical hook up, hot/cold water in the horses wash racks. a public restroom with toilet. We have a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Feel free to gather wood from anywhere on the property for the fire pit. Bring charcoal lighter to get the fire going unless you are a primitive survivalist. WE ALSO HAVE A PLAYGROUND FOR SMALL CHILDREN! We do NOT have a public shower but the Love's and the QT station are both 3 miles away and they have several super nice showers available at their truck stop! The barn lounge has a fridge and microwave, ceiling fan for relaxing and watching the lessons and horse training! Sign up for a few lessons for a fee while you are here! (when an instructor has an opening, must book in advance) Bring your own horses and ride the trails! **Warning** there are a few weeks mid Summer when the deer flies are swarming and the trails are not good for riding horses! WE DO NOT HAVE 30amp electrical hook ups but many large RV's turn off hot water heaters and use propane on their fridges and the 20 amp circuit was plenty to power the rest of their RV or use generators!

The name Seven Islands comes from the rich history of this area and the nearby trading site between Native Americans and settlers in the 1800s on the seven islands of the Ocmulgee River. For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. (Note: We reserve the right to refuse lodging to horses with runny noses/runny eyes or otherwise sick). *Cabin being remodeled. To be open some time in 2025* We are happy to ride with you when available if desired - or we recommend using the Outdoor Active or Gaia app. Our tent camping area is a peaceful, shady area overlooking meandering Kinnard Creek. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. We are just far enough away not to be intrusive, but near enough if you need assistance.

We do NOT have a public shower but the Love's and the QT station are both 3 miles away and they have several super nice showers available at their truck stop! The barn lounge has a fridge and microwave, ceiling fan for relaxing and watching the lessons and horse training! Sign up for a few lessons for a fee while you are here! (when an instructor has an opening, must book in advance) Bring your own horses and ride the trails! **Warning** there are a few weeks mid Summer when the deer flies are swarming and the trails are not good for riding horses! My husband and I stayed Thanksgiving weekend. Very friendly & responsive hosts. Ample space at our site. We had a problem with our slide upon arrival; James took a look but was unable to help but did give suggestions of someone who could. Bath houses were clean!!! Site had its own grill, table, fire pit. Farm animals were very friendly. My only negative was the hot water pressure was not good so I couldn’t take advantage of the showers But everything else was super nice!!

We had an amazing time. It was supposed to be a quick overnight stop. We got in late, 10pm. We had little mix up with the site. James & Lisa came right out. Took great care of us and even helped us get hooked up. The next morning came over to check on us too. Amazing hosts. Very attentive and kind. Then the location.. in the daylight is amazing. We all had fun taking the golf cart to see the animals and through the trails. The amenities were clean and lots of hot water. The property is beautiful and fun. Will definitely stay here again. The kids are already asking to go back on our way home.

Fantastic little campground with extremely helpful hosts. Here’s what I liked about it. There was lighting, but not too much. Sites were roomy with a small fire pit, picnic tables, and a charcoal grill. The individual bathrooms were clean, warm and convenient. A hot shower was great to get after a long day on the road. It was quiet with a few outdoor country sounds, like owls, a dog in the distance and a rooster at sunup. I’d recommend this place to anyone.

The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The site was big, pleasantly tucked away, and I could hear the stream from my hammock. Loved smelling the pine needles as I got out of my car. I did hear some distant coyotes and highway noise, but the white noise of the water blocked most of it. Felt very safe and unbothered despite knowing some other properties were nearby. Will definitely be back!

This was such a fun place to stay! The weather wasn't the best the week I was there, rainy and cold. But nevertheless the experience of staying at a working stable was fun. Every morning the horses get fed, then let out of their stables into the fields. And every evening they get brought back in. I stayed around the back of the main stable next to the juvenile pen. They have 2 youngsters who I ended up making friends with. If you can't tell I'm not a horse person. But being able to stay at Sun Valley, I'm learning to love them! Definitely worth the stay. Note: you're staying amongst the stables, so expect flies and smells. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's all part of the experience!

I'm a former vanlifer, WWoofer, and current gardener/Wild Foraging Teacher who still loves camping even though I am currently renovating this cabin built in 1900. The cabin sits on a large lot and I also own the lot next door, which is where the campsites are. There are two site spaces and a fire ring in the middle. There is an outside water faucet close by with city water. Guests who need to check email may visit the front porch and use the guest wifi password that I share with Airbnb guests to the cabin. Since I sometimes host guests at the cabin, you can be sure to hear some excellent travel stories while here. If you are looking for privacy and not so much social interaction, let me know and we'll give you your space.

Communitowhee (or Towhee) Farm is the rebirth of a retired, 19th century tenement estate located in the Mvskoke Indian territory of Milledgeville, GA. The land is divided into a working, 40+ acre pine forest and a 1-acre tract envisioned as an organic produce farm. On the 1-acre tract, in the pecan grove next to the tiny home where you'll be staying, there is 120v electrical as well as a water hookup. We also have tiki torches and a fire pit for spending time around the fire in the evening. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! All fires must be contained inside the designated hubcap chiminea. Do not attempt to build any fires outside of this container. All fires must be fully extinguished when unattended. We welcome you to join us for an evening or a few on our homestead! The microfarm is complete with D.I.Y. designs; fruit trees, raised beds, composting bins, a bat house, water-catchment barrels, a fruit/vegetable sun-dryer, and a 11-by-40-foot greenhouse. It's our home and humble work in progress community vision. Currently in residence are our domestic and farm cats, some of whom you may meet during your stay. Every step of Communitowhee’s growth has been taken with deep thought and consideration for the health and history of its land. Each infrastructure design has been and will continue to be built from sustainable, up and recycled materials to minimize environmental impact. And, whether it be converting a traditional garden bed into a self-irrigating wicking bed or figuring out how to affix new tires to an antique Radio Flyer wagon — every project has been achieved through grit, trial-and-error, tons of YouTube videos, and the inherited instincts of many centuries of farming ancestors. During the growing season you might find: Eggplant, tomatoes, yellow squash, cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, bell peppers, green onions, garlic chives, kale, collards, cabbage, lettuce, watermelon, cantaloupe, and various herbs basil, turmeric, dandelion, dog fennel, mint, pear, plum, blackberries and fig trees as well as many varieties of blueberry.
