We are a small 50 acre ranch in the panhandle of Florida. Most of our property is pasture. Our mile-long driveway is lined with Oak Trees. We also have a few acres of Mayhaw trees in a seasonal pond. We raise Miniature Tennessee Fainting Goats to sell as family pets. We pasture a half dozen sheep for wool, live with several Peafowl for beauty and entertainment, and a couple dozen Guinee Fowl for pest control and more entertainment. A hundred and twenty-five chickens supply us with plenty of eggs. A dozen ducks offer up a few eggs a day as well. You can pet the goats and Baboy, our Potbellied pig. Walking in the pastures offers a glimpse at the local variety of flowers, birds, and insect life. Stay away from the dozen bee hives we watch over. This is a very quiet and welcoming place. We do have three Great Pyrenees gradian dogs roaming the property at night. They are mostly quiet but can occasionally spend a bit of the night barking and chasing predictors. Coyotes, foxes, and raccoons are better just off the property. Hang out, relax, read, and feed the goats. Monticello has some great restaurants, antique shops, a well-equipped sporting goods store, and a hardware store. If you are a cyclist, there are hundreds of miles of clay roads through the North Florida and South Georgia countryside. There are very few cars and lots of views. We have some routes to share. The clear-water spring-fed Wacissa River is nearby. Bring your own canoe or kayak, or rent one from one of the businesses at the head of the river. The Aucilla River is also nearby. We've reached the stage in our life that we look for experiences beyond just a place to stay over night. What a wonderful place. So many horses to see and pet. Really enjoyed our stay, and hoped it help support their rescue efforts. Our site faced the corals. Early in the morning I was sitting have coffee outside and one of the horses made eye contact, then walked over to the fence to say good morning. Pretty cool.

Our second visit to Golden Acres. The kids love roaming around with the animals, exploring, visiting with Bobbie in the Country Store. In the midst of an emergency at a neighboring campsite, Ken kept in touch and made sure we were all safe. There is no place better to spend a weekend.

Tent camped on the farm. Platform for the tent was a nice bonus. I rode my bike on the local roads straight from the campsite. Great mix of gravel and red clay in this area. Farm animals were abound and the two large dogs are friendly teddy bears. If I come back for more cycling I will be staying here again.

Ms.Marcia, or Ms.sweetie as I like to call her was amazing! Sweetest woman ever. Her and her family were very accommodating. The work they are doing here is amazing and beautiful. The ranch was clean and very well taken care of. They were very knowledgeable about their horses. She gave us a tour when we arrived and learned about all the horses and their personalities. I would rate Crazy 8 ranch and 10 out of 10, will stay again. Thank you so much Ms. Sweetie, we look forward to working with you.

Such a great spot. Quiet. Lots of sky. Animals. A nearby bathroom. Electricity to charge our things. And most importantly, easy access to some amazing bike riding on the region’s red clay roads. Will definitely be back.

We were in a VW van and it was the perfect spot for us. Giant live oaks. Lots of sky. Quiet. Nearby bathroom. Electric on site to charge our things. And easy access to go for a bike ride on the areas amazing dirt and clay roads. Will absolutely be back. Thanks, Ken!

I loved my stay at Crazy 8 Ranch. Marcie met us on arrival. She is friendly and accommodating as are all the rest of the staff and volunteers. I loved interacting with the horses and the trail ride we took. Marcie was happy to answer all of our questions and let us help out with caring for the horses. I didn't want to leave!
