For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. This means we don't have many frills, but we are by far the closest RV site to central Atlanta, and the only one on MARTA public transit (right outside the gate). We are a rare gem in this city. One of the last areas that have been allowed to return to nature after being farmed until the 1960s. We are surrounded by 100s of acres of parkland, and yet are only 5 minutes drive from almost everything you will need. You will see the hand cut terraces put in by the farm workers and then the forest has spent the last 50 years taking it back. Still lots of old growth trees around though. The county just purchased/swapped 50 more acres to go with the hundreds more under it's watch. There is a 18 hole golf course, sports fields, public pool and YMCA type community center all along the trail and walking distance from the campsite. We are a 501c3 non-profit church that is still in the early days of it's mission. Your donation to our site helps fund our mission and keeps the lights on. Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, A Peace of Heaven

Bill & Laura's hospitality was amazing! They made every effort to help us find a great spot right on the lake! Moved and leveled the picnic table while we enjoyed conversation. Communication details were very detail and a great help. The views were beautiful and serene, we even had access to a gazebo next to our camp. We slept in our tent and felt very safe. We caught two nice size catfish just before leaving which was great! I can't say enough about this private camp site, except we will be back again soon.

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

We had a wonderful time tent camping here! It was very private and peaceful! Largest camping site we’ve ever had! The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The creek was a wonderful spot to have coffee with the large rocks for sitting!

We loved our over night stay and plan to come back! Beautiful property and nice and quiet, especially since we were the only campers there. We planned to go to High Falls but ended up just staying on the property exploring the creek and the kids had a blast. This wasn't an issue for us since we had a truck, but a small/low clearance car might have a tough time on the trail leading to the campsite.

I had a wonderful stay on JoLane and Sam's place. JoLane offered prompt replies and all information needed for arrival. Sam (a veteran) met me and guided me to Site 4. We had a nice chat about local going-ons... all the more making me feel at home. The site was just right for my Colorado and 16ft camper. That being said, this site would be perfect for single or multiple tent camping! I enjoyed the peaceful feeling of being in remote, deep woods... without really being far away from conveniences or access to major roads. Do yourself a favor a spend a night or two here!

Weekend Trip to Surewood ForRest

Staying at the farm has been one of the best camping trips I’ve ever taken! Mrs Jo and Mr Sam were the absolute best hosts anyone could ask for! Had help unloading and bringing my gear to the site. They were also so nice to let me borrow a small heater for when it was going to get down to freezing. The weather was beautiful and the walks through the property were great. My dog and I thoroughly enjoyed being around the goats and the mule since we stayed at the goat site. Enjoyed waking up to the roosters and peacocks. Plenty of good deadfall for firewood and the sites are set up very well. I also brought home some soap and honey that were made at the farm. Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend of relaxation and time in the woods. So many great things, but too many to list! You will definitely have to go experience it for yourself! I will definitely be returning!

Weekend Trip to Brooks Lake, A Peace of Heaven

We had the best time at Brooks Lake — it’s truly our happy place. The property is beautiful and peaceful, and it’s the perfect spot to spend time as a family. My son loved learning to fish and explore the outdoors, and we all enjoyed just slowing down and soaking up the quiet. Everyone there is so kind and welcoming — it really feels like home away from home. We can’t wait to bring our camper back for another weekend by the lake!

Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

The site was big, pleasantly tucked away, and I could hear the stream from my hammock. Loved smelling the pine needles as I got out of my car. I did hear some distant coyotes and highway noise, but the white noise of the water blocked most of it. Felt very safe and unbothered despite knowing some other properties were nearby. Will definitely be back!

3 nights at Risin' RV

My husband & I spent 3 nights at Risin’ RV. This is a cozy, urban camping experience. Location is great because you feel as though you’re in the country, however you are minutes from downtown East Atlanta. The community here is at a soft open. There is some construction going on, however it really didn’t interfere with our stay at all. You need to be self-contained to stay here because there are no bathrooms or showers. However, there are full hookups for RVs/trailer camping. The camp has a cat & chickens wandering around & that was really fun. Communication with the camp hosts was easy. The camp is secure & safe. There are 2 security gates & we were given a code for the keypad so we could come & go as we pleased. There was a little bit of road noise, however not significant. We had a quite, peaceful stay at Risin’ RV.

Campground was very beautiful and peaceful. Darren was very accommodating and welcoming. It truly was an oasis very close to the city. I will definitely return.

Beautiful spot overlooking the River. We visited High Falls state park, which was a really beautiful park. Not far to Jackson for Fresh Air BBQ. Overall a very nice site close to some great places to visit.
