The name Seven Islands comes from the rich history of this area and the nearby trading site between Native Americans and settlers in the 1800s on the seven islands of the Ocmulgee River. For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. (Note: We reserve the right to refuse lodging to horses with runny noses/runny eyes or otherwise sick). *Cabin being remodeled. To be open some time in 2025* We are happy to ride with you when available if desired - or we recommend using the Outdoor Active or Gaia app. Our tent camping area is a peaceful, shady area overlooking meandering Kinnard Creek. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. Weekend Trip to Secluded Riverbend Camp

We had a wonderful time tent camping here! It was very private and peaceful! Largest camping site we’ve ever had! The swing pictured in the listing was broken when we arrived which was a disappointment for our kiddos but we will definitely be back for more camping trips and maybe it’ll be fixed then! The creek was a wonderful spot to have coffee with the large rocks for sitting!

The site was big, pleasantly tucked away, and I could hear the stream from my hammock. Loved smelling the pine needles as I got out of my car. I did hear some distant coyotes and highway noise, but the white noise of the water blocked most of it. Felt very safe and unbothered despite knowing some other properties were nearby. Will definitely be back!

Nothing says beauty like a herd of Arabian horses galloping across a meadow!

6 nights at Sun Valley Horse & Hiking Camp!

This was such a fun place to stay! The weather wasn't the best the week I was there, rainy and cold. But nevertheless the experience of staying at a working stable was fun. Every morning the horses get fed, then let out of their stables into the fields. And every evening they get brought back in. I stayed around the back of the main stable next to the juvenile pen. They have 2 youngsters who I ended up making friends with. If you can't tell I'm not a horse person. But being able to stay at Sun Valley, I'm learning to love them! Definitely worth the stay. Note: you're staying amongst the stables, so expect flies and smells. Enjoy the atmosphere! It's all part of the experience!

We stayed one night and it was amazing ! Look for the hip camp sign at the gate ! Perfect isolated location. Quick walk to the creek and if you take a quick walk down the path on the opposite side is the river ! Breathtaking views ! Relaxing , quiet ! Fire ring available ! Very shaded ! 10/10
