This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy.

We had an excellent stay on Jon’s property. We came to Senoia bc my teenage son wanted to see the set tour for The Walking Dead for his birthday. Jon’s property was conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown Senoia, but felt far away in the woods. We did all things Walking Dead in one afternoon and spent the rest of the weekend hanging out at the camper. We have a 22 foot hybrid and had no issues parking. Hookups were easily connected as well. We made a beautiful fire for about 7 hours one night using only wood from the property, which was in abundance. My kids got to just be kids: climbing trees, running down trails through the woods with the dogs, collecting and chopping firewood, playing outside and getting dirty like boys should do! My dogs loved the property too, just getting to be off leash and hang out with us. My only slight negative is that there was some road noise, especially Monday morning during the morning commute time. It wasn’t terrible, I would absolutely stay here again anytime! It would just be nice to be able to better block that sound. The property is perfect though, the stars are amazing, and we had fun just reconnecting in nature and spending time together camping. Thank you Jon for offering us your land. We enjoyed it very much and if we are in the area again we will be back!

Did need to change water filter due to well sediment and adapt electric since he is set up for 50 amp and we did not have an adapter.
That aside it was peaceful...and we were able to get a much needed good night's sleep.
It was a bonus that our dog could be off leash for a change.

When I first pulled in, I saw little heads bobbing, geese! Then when I pulled around to my campsite the road led through a little creek any f150 or bigger could get through no problem!!! How awesome is that?! Then, a downfall, the power went out but we had the generator and gas hooked up in a jiffy, with that being said, the man offered to pay for our gas to run our small heater microwave and tv, along with an easy to remember wifi password which worked so well out by the small uncovered lake pavilion. I traveled in an f350 with a camper on top and had very little to no branches above head that got in the way. This is a fine camp and he was able to make us aware of anything when it went wrong or wasn't working properly.

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

We had the best time at Brooks Lake — it’s truly our happy place. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and it’s the perfect spot to spend time as a family. My son loved learning to fish and explore the outdoors, and we all enjoyed just slowing down and soaking up the quiet. This is a very nice spot, but there are a few things I wish we had known in advance. It doesn’t have the privacy we hoped for, as the two campsites are less than 100 feet apart with very few trees in between. Next time, we’ll rent both campsites so we have it all to ourselves. There’s a rooster nearby that starts getting very active around 4:30 AM. Also, the creek has no current so it gets very buggy - bring plenty of bug spray! Some firewood was supplied but wasn’t chopped, and it wasn’t kept under cover… fortunately it hadn’t rained in awhile so it wasn’t too wet to burn, but I wish we had brought an axe.
