Welcome to Smokey Acres!
This property has been in my family for decades. My Husband and I were married under the oaks and have had our share of campfires out there.
Down a hidden gravel drive with wetlands on either side you will find a completely fenced in field surrounded by pine, oak, and swamp maple trees. There are two ponds located on the property both stocked with bass, bluegill, and sunfish. The front pond is home to many natural Florida wildlife and is a great location to bird watch.
Located a few miles from Brooksville and the Suncoast Parkway, this quiet and peaceful setting is just 5 minutes from the parking area and trailhead for the Suncoast Trail and 10 miles from the famous Weeki Wachee Springs, where you can spend the day at the local park or float down the river with the manatees.
Withlacoochee State Park and other natural preserves with trail access and kayaking are only a short distance away, and Dames Cave, Homosassa Springs, and Chasawiska Springs are all within a ~20-minute drive as well. Spending a day at the beach is easy with plenty of options along the Nature Coast. We’re also less than an hour from Tampa and Clearwater and two hours from Orlando.
A perfect weekend get-away for anyone looking to “unplug,” Smokey Acres is also a great stop for those passing through the area. We are a close distance to many racing, livestock, boating and fishing events. We have no problem accommodating whatever you’re towing!
Whether you'd like a leisurely day on the river or an adventure in the Gulf, there are plenty of boating options nearby. Be sure to make it back to the property in time to enjoy amazing sunsets that bring peace and tranquility to your experience.

Second time staying here.
I had plans to stay at another state campsite, but three gate code was not working. Luckily, on a moment notice, Smokey Acres was available.
The campsite was clean, quiet, beautiful. Bathroom facilities were decent. Site was level. Slight noise from traffic. No complaints. Its an easy weekend get away.
My wife was able to set up her telescope for some night photography and I got plenty of reading time.
I'm pretty sure a 3rd stay will happen in the next few months.

Spent my New Years at Smokey Acres and it will now be a tradition for me. I had a blast! Such a beautiful and peaceful setting next to the pond. I will definitely book another stay at this site in the near future. I can’t say enough of how much I truly enjoy my time at this campground. We enjoyed the beauty and peace and spaciousness of the sites. The bathroom/shower were a bit more of an adventure than we were expecting. Bring your own toilet paper and beware that flushing the toilet will shut off the shower! Otherwise we enjoyed this unique place!

We love Smokey Acres! This was our second time staying there. Large sites, great trail, close to fun activities to explore in the area. Our site was on the pond with a nice picnic table, fire pit and flat site for our camper. We highly recommend a visit to Smokey Acres.

I can’t begin to express my gratitude to Hilary and her family for sharing this little slice of paradise with us campers. Whether it’s camping in my rv or a tent, I have fallen in-love with Smokey Acres! The campground is well kept, the amenities are awesome and its obvious the owners love their property and the campers. I was able to book an additional night while staying at the campground this weekend. I just can’t get enough!

We had a wonderful time visiting Smokey Acres. Our visit was cut short by a family emergency back home, (nothing bad), my sister had a baby but it did cause us to leave earlier than expected. I’ve already booked another visit and plan on another booking before the year is over. This campground offers plenty of space per site and a picturesque setting. Being a Florida camping enthusiast, I can say Smokey Acres is the best I’ve found in this area of Florida. Safe, spacious, and plenty of amenities! I’m looking forward to many more visits! The second night someone else was there but you couldn’t even tell because of the spacing of the sites!

We rented RV site 2 for tent camping and it was amazing! The site was spacious and spread apart from the other guests. The owner stopped by and was gracious enough to loan us an electrical adapter so we could get power and stopped by everyday for general maintenance and to check on our stay! It was an amazing holiday weekend and hated to see it end! There is toilet and shower (outdoor) and it was much appreciated even if a little rustic!! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
