Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us! We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65. I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served. WIFI is available! (please ask for password). We have a portable toilet for your use. This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails. This is also a hobby farm with livestock (Donkey, two Goats, a Duck and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you! My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from backing during the night. We also host an AirBnB, so other guests may be here as well. Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back. We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water. Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

We do not have WiFi, but we do have 5g service throughout the 11 acre property. Our camping sites DO NOT have electricity These are hike-in only campsites ☺️ Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water). We have two primitive campsites these campsites are first come first serve, they are not assigned when booking. Plesea see pictures. Our Glamper tent is a 10x12 canvas furnished full size bed with bedding, pillows and enough floor space for two sleeping bags. The tens are located off a short trial, but rugged 2-minute hike from the parking area. We provide the opportunity to go camping without having to pack the tent. Closed toed shoes are highly suggested as well as plenty of lighting with batteries or solar charging capability. This is a rugged, fun and serene camping experience. Thanks to the Reviews here AND the quick Reply to my HipCamp message ~ booked an unexpected getaway. WHAT a great place to start the new year and experience the 1st full moon. The hosts were super accepting and accommodating of my late arrival. It's only an hour away to put your toes in the sand! And that sparkling clean, hot shower is a huge bonus after a day at the beach. Even got a guided tour of the property. Peaceful & private ~ perfection! The hosts' care for the campers promotes an obvious feel of community. CanNOT wait to go back in the spring!

Weekend Trip to Brinn Farm

Our camping experience was awesome. Patrick’s Dad Pat met us at the entrance to the property and led us to a beautiful secluded spot. He also drove me around property to get me acquainted to the many acres available for walks. The property was extremely well maintained. It was renewing to have such a quiet property to enjoy walks, fishing (if interested) and star gazing. Everything as far as hookups was easy and we so enjoyed listening to birds, reading and relaxing. No cell service or WiFi but you will not miss it if you want to enjoy nature and solitude. We definitely would return for future visits.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Wandering Path is true off-grid goodness. We spent a few days camped along Blackwater Creek, and from the moment we arrived, it felt like the kind of place you come to unplug on purpose. Tall pines, open sky, sandy creek bends, and that deep, steady quiet that only exists when you’re far from roads and routines. We were there during a cold front with nights in the 20s, and it honestly made the experience even better — longer fires, slower mornings, dogs curled closer, kids wandering freely, and time stretching out the way it should. This is primitive camping done right: simple, intentional, and respectful of the land. The sites are thoughtfully spaced so you feel tucked into nature, not stacked on top of each other. It’s a perfect fit for off-grid campers, overlanders, tent campers, families, and dog lovers who appreciate space, silence, and stars. If you’re looking for a place with good energy, room to roam, and a reminder of how grounding it feels to live simply for a few days — this is it. We left feeling lighter and more connected, and we’d return in a heartbeat.

This is a really unique spot that we absolutely loved. We tent camped here and really enjoyed being so close to the water. There’s plenty of shade and direct water access, though you do need to be careful—erosion makes getting down to the water (and back up) a bit tricky. We appreciated the bathrooms and the small pavilion; it had just the right amount of essentials and saved us from having to carry extra gear. Overall, a great spot if you enjoy a more natural, waterside camping experience.

We had a wonderful time! We booked a yurt which was so nice, very spacious and the heater worked amazing - we were there for 2 nights in the cold/rain but that didn't put a damper on it at all. Beautiful property, lots of trails and the prettiest beach right on the river that you can see from a lot of the camp sites. Great communication from the owner! We will definitely be back!

The camp site for my son and I was exactly what we were looking for. It had a great location close to the water and was not far from the parking area. The site was clean and we really enjoyed cooking over the open fire pit. My son thought the solar power string lights was a good addition. Another part we both liked was the outdoor kitchen that’s available for anyone to use. The lighting, sink, and countertop area made it so easy for us to clean up after cooking on the fire. We also liked that there was a shower and restroom available as well. You can’t beat the price for all that is available. Definitely will be coming back.

Even though it was pretty hot out, we HAD to make a campfire for s'mores!

Had a wonderful time! The place was peaceful and we loved the cooking area and bathrooms were great! The yurt was perfect and the we thoroughly enjoyed the beach and water area, as well as hiking the trail! Bella and Amanda were perfect hosts! We took a chance driving in 5 hours and will make the trip again!

Really enjoyed our time at gateway trails. The host welcomed us when we got there. The property is beautiful and loved the walking trails. And the washhouse was well stocked and clean. Would definitely recommend.

This was our 2nd stay with Richard and it was just as lovely as the 1st. Peaceful and relaxing. Quiet in the evenings, with only the sound of bats chirping. This time we saw a couple deer grazing. Will be returning any time we have a free night with clear weather!
