Heart of the Country is our home and also your own personal twelve acre state park whenever you stay with us! We are less than 15 minutes from Interstate 10 and from Interstate 65. I offer a half-dozen campsites, all either on a relatively level paved driveway or grass. Power (20 amp and 30 amp) and water is available. We have two 30 amp campsites, which are first come, first served. WIFI is available! (please ask for password). We have a portable toilet for your use. This is a Longleaf Pine sanctuary with lots of nature trails. This is also a hobby farm with livestock (Donkey, two Goats, a Duck and a flock of Chickens). I feed the livestock grain every morning usually between 8 and 9 am, and again hay before dusk. You are always welcome to join me and I'll introduce all of them to you! My dog, Homer, is our very friendly welcoming ambassador who will enthusiastically great you upon your arrival. I put him up in his kennel each evening around dusk, then lock him in his shed until morning which keeps him from backing during the night. We also host an AirBnB, so other guests may be here as well. Texting via the app is our preferred mode of communication. If you call, please leave a message if I can't answer, and I will call you back. We are slowly updating the site photos. Use them only to determine your price, for example: A site with 30 amp power and water is $25 per night. A site with 20 amp power and water is $20 per night. A boondocking site (no power) is $15 per night. All sites have access to a porta-potty and water. Suggested local attraction: Blakeley State Historic Park is four miles away.

We provide a coffee maker (French press), ground coffee, fresh eggs from our chickens, and a loaf of fresh bread (for your consumption or to feed the animals). We do not provide a cooked breakfast. There is no TV or radio. The Camper is nestled 17 miles from Town, so you may want to shop on your way here. The Eastern Shore Center is located at Exit 38, where you can find great shopping, many restaurants, and a Publix grocery store. We try to keep various essential items in the pantry and there is a stocked kitchen (pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware). TV, landline telephone, and internet are not available. You should have good cell phone service, Verizon and AT&T 4G , outside. Check-in is any time after 3pm and Check-out is 10am. Guest access Please do not open any gates or cross any fences. The space Camping On The Farm! This is a living quarters horse trailer that we use to travel with our horses. It is a small space! There is a queen size bed in the upper area, a kitchenette with an undercounter refrigerator, a microwave, a two burner gas cooktop, and an outdoor grill. The bathroom has a toilet and a 24" x 30" stand up shower. The kitchen sink is also the bathroom sink. There is a small 3 gallon water heater which will provide about 5 minutes of hot water, meaning you have 5 minutes to shower. We provide a coffee maker (French press), ground coffee, fresh eggs from our chickens, and a loaf of fresh bread (for your consumption or to feed the animals). We do not provide a cooked breakfast. There is no TV or radio. The Camper is nestled 17 miles from Town, so you may want to shop on your way here. The Eastern Shore Center is located at Exit 38, where you can find great shopping, many restaurants, and a Publix grocery store. We try to keep various essential items in the pantry and there is a stocked kitchen (pots, pans, plates, glasses, flatware). TV, landline telephone, and internet are not available. You should have good cell phone service, Verizon and AT&T 4G , outside. Check-in is any time after 3pm and Check-out is 10am. Guest access Please do not open any gates or cross any fences. The animals are people-friendly and will come up to the fences to be fed. Treats are provided. Other things to note There is no TV or radio available.

We tent camped for 3 weeks in November and Dave was extremely accommodating for our 3 week stay in November. Don't skip the hot tub! For van lifer types this is an ideal location. Good cell reception and a quiet atmosphere. There were extremely few insects and the sunset over Mobile each night is a brilliant orange. We used the YMCA Express in Spanish Fort for showers, gym, infrared sauna, and as a coffeeshop. it has a table area with outlets for laptops. The day pass there is $10.

Dave is the perfect host and has a beautiful location. Sunsets are amazing every day. Easy pull through location and easy to hook up on flat ground. Dollar General is a mile away and it’s about a 15 minute trip to Walmart, grocery and fast food. I highly recommend Heart of the Country for anyone wanting a peaceful get away.

Dave's land was a welcome overnight stop on a multi-day road trip. It's obvious that he has been putting in some work to make it so welcoming to campers. Amazingly, there wasn't any of the typical noise you might expect to hear from the "livestock", I had a very peaceful and restful night. I would highly recommend to anyone camping in the area.
